Hi everyone i have a moto defy with cynogen mod installed and the mic has stopped working, it works in speakerphone but not regular mode. I have cleared the cache and factory reset it but still no luck. Does anyone here have any experience with this issue ?

Try a sbf flash, that rules out any software glitches

its running cyanogen mod 9-20121116-Nightly-Jordan android 4.0.4 and its a green lense model.
i use RSD Lite and will any sbf work ? im unsure of the original carrier, so im going to try a british retail version.
and super1click to root it ?
Try the one corresponding to your earliest stock build. Don't worry about original carrier, you can use the one closest to your current carrier

reflashed back to stock motoblur, its really slow ! and it did not fix the mic, guess i have to buy a new mic for it ?
If it's broke in stock, then you'll have to replace the Mic

how do i do this ? also i oppened it up and it looks as if the mic is missing, at the top of the main board, there is some solder and no gold mic..

Every day i have to restart my phone so i can call again...
when i dial the number and click send... the call ends immediately and tells that it was a 4 second call... and I cant make a call until a restart the phone...
i have a defy with the latest nightly from quarx cm7 mod
same problem buddy!! 111102 nightly...but I have this problem since I had cm7 (rco,rc1,rc1,5)
I get this too sometimes, and its so annoing when you need to make a fast call and i have to do a batt pull

i have the same problem in CM7, the last night i flash de MIUI-1.12.2 and this day y restar 1 time.
Dont recive sms and phone call too

I am having a problem with my Milestone 2. Sometimes, for no apparent reason the screen stops working and I have to turn off the phone through the physical buttons. Does anyone know what might be happening and how can I fix this?

What is the system version you're using?
Are you using the defy_more.ko/milestone2_more.ko kernel module for extended multitouch support?
First try a factory reset.
Then the second option, if you're rooted, try flashing a SBF.
If none of these work you'll have to send your phone in to Motorola (do you have warranty?).

The system version is the original android 2.2
I have used milestone2_more.ko one time, but the problem already happened before that.
What happens if I do the Reset? Am I going to lose everifing thats in my phone?
Its rooted, so I lost my warranty... =/

Make backup of your data and apps. Then flash original ROM via RSD lite and send it for repair. Or maybe the problem will stop after flashing original ROM.

Well, I'll try the factory reset tomorrow. Hope it works, but if not I'll try the other opitions. I don't want to send it to the repair because it can take too long where I live.

I had this same bug a few weeks a go, just reset as factory default and now working fine.
Since I did the factory reset two days ago my phone is working fine, without the screen bug.

Can someone give me an advice?
I have a defy+ with bl7 and since I have flashed the 11.10 build I noticed that my phone acts weird:
1. the phone signal shows full, data is on(H-symbol) but the signal icon it's not blue and I cannot receive calls. Trying to turn on/off data nothing happens. Turn on/off airplane does nothing. Only if I reset the phone I can receive calls.
2. Flashing stock Rom or 2nd init builds solves this problem but appear another(random reboots)
3. In 2nd boot builds the battery drain is very high even with the latest build. Only when I change the file libril.... from Walter MSGINGER the battery drain its normal but the issue with the phone still on.
This is happening to me 2-4 times / day
So the advice I ask is that
It's a hardware problem or is a software problem?

Same thing happened with me so I installed sbf Nordic and then cm9 and now using cm10 which is working awesome without any problem

I flashed froyo because I got green lens and I rooted it with super one click then installed 2init recovery installer v2.0 then flashed cm9 epsy. Version and froyo kernel after that installed cm10 18 build update 3 and now 4th it is working awesome

Guys i have problems with JB SISTER.
I dont know why, but i can not post in defy developer.... then i'll post here.

My problems with this version: frequent LAG, freeze when i open any app. The only way for restart android is remove the battery. Ah yes! the boot takes too long to start. Too long!!
Well, i had before this version Quarx version (4.1.1), and i only wiped data and flashed above it.
Then i think: I'll back to stock rom.
Following instructions, i back to retail stock android, because i did not want more problems. After this, i flashed the JB SISTER.
This time, freeze are less frequent but, when i open two or more apps, the system freeze fully, then i remove battery and it all starts again. The problem of boot takes too long continues.
I wonder if anything succeed solve this problem.
Anyway, i think of changing this version totally unstable.

nope bro i oo did tat wipe and made it proper which made me not to install fursquare and lots many apps ... which says ur not allowed to install itseems ...yukkk ..remaining everything is awe and faster not a single lag for me MB526 motorola defy + JB sister
bootmenu-cpu settings-scroll down-set to default (should be 3rd option from the bottom)

the fone gets stuck
so i m using quick pic now
p.s.
if u touched any settings in performance menu
change it to default

before this i had cm10, then i tried flash stock rom then after i flashed again the sister, but the system ever is strange.

where? the base rom doesn't matter because you wipe everything anyways, and because of 2nd-boot you don't use Motorola kernel either!

it's happened to me too. after official froyo i installed that rom and all the phone became sluggish, every app i tried freeze so i had to flash another rom

I screwed up... i deleted /system and rebooted..
Now i am stuck in Moto Logo and RSD Lite is not detecting my phone as well.
I have the drivers installed and yet nothing happens.

I was facing the same problem when i first found this thread. Then i just went to performance option in settings and checked . I found that cpu governance was set to interactive. I changed that to ondemand and my problem got solved.

Did you try the camera in the stock ROM? If the problem exists even on the stock ROM, then most probably it is your hardware at fault.
Ya after flashing my stock sbf file i tried to see the camera....its still the same
If its an hardware issue than can anyone suggest where i can get replacement camera since in India the mototola has stopped its production
