Hey all,
I am sorry posting the repeated question again, but this has a bit of a twist, and to this, i searched and didnt find any answer around.
My friends just bought a HTC P3300 from China. It came with a chinese DOPOD rom.
I had the original Shipped htc rom with me there so i upgraded my 1st friends mobile, with the shipped rom successfully, and then upgraded it to wm6 successfully.
now when i flashed my 2nd friend's device with the HTC Shipped rom, the upgrade process went to 3% and then the device just restarted and got stuck on the Initial dopod boot screen.
It is not moving from there.
So i downladed a couple of other roms, including the DOPOD ship rom,. but when i try to upgrade it, it says " ERROR:200, The Upgrade Software is outdated" kinda message!
now can someone please guide me how can i bring alive my friends rom, what is it i should do to successfully install some rom in it in English.
Please help!
thanks a lot!
Hi all,,
Please someone help me out with this problem...
Which rom should i try, or what is the problem with this?
Thanks a lot.
Did you cid unlock the hone either with USPL or IMEIcheck? If so, you should be able to load an OEM rom back on the phone. Try the HTC WWE WM5 rom or the German WM6...I dont see any reason why an unlocked phone wont accept at least one of those.
hi itschase...
No, i dont know if it was cid unlocked or not.
About USPL or IMEICHECK, nothign was done on it.
As i mentioned, one phone got flashed successfully, but the other failed!
I have tried the HTC WWE WM5 shipped rom, if thats what u are hinting to, but not the German WM6.
I have a crazy idea...
My phone is not bricked, but I was able to try running the USPL ROM Update utility on my phone from bootloader. I have zero idea if this would unbrick your phone, but its worth a shot - cant get much worse (or can it?). Download the USPL file, and run just the rom update utility with your phone in bootloader. After it resets your phone, put it back into bootloader and try reinstalling an OEM rom. I am probably wasting your time, but its worth a shot....

Insane Devil:
you need original rom for your device (with correct model id).
this should flash your device.
in the future, install uspl on your device before upgrading rom.
regards,
Factory Roms should be able to help u out in this...?

Good Idea but ... not correct!
Your device might be CID locked and you were able to run USPL from bootloader, because ... you already have had USPL. Am I right?

RUU Schubert hTC Asia SEA WWE 1.57.728.02 Radio 5.52.09.16 22.33a.50.10 Signed SCHUBERT TEST jailbreak.rar
works on my Asia hd7..have not tested on other region phones. Do so at yr own . If it cannot be flashed, then the update will not continue so dont worry about bricking
Hi there frens, i have accidentally made a new technique for jailbreaking while playing around with ngh and spl files. it does not actually install any rom into yr device but prepares yr mango official to be jailbreaked by Cotulla DFT
the rom is based on 7004 test rom with OSPL 1.20 , with radio 5.51 from nodo,
when flashing this rom , it will get to 100% in romupdate utility u will get a error ( corrupt image)
but thats ok and u will be stuck in tri colour bootloader with the 1.20 Installed
At this point Run DFT RSPL on it and it will show cotulla ( jailbroken)
then u can install any custom ROm u want
will upload the package soon ..
so u may be asking whats the point of this>
1) allows u to skip extra step of flashing previous nodo stock rom, and allows direct flash of any rom u want after running RSPL
2) directly jailbreak
3) 5.51 radio after flashing custom rom which has batter battery life than the 5.69 mango radio
4) if u cant find SPL supported in DFT , ( 1.20 is supported)
i have confirmed this because this 5.51 radio while i was running on nodo gave me great battery life compared to the 5.65 and 5.69 radios which are faster but at the same time power consumption goes up
When you flash RSPL from the tricolour screen, it should show Cotulla anyway, but just for the first time: check after a soft reset.
i am not a developer or expert..
this si th ebest i can get.. will upload the files and if someone were to pick up on it
we can use it as a base to directly flash custom rom with custom NBH file

I've never tried but i think that, if you just use RSPL without HSPL, you can flash a ROM (one at time, of couse, because after that you'll have to RSPL again)

well i know that...
what i meant is those who downgrade and flash bootloader again to jailbreak yr phone
So you flashed hspl while in bootloader... Ok... Can do that turning off phone then turn back on while holding volume down.
I'm missing the point. Your allowed to flash custom roms with RSPL/HSPL that's the point of it.
I think your lost.
Edit: Oh I get it now. Your doing this from an official mango rom with the locked bootloaders that don't have a RSPL/HSPL yet. Ok

If u bootloader is the latest ( 4.5 SPL) , then u cant jailbreak it yet. so need to replace the bootloader with one of the SPL supported under DFT
yes but u need a full flashing rom( complete with wrappers and rom update utility) which is compatible with yr device region
since 7004 is the one i can find while searching online for my device
i just replaced the SPL & NBH from a 5.51 radio rom package from one of the ansar releases and replaced the ones found in the 7004 rom package
the process returns an error obviously because 7004 does not have a 5.51 radio which is based on later OS updates
this error simply means the OS has not been flashed.
tha package is ready for download
Hello everybody,
I'm facing a problem with my HTC HD2 :
The TouchScreen wasn't responding, so I removed all and decided to go back to stock rom (FRA) (WP6.5)
So I did the Goldcard trick, and successfully installed the FRA stock Rom (RUU_Leo_S_HTC_FRA_3.14.406.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship).
So here, my phone must be unbranded right ?
After, I decided to install this rom (WP7.8) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833)
So I changed SPL 3.03.0000 to HSPL 2.08.0000, and installed MAGLDR1.13.
So I run the RUU and it works, I launched the WP7.8 Rom, but i get stuck on the PIN screen, just after I type my code : "This SIM card can only be used on specific networks"
Did I missed something to unbrand my phone ?
Thanks for help
you must SIM unlock phone... goldcard method only debrand
you must purchase SIM unlock code with phone IMEI...
also you must flash stock Wm 6.5 EU ROM to SIm unlock phone... after that you flash magldr and WP7.8

Oh sorry, Im' french, and I thought "debrand == SIM Unlock"
Thanks, I'll get this code.
I'm sick and tired of not having tethering or custom alerts, so I want to install a custom rom on my surround. I'm trying to downgrade my SPL to 1.52 so I can install HSPL, but I can't find a TELUS one anywhre.
The only one I have seen is Ansar's, but his links are dead. I can't post the links yet as i don't have 10 posts.
Does anyone know of where I can get the stock TELUS 1.52 SPL from, or where I can get Ansar's?
Thanks in advance!
I have two Telus Surrounds and I used this rom from Cingular to roll back the spl so that I could unlock it with DFT HSPL Version 3, and then you can load any custom rom you want. If you can't load the rom you might have to use the gold card with a memory stick.

I tried that one but it said invalid vendor id. I assumed that was because I had a Telus phone and not a Cingular one.
I should mention that I'm running 7.8 with bootloader 4.22.2250.0(129185) and firmware 2250.21.40200.661

I was successfully able to download and install the rom onto my phone. Now it's readying SPL 1.4.2250.2(113577) and then tried to install RSPL, but the phone would not reboot. I tried resetting the phone as some others indicated, but to no avail.
I then upgraded the phone to NODO using cab sender successfully and tried to RSPL, again the phone wouldn't reboot after completion.
Any ideas?

Great, now I can't even upgrade my phone using zune or cab sender anymore... I'm stuck on NODO.
Does anyone have the STOCK Telus ROM, and not the modified one like the one provided?
yup I have it

Telus rom is a test rom
you flash telus just to take its touch driver and radio
then you flash default shipped rom (delete SPL_Signed.nbh from shipped rom to save the drivers you got from telus)
then you can go with spl tools
thnx

When you say Flash Default Shipped ROM, are you meaning the TELUS one, or the Cingular one?
I then update using RUU or GoldCard?

The Default rom that you can name it shipped is Cingular
u use TELUS ROM when you have a trouble with touch driver ( like lock screen bug ) , or when u have trouble in call transmission driver ( making , reciving call problems )
note: u can't flash telus rom with goldcard method else you have a security unlocked bootloader !!
u can flash TELUS ROM with rom utility that come with it
after you take benefit of flashing telus, u cannot go with it, u have to return to Cingular one, note: delete SPL_signed.nbh from Cingular Rom to save drivers that u installed from TELUS, then you go with spl tools
sorry for my bad english

I don't quite understand. My phone was bought for, and is on the TELUS network. I had upgraded it to 7.8 using cab sender, but really wanted some features (Wifi Tethering, Custom Alerts), so I tried the custom ROM route.
The only thing I've been able to successfully install on it is the TELUS Test ROM, and upgrade it to NODO using Zune (Mango updates failed - I think because it wants a newer firmware, which I have the cab files, but they fail installing)
The Telus Test ROM that I had downloaded uses firmware 22.50.09.10402.661 and bootloader: 1.4.2250.2 (113577).
If I try to install RSPL/HSPL right now, the phone does not restart after completion, thus never gets into RSPL mode to do HSPL.
I recall trying to use RUU to put on Cingular ROM, however it always failed, I believe saying that Vendor ID is invalid.
I'm really frustrated with this, but I don't know how to move forward to install RSPL/HSPL.

steps to solve all of your problem
cus your device originally on telus network , you cannot install Cingular while you have locked bootlooader
solution :
1- search in forums about , unlocking boot loder
2- unlock your bootloader ( you know that your bootloader is unlocked when u see on the top of your screen , "security unlocked" when you enter the boot screen (4 colored screen)
3- install Cingular ROM and you will succeed in that after u unlock your bootloader\
4- using spl tools now u can unlock spl to get HSPL
5- install cerebellum 7.8 ROM that will find all features enabled on it ( internet sharing , etc)
and you don't need zune update anymore
note: you will find it hard to unlock your bootloader but it worth try
search in other devices forums , all are same

RSPL/HSPL is unlock bootloader not deeply enough to allow you to change the hole operator ROM , (change from telus to cingular)
you have to full unlock bootloader

I'm really not finding anything useful here... I see a lot for Android, but nothing for an HTC Windows Phone. Are you referring to an IMEI unlock? ChevronWP7? Unbranding? Interop Unlock? WP7 Root Tools?
Thanks
I've now managed to developer unlock my Surround. What's the next step from here?
