[Q] Thumb Drive bricked - Thinkpad Tablet General

I have used my USB Thumb Drive with my TPTablet before but today it killed the drive.
Plugged it in and it was not recognized.
Went to setting and the "mount USB" was pale and I could not get it to go on.
When I plugged the TDrive back in my PC it told me that it had to be formatted.
What is going on??
This is 64 GB Kensington DataTraveler, formatted exFAT.
The funny thing is the same drive worked before. I'm afraid to try my new 128 GB drive now as I don't want it bricked.

Still not working
I found a utility that allowed me to format to FAT32 but the TPT is still not recognizing it.
I have tried it with the TPT on and with it off, it still tells me that there is nothing availale and I cannot click on the "mount the disk" tab in settings.
Help please

USB drive problem

Hi, just bought a PNY 8GB USB drive FAT32, when i plug it in HC recognizes it, now here is the problem, when i try to transfer a 600MO file from the transformer to USB drive it fails after 5 or 10 percents. Now i tried to activate the debbuging mode and it worked...but once only. So i decided to restart HC, try again and it worked again but only once again ! Why do i have to restart HC in order to be able to transfer files ?

Can't Get NTFS External Hard Drive To Mount.

I have a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB USB 3.0 Ultra-Portable External Hard Drive
I can't get it to mount with my A500.
I'm running Taboonay Custom Rom (4.010_Com_Gen1)
I am Rooted.
I'm On 3.1
Kernel Version 2.6.36.3
I've tried apps like Drive Mount, NTFS Mount and none of them find my hard drive. How do i get it to mount.
When I had a similar problem this is the steps I went through to finally figure out what was going on:
I checked the portables for what filing system it was using FAT32 or NTFS.
One hdd was running FAT32 so it was automatically appearing under settings as the external usb device
The NTFS would not always be found in Drive mount but I have found if I plug the hdd in before I turn on the Acer then be really really patient after it has booted up it would appear in Drive Mount.
I have found if you go into Drive Mount too quickly after the tablet has fired up it won't be in Drive Mount. There seems to be a delay on reading the USB and I have found that it is nowhere near instantaneous once the tablet has fired up.
Once mounted it appears as /mnt/sdb1 (from memory).
Hope this helps, I find patience when using the tablet the best thing!

Moto X Style OTG not working as expected aftet Marshmallow, how do I fix it?

Ok, So I used to use a moto G. On that the OTG used to work like the usb on my laptop plug in a Fat32 drive and it'll easily read and write to it no problem.
But I switched to a Moto X Style with marshmallow and when I first connected a Fat32 formatted pendrive it asked me to reformat it to make it work on the phone. Which I did, after that in ES File explorer theres another folder within the root of the USB drive to which I can write but those files cant be seen on my computer or any other computer for that matter, just the phone. Cant even see that folder anywhere else.
??
What the hell is up with the OTG? How can I access my drives without having to format them and retain write capability as well as the ability to read my written files on windows and what not? Its a new phone so I do not want to root it.
Thanks for the help.
You may have messed up somewhere by formatting it into internal storage or something.
Backup all files from the pen and format it in you pc to either fat32 or exfat depending on drive capacity and needs, eject it and plug it into the phone. It should work fine, also always eject drive before disconnecting it from the phone and if your pc says the drive has issues and wants to fix them ignore it.

Well it formatted it as portable storage. I tried reformatting to Fat32 from my computer but the same thing happened it wouldnt open unless I formatted it for the phone. What gives? And yeah I know microsofts error thingy does more harm than good.
UPDATE:
Its working now, reformatted using my windows machine. Was using a mac before but for some reason the phone just doesnt like the way the mac reformats it. However my SanDisk ultra dual usb still wont work. Time to buy a new otg pendrive.

Hard drives keeps crashing I think

I bought a WD 4TB Portable HDD and formatted it as internal storage but it started crashing and saying in the storage section, "safe to remove device", then I bought a Desktop HDD, formatted it as internal storage and now that is doing the same thing. I unplug it then plug it back in but nothing happens. The Shield wont bring recognize it. It isnt showing up in ES Flie Explorer. I have to reformat it to work but I will lose all my data again but I obviously dont want to keep happening. Any help or suggestions please.
