I am having the same problem. No body seems to know what is going on and my phone is out of warranty so Samsung wont fix it without me paying!

My Samsung galaxy 3 has given up,
I saw an firmware update and started upgrading ( using KIES) . In middle of upgrade an error accoutred. KIES asked me to note down the error code and run the repair program from another PC .
Since i did not had another PC i rebooted the same PC again and this time was able to successfully upgrade the build number : FROYODDJP6.
Next day onwards phone was not able to pick any incoming sound properly. even while doing audio recording i was able to hear a lot of disturbances . So I am unable to use the phone as the other party cannot hear my voice clearly .
Since i had not rooted the device and phone is still under warranty , i went to SAMSUNG centre. I was told that phone had some liquid and they will not honour any warranty. They asked me to foot a bill of 4100 Rs which I declined.
Please advise on what to do now. I will never go to SAMSUNG again , looking for a sturdy phone like defy with 1 GHz processor.
I really think you should try updating from another pc.Your friend's or something or try factory reset.Don't try to flash another roms.If you are not familiar and it will also void your warranty.If phone really had liquid you should go for option samsung suggested good luck .
Samsung support is piece of crap.
Try the following before paying them the bill.
1. Let your phone dry in mild sun, or Hair drier after removing batt & back cover + battery
2. When you're sure your phone is dry (without damaging it, from overheating etc) flash any custom ROM Indroid, kyrillos etc AFTER BACKUP of your current firmware, using Odin #see tutes available in the development forum. As it can be error of your firmware.
Official firmware are crap anyway. Ask for any help you need with that & give us your feedback if you care. Best of luck.

I have notices something about my phone before and after update
at first if i switch on my 3G the phone becomes very hot and reboot .
Now if i open any application with 3G or Data or if it becomes hot ..then it reboot ..
My only option was to freeze my phone for a while in the fridge to cool it off but it is only temporal
Help me!! is it a software problem or hardware problem ....
any great suggestions
because now i can't even go data or 3G for 3 mins ... then it keep rebooting and rebooting

I had the exact same problem before. I toke the phone to Vodafone repair center and told me it is a hardware issue and require to replace the main board and it will take too long to fix and just gave me a new phone , Now I have no problem at all
You may install stock rom and test it. If still meet so, i think have ptoblem with hardware. Bring to guarantee

2) When i attending call and then take off the note from ear, the phone screen doesnt display, proximity sensor doesnt recognize the normal mode and the screen is still blank, I have to reboot to get back to normal.
3) people on the other side cant hear me properly, so i have to call more than once..and then they can hear me.
Everything happens randomly, how to prove this to samsung service center?

I went to samsung service center, where the guy just update firmware and gave me the device, which i already did and can easily do..
when i explain him its hardware issue, but he is saying me to prove it..how can i prove..it happens randomly..

Arrive to the samsung service center again, tell them your problem persist with the new formware. If they refuse glto help start yelling. There is no reason a consumer should suffer. For you 800$ is big money. For samsung its small chage.

hi, after using Gear Vr, my phone suddenly closed.
and is not currently open..
Phone cannot be charged/no bootloader/no recovery/no download mode
and key combinations don't work.

Similar thing happened to my A8 (SM-A800F) also when I put it for charging one morning. It suddenly got hard bricked, when I check after some time. Samsung customer care diagnosed that the motherboard has spoiled. The local repair shop got it working again. The repair guy told he had put new power IC on motherboard and suggested to avoid charging samsung A-series phones overnight, due to inherent issue.

hi guys my A8 (SM-A8OOI) is hang at samsung logo itself.. frist it got hang slow while i watching video then i trry to restart then now totally dead whenever i try to open the phone it got stuck at the logo itself any idea????
My daughter has a 14 month old Samsung S8, it's not rooted, unlocked... it's running the stock ROM.
For no apparent reason it has developed an "Encryption failed" error and offers the option to Reset only. That's fine and we tried it, it didn't work..... we tried in Recovery mode, again no good... still have the Encryption failed error.
So we took it to a Samsung Service Centre here in the UK (EE in Bluewater). Straight away they said.... ah, it has a crack in the screen.... that might be the problem. There is a small crack across the bottom corner, but the screen is fully functioning. They did try to flash the phone with a new rom, apparently with a Samsung official tool.... I think they called it SamVer?? but that didn't work so they went on to say we would have to pay.
I then spoke to Samsung and they explained they would repair the phone but the screen would have to be replaced because they wouldn't be able to refit the damaged screen. I was obviously not happy about this as I think the issue is likely to be the motherboard or an OTA update they've pushed out. Samsung Customer Support said they would call me back tonight before 10pm (it's now 10:17pm). So I've not happy and no further forward with this phone.
Sorry to ramble on about this but it would be really helpful to be armed with a bit more information if anyone else here has had a similar problem or have had Samsung basically twisting their arm to pay for an unnecessary repair to repair a faulty phone?
Any help would be gratefully received.
