Ok so i bought my 3rd HD2 off ebay the other day and it arrived this morning. I knew it was faulty already but ive got it charged up and it turns on, the weird part is it always boots to the HSPL screen (red, blue, green). The only button im pressing is the power button, but it always goes to hspl. It already had HSPL on it, i installed the radio and magldr and tried booting it again but no matter what i try, it always goes to the hspl screen. any suggestions?

Happened to me 1 time and not reached a solution!
I'm curious somebody would suggest one?!
have you tried task29?
Sounds like a cracked or faulty volume rocker cable
Maybe you might find some luck reading through this thread. Seems a lot of people have had this problem and the instructions in that thread fixed the op problem.
I don't think it is from the volume rocker robin being cracked would cause it to always boot to the bootloader. It would though make it were you could not boot to bootloader. Np ow the volume down button being stuck in the pressed position would cause the device to boot to bootloader on every boot.

As far as I understood this is the case here: booting everytime(no matter what!) in bootloader only! Correct me if I'm wrong...

I doubt it, in my case I replaced main flex containing voume rockers/buttons but nothing changed: no matter what phone goes to bootloader only!

More likely, I suspect a hardware issue on motherboard...

My cousin has a mytouch 4g, and the other day she shattered the screen. She bought a replacement screen online and replaced it today.
When she booted it up, it came to the attached image. She said her physical button's don't work at all so she can't select anything.
Help?
It's booting in hboot no matter what? If she pulls the battery and puts it back in and turns it on, it still boots into hboot?

It's booting into hboot which happens when you boot while holding down Power and Volume Down. If her buttons aren't working properly, that may explain the issue.
If her physical buttons don't work - they might not be connected properly, which means - the phone might not be assembled properly. The buttons might be in "constant on" state, thus the phone automatically boots to the bootloader.

Thanks guys. her hardware keys are broken...
So I guess we have to fix that.
So recently my HTC HD2 touch screen has been working on and off.. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it dosen't?? I have searched on Google for help but everyone gets different answers on how to fix it. Some say its a hardware problem, others say it is a Rom thing, and most say just send it back to HTC or your provider to get it fixed. But I dont have a warranty on mine anymore, and I live in Canada & use rogers, so they don't carry the phone?? So I am really stuck and have thought of a couple solutions but would like to ask you XDA forum people if it has worked for you??
I was thinking mine is a digitizer problem so I post some pics here to ask if anyone else gets these problems? and if so how it might be fixed
I also thought of buying a new Digitizer from ebay and replacing mine?? has anybody that and been successful with that??
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350480051781&category=43304&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
Thank You for reading and taking your time to help me
The pictures at the bottom if you notice the opinion menu should not have a selected silent mode when I haven't pressed it. and the home screen should not have the light blue button lite up because I haven't pressed it?? (its in the corner of the screen) and the last pic if i am correct the "turn on usb storage" should not be blue it should be white since i haven't clicked it..
Did you find a solution to your problem? The same thing happened to my sisters phone just recently. Did replacing the digitizer work for you? Somewhere I read that pressing the end button hard enough to 'nudge' the digitizer (which is located under the end button) fixes the issue. For how long and how much truth is in that? I don't know haven't tried it.
hey!
i had the same exact problem, my htc suddenly stopped working (touchscreen) and it was weird because I never spilled any water on it, so I tried what you said, pushing hard the red button and it worked! at least it worked for me
pressing hard on the end button works for me
Hi thanks for the tip. this works for me for now...
wonder is this a sign that it is going to wear off soon.
CRAZY!!!! It worked!
Wow! Thanks alot for the tip, screen fixed again..
Where id this red button?
I think it is or POWER button or red small restart button under battery cover.

I am amazed that this actually worked! I pressed it with my teeth a few times and the screen is now fully working again!! Before I found this thread I was on the phone with T-Mobile already setting up an exchange for a new phone. Which normally they would send you a new HD2 but T-Mobile no longer has the HD2 so they make you choose from the LG MyTouch, Samsung Exhibit 2 and the HTC Radar. I was soooo ****ing pissed because none of those phones are customizable like the HD2. I did a hard reset on my phone so now I'm redownloading all my apps...pain in the ass but at least I get to keep my phone.

Okay, I might have gotten excited too soon. Cause now the touch screen is on and off working...I don't know what to do. I don't want a ****ty new phone. I want my beloved HD2.
it worked for me too...awesome thanks yall
EDIT: worked temporarily for me, touchscreen stopped working after few minutes
Mine is on/off working but I've found that screen works as long as end button is not used, when I use the red button I have to wait until it sleeps to wake it with any other button instead. Maybe a couple of times before finally get it to work.
Don't know if its related. Thanks in advance.

For everyone with this problem, It means that your hard buttons are wearing out, getting sticky. Its like if the esc key on a keyboard gets stuck, nothing can be done because it keeps esc'ing, well the same applies here on the HD2. Sh*t happens. Sorry.

Thanks a lot, Htc hd2 is in live again!
After experiencing the same issue, I was also ready to buy new one, maybe Htc Desire HD.
I was running MIUI GB, I done hard reset several times, I downgrade the phone to W6,5, but nothing Happen, I went to HTC but the phone wasn't anymore under waranty and they ask me €240.00 to fix it, then I decide to change by myself the touch screen + Digitizer €45.00 average on Ebay, and/or keypad key button flex ribbon cable parts €7.00 average on Ebay.
And then waiting for the parts I'd just install Screen off an d Lock Apkdecided to don't use anymore the power red button until that I saw this thread. To simple to be true, but I tried, and it works, not every time but most of the time.
So it is just to change the keypad key button flex ribbon cable parts €7.00 average on Ebay.
Thanks again to all of you.
Screen Issues
My screen froze up occasionally as well. Seemed like more of a software issue rather than hardware; however, when I replaced the screen it went away completely.
cannot beleive it worked
pushed really hard on tghe call end button and now the key touchscreen works. God bless the internet.
o.k. I screwed up and flashed a Transformer apk not paying attention to the apk labled TF apk.
I have the dreaded black screen with vibration but I have a message with red letters "Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000004)."
Am I screwed??????? Can it be fixed?
Acer sent me a rma to repair.
Am I wasting my time by sending it in?
Try to reflash it using Method 2 in this thread:

3.0.1 will be buggy as hell but do that, root it, and then throw a new ROM on.
tried the volume + holding power on button then switch screen lock. no go
tried the volume - holding power on button. no go.
tried the reset button down with power on button. no go.
the screen stays black on buzzes. sometimes i have that message and sometimes i don't.
I had this problem also and was able to recover so give this a try.

I just got my tablet back today. Acer had a paper in the box that said they replaced the mainboard.

Yotaphone 2 from Tinydeal, so running KitKat.
Suddenly no power switch working, no volume control, and does not appear to charge. Blank front screen. Mirror screen OK on back.
When receiving a call the main screen will light up and work. Battery is 85%.
I've read elsewhere that the tinydeal phones have been flashed (rooted?) so it's inadvisable to try a factory reset.
I can change volume with the sliders on the back screen, but the volume slider does not appear on either screen just by pushing the volume buttons.
Any ideas, or is it another case of returning it to tinydeal?
I just cant find the radio folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\yotaphone_flasher. I only have "drivers" folder there. I did all the previous steps as in the guide.... What is wrong please?

You first have to run yotaflasher and have it download a firmware. After that you will have a Radio folder in the Firmware folder.

If the hardware buttons (volume) are not working there seems to be something wrong with your phone. This is however where the simcard is inserted. Have you tried removing the simcard tray and inserting it again? If the volume controls don't seem to work after that you phone may be faulty and it is best to return your phone as you seem to be the only one with this problem.
No, I the folder just wasnt there. Though I used the method of first flashing newest 4.4 EU firmware (which worked) and then turned on and Android automatially downloaded 5.0 update. It was ****ing scary I have to say as it took about 0,5-1 hour with phone turning on and off so sporadically that I thought that it was actually dead in between. No HW keys worked during the process (yes I freaked out) and display was turned off. At the end battery actually died even though it was connected to PC by usb. But I didnt know that so as the last resort I plugged it into charger and I got directly to 5.0. Method was actually pretty flawless but the way the phone looked was really scary. (99% of that time time it looked and behaved as bricked) - black screen no feedback from any combination of HW keys.

Well, whilst waiting for advice from tinydeal after uploading a video to them, I left the phone alone and it took about 12 days for the back of the phone to lock, signifying that the battery had finally totally run down. I then plugged the phone back onto its charger and held the power button for about 15 seconds. Suddenly the charger light came on, then went off after about ten seconds, then came back on again. Pressing the power button again brought the front screen back to life!
So I conclude that the problem sometimes solvable with phones with a removeable battery (reboot the phone with a battery disconnection) can't be done with the Yotaphone. The downside here is that the Yotaphone battery takes so long to run down (12 days!)
I have exactly the same problem as the OP. No Sim card tho, just WiFi. I have just had the phone for about 3 weeks.

After my experience I suggest leaving wi fi on to help run the battery down.
Someone else on another website suggests holding the power button and both volume buttons for about 15 seconds to force a reboot.... but that didn't work for me.
I did a hard reset, but no difference, except unlocking the rear screen is easier now (?). I'll let the phone run down as suggested...

Hello, I have the same problem. Suddenly vol up, vol down and power button stop to work. But if I hold them together (vol up or down with power) then they work. So it seems like the software problem for me.
I have Android 4.4.3
update: I flashed my yotaphone to 5.0 and now everything works fine!
Draining battery solved it for me!
As per the title. My keys would not work. I let the phone run until the battery died and now they work again.
Flashing different firmware didn't help me...
I have a CN YotaPhone 2 from Gearbest
I have had a M-G900F running CM for some time. The hardware seems pretty tough. Accidentally dropped it about 5' onto a hard tile floor and it turned off. No big deal I thought, screen still intact, just put the back on and reboot it. Nothing. Nothing whatsoever. Symptoms:
When pressing power button, phone vibrates as if turning on but nothing happens, it does start to get warm though
No sounds or other indication that it's just the screen disconnected
No lights while plugged into charge
Can't get into download mode or recovery mode
Tried multiple other batteries, no difference
When plugged into WIndows PC, recognised as Android device and drivers automatically installed
Other than that, zero signs of life whatsoever
Is it gone forever? Which hardware part is likely to be at fault?
I'm not too bothered about the phone itself but I do want the data on it. Without being able to power it on, is there any way at all to get data off the phone? USB jig?

All the evidence points to it not being a dead screen. Otherwise it would make boot noises etc.
if the screen doesnt do anything nor the light on the front but it vibrates, its likely the screen is dead or the ribbon cable going from the GPU to the panel went bad, but i dont think its bricked. There are cables that will show the phones display on a tv or monitor via hdmi that could prove or disprove my theory, but its pointless. A replacement screen will likely fix it, but the cost to do so would make me balk at that option

thats all well and good, but it could also be part of the mobo having died with the screen. Not sure. But if it vibrates when the power button is pressed, its obviously doing something.... anyways, i think its a paperweight at this point

I hope you're right that it's just a dead screen. My instinct says it's something more serious. Is it worth stripping it apart myself and trying to reattach the ribbon cable? Or perhaps I could buy a screen off ebay, attach it long enouhh to recover files then sell it on again?
