o.k. I screwed up and flashed a Transformer apk not paying attention to the apk labled TF apk.
I have the dreaded black screen with vibration but I have a message with red letters "Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000004)."
Am I screwed??????? Can it be fixed?
Acer sent me a rma to repair.
Am I wasting my time by sending it in?
Try to reflash it using Method 2 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276227
3.0.1 will be buggy as hell but do that, root it, and then throw a new ROM on.
tried the volume + holding power on button then switch screen lock. no go
tried the volume - holding power on button. no go.
tried the reset button down with power on button. no go.
the screen stays black on buzzes. sometimes i have that message and sometimes i don't.
I had this problem also and was able to recover so give this a try.
Half way down the page is the info I used Good Luck

I know.
I just got my tablet back today. Acer had a paper in the box that said they replaced the mainboard.
I was really hoping they would have installed ice cream for me to test out for them but no luck.
So know I am rerooting now, just trying to find a rom to try now.
Guess Acer couldn't figure it out

Ok so i bought my 3rd HD2 off ebay the other day and it arrived this morning. I knew it was faulty already but ive got it charged up and it turns on, the weird part is it always boots to the HSPL screen (red, blue, green). The only button im pressing is the power button, but it always goes to hspl. It already had HSPL on it, i installed the radio and magldr and tried booting it again but no matter what i try, it always goes to the hspl screen. any suggestions?

Happened to me 1 time and not reached a solution!
I'm curious somebody would suggest one?!
have you tried task29?
Sounds like a cracked or faulty volume rocker cable
Maybe you might find some luck reading through this thread. Seems a lot of people have had this problem and the instructions in that thread fixed the op problem.
I don't think it is from the volume rocker robin being cracked would cause it to always boot to the bootloader. It would though make it were you could not boot to bootloader. Np ow the volume down button being stuck in the pressed position would cause the device to boot to bootloader on every boot.

As far as I understood this is the case here: booting everytime(no matter what!) in bootloader only! Correct me if I'm wrong...

More likely, I suspect a hardware issue on motherboard...
I just updated my nexus 7 to the 4.3 ota update and now it goes to the neon "X" screen and no further. I tried to boot into recovery and I get a pic of android on his back with a red triangle ! Above home with the words " No command" eventually leaving it on that screen it will try and boot by itself. Again it just stays on the X screen forever. How screwed am I? Is there another way into recovery or am I at "Use it for a paperweight and go buy a new one" screwed?
When it says no command try holding the up volume key then press the power key. What happens?
Sent from my Nexus 7(2012) that has zero issues.

I get the menu to clear cache, reboot, factory reset, I tried clearing cache. No work. So I tried factory reset. Done that twice now and still hangs on the "X" screen forever.

Ok so quick update. I called google, they have a 24 hr number for warranty help by the way, and I was thinking I was going to get an RMA to send it in or get it replaced. The guy at google said that they were aware of the problem and that it was a "glitch" with the OTA updates. Anyway he told me that if I leave the Nexus hanging on the X screen the battery would die and then after I fully charged it back up and turned it on it forces a full boot. Not sure if it will work but Blaise with Google said that others have called with the same issue and that solved it. So I'm gonna give it a try. I will post back and let you know what happens. Crossing my fingers but not holding my breath. He shot me an email from his account and told me that if it didn't work to email him back directly and he would get the warranty process started.
OK new update. It's a good thing I didn't hold my breath. I'm still stuck on the x screen even after letting battery die and charging back up. I also just found out that I am two months out of my warranty. This sucks. Anybody figure out how to fix this it would be most appreciated.
I recently dropped my phone which caused a hairline fracture just through the top portion of the glass. Enough to also break the LCD underneath.
I want to sell the phone to subsidize for the next phone, so I need to data wipe the phone (Sorry, I'm in college but also working to save up money).
I'm not very sophisticated as most here, but I am familiar with using Odin as I think that is my only option here without a screen. I think I can get to the download screen blind. Is that true?
I know the phone is working you just can't see anything. Everything but the screen works - the alarm rings, I get notifications, emails, texts, etc.
Should I use Odin to flash a new ROM to wipe the phone? Can anyone please direct me to a working ROM link?
Thanks, guys!...
Hello I have a friend working for sprint as a technician. to do a data wipe without the screen, you need to press and hold the power button and the volume up key.
---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:28 AM ----------
and also, if your phone was activated on your sprint phone #, make sure to swap the device, so when you sell it. the buyer will be able to activate on their phone number as well. it has to be a clean ESN / IMEI

Volume up and power button doesn't wipe data. Do you mean boot into recovery and wipe from there? You need the screen to really see what is going on.

Volume down + power will get you to download mode so you can ODIN... then you have to hit volume up to get past the warning message( somebody smarter chime in if Im wrong) then you could ODIN firmware or recoveries

Actually, I was finally able to do this, but ODIN doesn't seem to be wiping the data. My alarm etc still rings!!!
This has helped me when I had a broken screen. It allows you to get display on your computer. http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
i woke up this morning and noticed that my phone was off. i tried to switch it on but nothing happened i tried pulling out the battery then it shows the logo for around 2 - 4 seconds then shows a black screen ( i think it shutsdown ) i pressed the power button hoping it would turn on but did not. it only turns on when i pull out the battery again and put it back in.
i tried going to the recovery and download mode but shuts the screen off after 2 seconds of booting. need help guys anyone had the same problem?
Sounds a lot like your power button is malfunctioning.

Your phone shouldn't turn on by itself when you put the battery inside. Trust me, I tried.
In normal conditions, you put the battery in and nothing happens until you press the power button.
In abnormal conditions, such as yours, you put the battery in and it turns on by itself. That means there's some problem with the power button circuits.
I would also try a different battery though.
I suggest you try to root it and then flash cyanogyn mod into it. There are many guides online. I can help you if you need it.

I think your phone is boot looping. Mine did it just a few days ago and I fixed it by rooting it and flashing cyanogyn mod and now it works like a gem! I am using it right now in fact! This should work for you as well.

You need to do a few things before you root but I can tell you
---------- Post added at 10:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 PM ----------
First, you have to remove the battery, hold volume, home, and power button to get to odin mode.

This is a very basic explanation. From what I see when the battery is put in the phone turns on automatically. But it's a start, hence my thanking it.
Anyway, try holding down the Odin mode key combination (Vol down + home + power) as you put the battery in. If that doesn't work, try not using the power key. Get back to me so I can help
I was in the middle of sending a whatsapp message when my phone frozze and died. I have tried all the usual power down , up and down volumes for sustained periods of time and its still non responsive.
When plugging it into a pc and holding power I get a qualcomm USB COM4 device and thats it. Other than usual steps is there anything else I can try.
Its 1 month out of warranty and im tamping,.
Contact Google support and explain the issue. They approved RMA for my device although the warranty expired last November

Your phone is stuck in EDL (9008) mode. There is a "How To" sticky in General. There have been a few success stories but it's been real hit or miss. It depends if you can gather up all the correct files -and- if the phone is in the "correct" downloader mode. Good luck to you.
