Hi, today I plugged in my Bravo to charge and it intermitently went in and out.
I unplugged to avoid anymore damage, I'm sure it is a hardware problem, because when I hold it in a certain position it would charge and wont go away. I tried with multiple chargers, cables and on the pc, to no avail.
My question is: How can I fix this? I feel comfortable disassembling these devices. BTW it is no longer under warranty, not that it matters as I am not in the US.

Where are you from? Try buying that USB port on ebay or other place!
Thanks. But I couldn't find the usb port specifically for the bravo. Is there a known compatible spare parts, would the defy's do?
I managed to get it working, I bent the inner stick on the usb port a little bit down, and it is working fine for now.

If it is working its really good, I think you could try with a defy's one, you know the share lots of things in common!
Awhile ago I found the culprit for this problem that kept getting back every now and then. I'm posting my solution for reference.
It was the 1000mA charger that I was using, now I'm using a 700mA and haven't had any problem since, I doubt it was the 1000mA charger as it is working fine with other devices. Perhaps the Bravo couldn't handle it.
When I tried with other chargers they were of the same amperage, with the PC maybe I was desperate and didn't notice it was charging fine.

Well I had with my old phone the same problem but I recognized that there was some dirt in the charging port of the phone.
I removed this with my nail and it worked again.
Probably it won't help you but you'll never know
Try connecting the charge cable to a USB port on your computer for a few hours. You may not see anything right away but eventually the phone will begin to charge.
i got this issue few days back..the charging was slow..cant even reach 100 when im on the phone..its pathetic..swap with my old lg phone model cable bam!the old cable built was much rugged compared to nexus 4..
I have exactly the same problem - when it ran out of power today, it switched itself off normally, and then when I inserted the cable, it didn't charge. not even the battery animation thing came up!
I hope somebody can find a solution.
Oh yeah, and I checked in the port for dust, and used countless alternate wires and power adapters

When you run the battery all the way down it takes a while to start a charge. Just leave it plugged in for a while and it'll go. I'm not sure if it does this every time because I don't drain my phone to 0% but it has happened before on my old phone and I've seen it happen to iphones as well.
Same problem

Did you ever find a solution or send the phone in to LG? I'm having this exact problem right now. I've tried three different micro USB wall chargers for hours at a time as well as charging it through the USB port on my computer. I get absolutely no charge and I have never had any problems at all until last night when it simply would not charge.

Try pressing the power button and immediately the low volume, wait like 3 to 5 seconds and it'll restarts. Not the first time this happens to me and wish to know what's going on! don't know if there's an app that's doing this or hardware issue...
Try cleaning the port like mentioned. There's videos in YouTube

ahh this problem...i had the exact same problem with my gnex...its just that the metal plate of the micro usb port of your phone has bent down a bit which is why it doesnt charge...the easiest way to fix that is to take something flat and lift the metal plate gently..not too much otherwise you'll break it...just lift it up slightly and it should charge normally then...Hopefully :fingers-crossed:
Randomly my note 3 has started having issues charging. I'm not quite sure why. It gives an error about needing the factory charger, however I'm using the factory charger and usb 3.0 cable. Sometime a reboot fixes it, but not always. I've tried using different charges, and even a regular usb 2.0 cable and it still does the same thing. Is the port maybe going bad? If so, has any one replaced theirs? Any help is appreciated. I have wireless charging, but there are definitely times I need the quick charging of the oem charger.

That is the problem with intermittent behavior. It is difficult to say that "after" is caused by "before" because you don't know when the intermittent behavior will show up and when it will not. Any experiment in the presence of an intermittent behavior runs the risk of coming to a conclusion that is an "ex post facto fallacy".
I suppose your hypotheses of a damaged or loose USB connector is the most probable, given everything else you mentioned, although since you don't have a second Samsung/OEM charger, a problem with that specific charger can't be ruled completely out.
Note that the USB 3.0 Micro-B connector "extra" pins (the part of the connector which is not used by a USB 2.0 micro connector) doesn't have power/ground in it (there is a shield ground, but this isn't the same thing as the power supply ground)... so your tests with a USB 2.0 cable don't resolve anything about the connector, but do indicate that the problem is probably not your Samsung OEM USB 3.0 cable.
Those mini-usb connectors are pretty horrid mechanically for devices that need to be plugged in several times daily; I guess the phone industry assumes that consumers will toss their devices after two years, so the power connector only needs to survive about 1000 - 2000 plug-in/removal events.
The only conclusive way to eliminate the possibility that you simply have a failing USB connector would be to use a spare battery charger - and that means buying both a charger and a spare battery if you want your phone on almost 24/7.
Sorry I'm not more help.
Common issue. New cable may be needed.
My 2 cents...i had this problem while using custom rom..however, taking the battery out for about 30 sec..switching back to stock Rom using safestrap rebooted and it all went back to normal charging ok. Went back to custom rom again no issues after that...

I tired this last night and unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. I have multiple OEM chargers and none of them are working correctly. Once my wife gets home today I'll try her cable to see if it makes a difference. I'm really hoping I can get this figured out because I have never received a good refurbished phone from vzw under warranty. I may even resort to just using the wireless charging and ordering the oem battery/external charger combo. Has anyone ever replaced the port itself?
@streetracer8605
FWIW
I have never done this repair, and it's not too encouraging that the iFixit teardown in Step 7 mentions that the USB connector sub-assembly is "glued to the phone". (Looks like step 5 could be skipped maybe).
I note that the images in this eBay listing shows "SM-N9005" stenciled right on the assembly ... I wonder if this sub-assembly would be any different from carrier to carrier? Seems sort of unlikely that Sammy would silk-screen a specific variant Model # on that assembly if it were the exact same part on all variants. (But maybe you can inquire of the eBay seller - at least the piece prices are pretty inexpensive). I didn't spend much time searching; maybe there are other sellers with the SM-N900V assembly.
good luck

I found some videos on youtube of people replacing them, it seems like it's one of the easier parts to replace on the phone. I'll probably give it a try. I'll post the result if that fixes my issue. From doing some reading about the part, it is semi carrier specific because where the antenna cable goes. I'm hoping to get this done sometime this week. For now I'm just using my wireless charger to make due.

That does make a bit of sense.
If you find a supplier for the SM-N900V part and it's in the same price range, send me a PM with the link... I might buy one on speculation (I typically don't buy a new phone every two years so it might be a good idea to have a spare part on hand just in case the port goes bad).
I installed a new usb port and now it seems to have fixed the problem. My usb 3.0 cable fits snuggly again and I'm not getting any weird messages. Hope this helps any one who has the issue

Good news! Do you have a URL for the part supplier?
I experienced this today with my Note 3. I have all kinds of charging cables and right now after a few reboots a random USB 3.0 charger that I got from Amazon is doing the job. I noticed the phone no longer charging when I plugged it into the USB 3.0 port in my computer last night but I was doing a heavy amount of tethering so I didn't think all that much of it at the time.
Recently, my phone lost the main feature of USB-C charging. It can charge as normal ONLY on one direction. When i flip the USB-C connector to another direction, no charging. Anyone had this issue? I seemed to have this problem after updating to 7.1.2.
Note: i am using huawei stock charger and cable. Has been fine for a year.
Can you roll back to a previous release and see if it fixes it? If so that would at least rule out damaged pins inside the phones port or the cable itself. Same way if it doesn't fix it, you can narrow it down to a hardware issue. Then try another charger to see if it's the phone or the cable. Hope you get it sorted!

Last week my stock c to c charger stopped working. I had to use my Choetech A to c and it worked fine. I ordered a new one from amazon which arrived and is working.
After reading your post I tried my old charger, turned it around (like u said) and it worked. Then i turned it around again and it still worked. So cool! I have an extra charger!
Not so fast. I just went to check my phone and once again its stopped charging. Switching it around does nothing.
Could be as simple as a short in the cable but in my experience, if that's the case, you can usually get it to work by shaking, manipulating the wire.
Could all be coincidence and it was just time for a new charger but your post and my issue made me consider there's something else going on. Like you this happened shortly after updating to 7.1.2
Did either of you try compressed air to blow the cable end and phone connecter?
I tested another usb c to usb a cable. And it worked fine on both directions. So i think it's the stock cable or charger that is malfunctioning. I guess i have to buy new cable.

Very strange issue haven't heard of this before?
I have this same issue. I tried to buy a replacement board/port on ebay, but the piece I got was dead on arrival. The replacement wouldnt charge nor would the mic work so I put the old one back in. I have a few cables that are fine either way, and some that are only one way. annoying.

So are you suggesting this is a phone issue or cable issue?
Let's call the situation a very expensive troubleshooting. I had bought higher end cables too going that was all it was, but that didn't help. I bought my 6p used, so i concluded that it was a bad Port from all is previous use and pocket lint. When i get good replacement I'll let you know if it helps. But that'll be a couple weeks i bet.
Had same issue. I ended up doing an insurance claim. Tried new cables and chargers no luck. It would only charge one way and would never fast charge
I have had the same issue, turns out it was the daughterboard that was faulty. Been trying to get hold of a replacement card but no luck so far..
this was a simple fix. ebay for roughly $12 and it is a very simple fix. one screw, two cables, presto fixo.

Hi so I bought the device about 3 months ago and it was awesome from the get go everything was great until today when i plugged in my device for charging. After a while i noticed it was charging very slowly so i instinctively disconnected and reconnected the type a usb cable from the charger. On reconnecting there was no indication of charging on my phone. I reconnected it one more time and nothing. So i took out my voltmeter and connected that in series. The moment i connected it it started to restart continuously. On off on off and i had to disconnect it to make it stop. I thought it might be a cable issue so i tried a micro usb cable with an adapter. Same result. Then i switched chargers, again same result. Whenever i disconnected the phone it would stop restarting. On one charger it did stay on but the voltage dropped to 3 volts and amps up to 2.3.
So i have concluded from above stated facts that the charging port/ board is kaput. If anyone has any suggestions on this please let me know.
After this i started to search for a replacement type c charging board for the redmi pro but i cant find any. Any help in finding one with international shipping would be appreciated.
Please leave Ur thoughts on my conclusion.
replace your usb c cable

Sorry for the late reply. I searched for the port on various websites when i had the issue but couldnt find anyone who sold redmi pro parts. Luckily however i found a seller on ALIEXPRESS who said that he did have it. He had asked me to pay using mi max charging board which was around 7 usd and then he would send The redmi pro charging board.
Sadly i cant find the seller who said this so i cant share the link here.
What u could do is go on aliexpress, find the largeat stores with the widest variety of xiaomi charging boards and ask them if they have it.

For me it realy was an easy fix and fast one too.
I was out of option at the time so what i thought of was that if i could find a 4 or 5 amp usb brick i could probably melt the shorted portion of the circuit. Ofcourse that in itself is dangerous because it could ruin the phone completely.
Anyways sadly i could not find any such power bricks. When i had almost lost all hope i thought of trying this out in my cars charger because car is already running on a DC system and is capable of providing alot of current to the usb charger, which is just a sort of regulated stepdown transformer. So hopefully that would provide the power i need. I started the car and then connected the phone. The moment i connected the phone to the charger the cars rpm lowered slightly for a second as if it were under stress and then went back to idle. AND MAGIC! It was fixed.
What it did was provide alot of current to the phone which heated and melted the shorted circuit. Since then ive had no issue with the phone.
It might be different for u though so i wouldnt recommend just doing what i did. If u have waranty claim that. If u r out of all options and u feel like ur phone is a dead piece of metal (like i did) then go ahead. But do not hold the phone in ur hand or anything while doing so because it can be dangerous in a number of ways. DC is much more unforgiving then AC.
Hope this helps.

are u serious? please help me, i have same problem :"
Hello boys! I have a very serious problem with my LE PRO 3. Since yesterday, the following is happening BUG: When I connect the charger, it does not load immediately. It only loads if I reboot the device. And if I take it out and put it back, it stops loading again. This also happens when I connect to the PC. The device only recognizes if I leave the cable connected and restart. With the headset the same thing. It only recognizes if I leave it connected and restart the device. I'm on the Cydrass Google edition ROM, and my device is the x720 version. I have already switched to other ROMs (LineageOs, Ressuection Remix, and even the Chinese STOCK ROM 26s, and the problem still persists!) Apparently it's a serious problem recognizing my USB port I do not know what else to do! Please, help me!
even first buy , do you have problem ?
To Vitor_147
Remember, if you change the stock original LeEco rom you cannot say "have a problem with my LePro3", it's no longer the original combo "LePro3" (hardware + software) so expect (and accept) anything (better or worse!) and report the defects to the rom developer.
Now some helping things!
Apart to clean the phone usb c port and to try a new usb cable, you can:
With the usb cable connected, switch the usb debug off (or on) (developer options) then check if your computer detect your phone.
Even if your computer doesn't detect the phone or your phone seems not charging battery, if the usb cable (and charger) is good in 99% of the cases it charges the battery even if not at full charge rate (expect a minimum 4 hours charge time).
Before to give up, the last try is to bring your phone back to factory conditions with everything (but everything!) under the exact conditions of how it came out of the factory, then you can start over there and have an idea of whether the phone has a hardware defect or if it's just a matter of software.
I hope you solve the problem, if you find the right solution please report it here, so other users can learn how to solve this problem! Cheers!

I already wrote this up in Omni thread, so I'll keep it short. I've also been experiencing this same issue for a while now, it first happened on stock rom, reboot solves it. Darko tried a fix in his eas kernel, seems to fix it (so maybe somehow kernel related). I believe it might be somehow related to the usb-c controller, cause I found cases online of similar issues with pixel phones (i believe the controller manufacturer is the same as in our phones). I actually know the exact moment when my problems first began, after I used my OTG adapter to connect a usb mouse. Few hours after that, the phone wouldnt charge.
{Disclaimer - this part is purely my theory}
I think it maybe somehow related to a safety "switch/fuse" of sorts, or something to do with static discharge or something similar, and here's why. I did a loot of trial and error since the first time it happened to me cause it scared the sh*t outta me, thinkin my phone is broken. I am vigilant about careful handling of usb ports and such, (ocd-ish really) so theres no way I physically damaged it, its not loose one bit, cleaned it out, tried wiggling the cable around anyway, has no effect, so I excluded the possibility of a faulty port/soldering. A few occurences to note
No1 - if I plug my phone in the charger first, and then plug the charger in the outlet, it breaks the port, I have to reboot to fix it. But plug the charger in the outlet first, then the cable to the phone - no problem. (Static discharge of sorts?)
No2 - since it started happening, the only way my usb-c OTG adapter works is if i first plug the adapter in the phone, and then the desired usb device in the adapter. If i try to plug the adapter in the phone w/say a usb stick already connected to it - no go, doesnt work.
Oh... I'm sorry for what happens to your phone! It's true the safest way to charge a phone avoiding current surge/spikes/shocks is to plug first the charger to AC outlet, then the usb c plug to the phone, then the usb plug to the charger. If possible, never plug/unplug the charger to/from the AC outlet if the phone is connected to the charger.
When the phone is full charged, first unplug the cable, not important which side first, then unplug the charger. If the phone is still charging, better unplug first the cable from the charger side to avoid micro spikes on the usb c port.
If you cannot obtain a normal behavior of the usb c port neither with reflashing the phone with the "qfil" system, perhaps a logic port of the usb c port is burned or simply in undetermined state, in the last case a total battery discharge may reset the logic port state and the phone can works fine once fully recharged. I'm sorry I can't help you better at this time! Cheers!

@orsonbear, thats my train of thought aswell, micro discharges occuring while plugging/unplugging causing the controller to freak out, or potentially damage the tiny connections (micro usb only had 4 wires vs 24! in usb-c). But I believe the problem lies somewhere on the software/firmware side, mainly because a reboot solves any issue I have. And also I just remembered, the first time it happened to me was a couple of days after I updated my firmware while updating to 19s, or 20s, cant recall precisely. Anywho, for me it's a minor nuissance, not like the OP who can only connect his phone once before rebooting (I can go for weeks before it occurs).

Same problem here
Days ago it start happen, exactly how you say, i never change the stock software and it start happen randomly, I have to reboot to recognize anything that I plug into the USB c port, I try factory reset and change from 26s to 23s and it keeps happening so maybe I'm pretty ****ed, someone help me, in my country no one will fix the port u.u (sorry for my English).
Hellao! I'm having a very similar issue, charging works fine and the pc detects the phone but OTG and the audio on my headset is not working. Did someone of you find a solution to this problem?
1. x720, x722 or x727?
2. Where did you buy the phones? (Store names)
3. What kind of USB-C cable were you using? The one that came in the box? Have you used other USB-C cables and adapters to see if it works?
This could be hardware failure due to a lack of QCing from LeEco (just your average hardware issue) or a USB-C cable issue. It's ver. 1.0 on all LeEco Pro 3 models (right)? So I can't say it's the cable for sure. Has anyone attempted to take the phone apart to replace the port? do they even sell the port replacement?
Similar problem for me. About a month ago my headset stop working and the phone did not recognize it at all, tried with the adaptor to 3,5 mm jack and did not work either. Charging worked though.
Found a replacement chip with usb c port and ordered. Yesterday i replaced the charging port, but still the headset do not work at all, and connection to PC does not work ether. Charging still works as usual.
I ordered the phone from grossoshop 7 month ago with their rom. Tried this evening to upgrade the rom from 5.8.018 to 5.9.020, still grossoshop but no difference... It should not be a hardware problem as i replaced the type c port.
Should i try to flash another rom to see if there's any difference?
Any other suggestions?
Thankful for any ideas

Have you tried switching cables? Could you have broken a contact or something while swapping the port out? Have you tried putting the old port back in to see if the computer recognizes the phone with it? Unfortunately you're gonna have to try everything, even if opening it back up again is tough. LeEco phones aren't exactly known for their build quality. Are you x720? Well, flash whatever ROMs you can, I guess. Might as well try everything.

Yes, I have tried to switch the cables so no problem with them. Have not done a swap back again as the problem seem to be similar as before, so maybe a change to a different rom will be the next step for me. If change of rom does not work, maybe then I'll try to swap port again.
And yes, It's a X720
Thanks for fast reply.

Maybe it's not plugged in or attached correctly so the phone doesn't detect it. Sounds like a hardware issue to me, in all honesty. I once took apart my iPhone 5 to replace the non-functional home button and it wouldn't work no matter what I tried. I had to remove the battery, reseat it, and then attach the home button again. It finally worked after a reboot.
just report in on this thread, I as well recently purchased an x727 experienced the similar issue. Basically as described above no matter what roms i test is always have some sort of camera errors when charging.
sometimes charging doesn't work or camera doesn't work I have to reboot to get it to work. extremely annoying. I think it is hardware related.
Anybody else have a solution?

This my advice to anybody considering buying this phone don't why you will get zero support from letv.
I got luckey I have zero problems with phone .
I recommend spending more money and getting a supported phone by the maker.
If you do buy one buy it from Amazon where get a warranty on it.
Sent from my LEX727 using xda premium
Somebody fixed thuis allready as my le2 x626 only detects charging by USB when in fact its connected to the AC adapter.
And extremly slow charging from 9 to 100 % more then รณ hours.
Also the phone`s microphone is nog working at all!! And the headphone is nog working!
