I have successfully installed Android Gingerbread 2.3.2 on my HTC HD2 device. While installing the DSTV app, I first tried to unroot it for sometime using the VoodooOTA Rootkeeper app. The problem is that the status of HD2 shows unrooted when using the VoodooOTA Rootkeeper but rooted when trying the DSTV app.
Is anyone having this kind of problem and how to go about it? Thanks
Anyone? Any help?

My kindle was running great till the update, but now its sort of messed up. I keep getting random application has stopped errors about the market. I just rooted again, but i can't even get my root explorer or ES file explorer to work at all. ES file explorer worked before but now it just says the root feature is not compatible with my phone or some crap. Any ideas?
There are other articles about this with fixes in them.
Well... i cant seem to get it to work. Any help?
When I updated my kindle to 6.2 I used the ota rootkeper to temporarily unroot the kindle then updated it to 6.2 once updated I used ota again to reroot then I rerooted the fire with a compete root with onceclick and reinstalled marketplace I now have no errors or problems.
update question - what all did the update impact?

Click to collapse
So OTA Rootkeeper wasn't sufficient to keep root through the update?
Did the marketplace get lost through the update?
What about other installed applications?
There is a whole thread on this when the original 6.2 update went out.

Do you have the ability to restore to stock? Try that, than if your brave enough, do it again.
Hello, i have a motorola defy and i am running cyanogenmod 7.2 based on android 2.3.7
I have had my phone rooted for a long time now and never experienced any troubles but a while ago I've updated the superuser app via play store and apps just lost root permissions, for instance, root explorer displayed the message like it was the first time i opened it and thet it closed itself, i rooted the phone again using the break the cage (or something like that) exploit and it started working again with superuser v 2. 3.6 i updated the app again via play store and the problem came back, when i type su in terminal i get "permission denied". I downgraded superuser again and have root permissions back, but i don't wanna be stuck in this version, anyone knows how to fix it?
EDIT: I got it fixed by going to androidsu.com and downloading the latest su update zip and then flashing it in recovery, i finally updated superuser from market and voila, everything is working like a charm, if someone experiences the same problem as me do not hesitate to contact me, I'll be happy to help
I am now using Motorola Defy. I would like to temporarily unroot my phone to some apps... Is there any solution to do this? Thanks!
