Just started to have issues downloading apps from the market. Im on any connection and im connected to the internet but they fail right away with this message "Download Unsuccessful" ..........rooted too. Any Ideas?
*Edit*
I need some others to check this out
Last night I reset to factory defaults and after 1-2 downloads from the market everything after I tried to download fails, rooted. Then I flashed the stock firmware downloaded a couple apps no problem, rooted, couple more downloaded then FAIL! Not able to download until I do a factory reset, even than I can only get 1- maybe 2 downloaded.
I'm having trouble as well. I'm rooted, I posted yesterday but nobody replied. Can somebody out hedre try and install fring?
Rooted. And no problems.
Are you signed into Talk for authentication?
I had similar problem on my EVO yesterday as well.. So i don't think it's a phone issue...

I did a reset back to stock pulled down a couple apps then dead after that...CAn anyone pull apps off the market right now?
I was having major problems with apps, then I did a cache wipe and factory reset. Problem solved.
I was also restoring apps from mybackup pro, which may have caused the issue. The apps were backuped from my evo and restored on the epic.
Its a apk I removed just don't know which one :/
I take that back...I lost market functionality again and have not removed any files only rooted AM i the only one experiencing this?
I rooted (using the older line by line instructions, not the single automatic script) and have not had any problems with the market.
i rooted with the one click script and have been downloading apps with no problem, downloaded an update to gps status tonight on 3g and barcode scanner over wifi tonight.
Im having the same issue, I rooted so i can do free wifi tethering (hotspot) and now i cant even download the ****ing app to do so.....
Hey all,
Everytime I root my 1.2 device with manual nooter 4.5.6 (haven't tried .18), I get one download out of the Android Market. After that the Market.apk disappears from the system/app directory and I can no longer download apps. The end result of this is that I'm pretty much hosed. I've tried putting SU File Manager on to sideload apps, but it can't installed BusyBox because of the market problem, so no luck with that. I've reproduced this issue at least half a dozen times, using CWR to delete all the user data, re-registering the stock install, and then rooting again.
At this point I'm staying stock until I feel confident I can download more than one app from the market on a rooted device.
So, has anyone else experience anything like this, and if so, is there a solution?
I have this same problem. No solution yet.
It may be related to a download directory bug which has been fixed. I updated to MN4.5.18 over 4.5.6. Everything worked well untill a recent update to 4.5.25. The market crashed again. This issue seems not solved yet. So I had to flash back 4.5.18.
Same here - .18 works very well once you figure out you have to uninstall the apps that want to update and then reinstall clean to remove the chance of bootloops. I was considering doing a complete wipe again and flashing .25, but I've decided to stick it out with .18 until they get squared away.
Overall, MN4.5.18 kicks ass for all intents and purposes, and I'd suggest moving up to that.

Can you elaborate on this?
Can ANYONE elaborate on this
I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now and can't figure it out. Certain apps don't recognize that my phone is rooted... Shootme, Titanium backup and wireless tether are the 3 specifically. They are all granted permissions but don't recognize root. It only seems to happen when I'm using an AOSP ROM, never had any trouble with Sense ROMs.
I've even unrooted my phone to take it to Sprint and still a no go after rooting again... Little frustrating.
Edit: disregard this post. After at least a week of uninstalling an re installing, it would start working almost immediately after posting a thread... Go figure. Not real sure what the issue was but it's working now.
If this happens again I'd try reinstalling superuser to see if that helps the problem too.
All the apps were still granted super user permissions... just didn't recognize the root. I did try installing super user anyway and that wasn't the issue.

I had the stock MK2 with cf auto root and just updated to stock NAE found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663619
and did (lates version of) cf auto root with odin and everything when smooth, working properly and kept all my data too. Until I tried doing app updates.
From the play store I updated some apps but they started to force close repeatedly so not sure of what to do I re flashed to stock NAE and did the app updates I wanted THEN did the cf auto root and back to normal.
Having the free titanium backup app I decided to buy the Pro version and the whole forced close app issue happened again.
Wondering if anyone else is having this issue and if there is a way to fix this so I don't have to keep going through the process of flashing to stock NAE to do app updates then root again.
PS: this website is great! :good: Been so helpful and it came time to be part of it.
BUMP
I am having a similar problem as well. All my apps worked until the started to update through play store. So far I am having issue with FB, IG, Slice, and Glide. They either wont open at all or they constantly force close. Have you found a solution yet?

ok so after a weekend of trial and error I narrowed it down to the hotspot mod causing the problem. I had reflashed and factory reset and then root and MANUAL hotspot mod with sManager explorer that would force close once before letting me rename the service files but worked after second attempts but would force close any updated apps after the mod. To fix it I deleted the service files for hotspot mod and replaced them with the original ones I had renamed.
The trick to getting it to work is installing philz recovery and flashing the hotspot zip from there. now I have hotspot and no issues with force closed apps.
hope this helps others that stumble on this issue

If you have the hotspot mod and did it manually by renaming the files and placing the new ones try flashing it instead of a manual overide, hope it helps good luck.:good:

Having similar problems how do I fix
I rooted my phone using towel root, everything seemed fine until it started randomly crashing. Now the crashing happens like this, the screen will freeze (with like weird tearing) then either restart or stay frozen. The only root app I use is wifi tether router. I did notice supersu will fail to update the binaries. Not sure if that could be a cause.
My question is how do I unroot it. So I can at least attempt any kind of fix. I'm still under warranty.
Can anyone help me at all? Please

A thorough way to unroot and reset everything is to Odin back to stock and then do a factory reset. The stock tar can be found here.

I was able to get supersu to work again, could I do an unroot through that even if I used towelroot?

There is an unroot option in SuperSU (although I've never done it so I don't know if it actually unroots or just cleans up things to allow a clean unroot. The other thing I'm not sure it does is restore Knox which is something that will be checked for by the manufacturer). If you're taking your phone back or sending it in under warranty you probably should make sure you uninstall anything you need root for prior to unrooting, but if you're on a custom rom or want to make sure everything is back to factory (including Knox) I would recommend doing what I suggested in my last post.
Same Problem
Same problem as OP. I had a Note 3 originally that I took the update to 4.4.2 and used Towelroot and everything was fine. I recently broke the bejesus out of my Note 3 and got a replacement under the warranty. I used Towelroot on the new Note 3 and I am getting random freezing and a weird line that appears across the screen once it freezes. Sometimes it will reboot others I need to pull the battery.
What is happening? I am now back to stock and want to root again. Anyone have a solution to this?
