Just click login options or leave the password blank & press enter

File Sharing over Wifi

Hey guys can anyone tell me how i can access my desktop files without having to set a password to my username ( i want my pc {win 7 rc} to boot up all the way without any password promt). I dont want to remove my sd card for every little file i want to copy onto my device.
So is there someway we can do this (thru total commander or any similar software)
Yes total commander can access shared files through a network.

u can set up a password for your home computer, but then ask the computer to do an automatic login, so you dont have to type it everytime you login... you can find this somewhere in the settings, i cant remember where i have to look it up if you are interested..

I set up a shared folder on my xp pc - when i access it via resco file explorer map drive, i leave the username and password blank, and uncheck permanent connection in the subsequent page.
It works. I can toss files back and forth.

i did read your first post
automatic login is nothing to do with passwords
just set a password, and then set windows 7 to automatically log in to your account dude
in the run dialog box type in 'control userpasswords2'
it should take you to the user accounts window
there should be a checkbox that says 'users must enter a username and password to use this computer'. uncheck that box so that it is NOT ticked.
then it should ask for your password
type it in so that it saves it and next time it should log in automatically with your password
let me know if that dont work
peace

You need to set a windows password then use 'control userpasswords2' to make the PC not ask for it when you start the PC up.

Can't get past password

Hello, I'm XDA News Writer mustangtim49 and I made the horrible mistake of installing windows8 on my little emachines mini lappie. I lost my normal home wifi and now I can't access my computer, every time I input my password, my computer says "your computer is offline, try the last password entered on this computer" I'm ready to throw it away, but do to a bad break up, this is all I have and it's really affecting my ability to do my job here at XDA. Thank you for reading this and any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You can reset the admin password using various available tools. I haven't tried it with Win8, but below are instructions for Win7. It shouldn't be different. Worse comes to worst, just reformat it and re-install, since it's a new install anyway.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/reset-password-windows-7.htm
For more resources (beware of spam): http://google.com/search?q="windows+7"+password+reset
There were also some reports from the CP version of password length needing to be between 8-16 chars, else an "incorrect password" error occurs.
http://www.technize.net/windows-8-maximum-password-length-limitations/
It's not a new install, I've been running it since it became available. Also, I read the links you provided, thank you, they require a disc to be burned, my mini has no disc drive.

Let me get this straight... is it your windows password or your home wifi password you can't get to work. You said you lost your home wifi. That has nothing to do with your windows password except it trys to check the microsoft account 1st then it uses the local. If there is something wrong with the local, take it somewhere that has free internet like dunkin donuts does in states and try logging in. Then switch to a local account.
I am tethering my phone as wifi and I still can't get past the password. It's the stupid w8 password screen when you first start the computer. Is says offline after I put in my password and will not let me in.
[email protected]
Being offline has nothing to do with the Win8 local password to login. I've been working with Win8 R&D for the past year and have yet to see an error like that.
Is it the WiFi password that is not being accepted?
Colphonix. I agree. Seems like the WiFi password.
Sent from my PI39100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Also, if you switched to a Microsoft account to login, the password for that account is the one you need to login, not the one you created for the local account.
I hope that helps

Did you use a microsoft account or where you/her illogical in using a local account?
If you did the sensible thing and used the microsoft account you can reset your password from another PC as long as the tablet does have a wifi connection. When you login on windows 8 if you have an internet connection it will actually connect to the internet to see if your microsoft account password has changed, enables you to use the same password across multiple machines and changing password on 1 machine updates all, also helps if you forget your password
https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx
Otherwise. If its a local account. Its your own blooming fault if you forget your own password.

That's what I mean aswell. The password you log into the computer with. When you get a windows 8 device it asks very clearly if you want to use/create a microsoft account to log in with, or if you want to make an account on that device only. And it heavily biases towards using the microsoft account (there is next to 0 reason to use local for a consumer).
If you or your sister ignored the big full screen page asking which to use, well sorry, your either gonna just have to try the password reset I linked to and hope you did select to use a microsoft account or accept that forgetting the password is a bad idea (infact I cant even work out for the life of me how one even does that). If it is the latter option, its fixable. I dont know how though. I guess booting into recovery and resetting the entire device that way would work, would restore the tablet to the state it came from the factory in so you will have to set it up and install all your software from scratch, in which case USE A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT SO THIS CANT HAPPEN AGAIN. You cant even use the app store properly with a local account, I think it lets you buy stuff but if you lose that account you lose your purchases. Whereas I have both my desktop and laptop configured with microsoft accounts, went on laptop (newer of the 2), went on store, it has all my apps listed already. The app I bought on my laptop is now installed on the desktop too without having to buy it again.
EDIT:
If you set a BIOS password as GoodDayToDie suggested, yeah, you better hope you remember that password because its not resettable and its not covered by manufacturers warranty, home or gadget insurance probably wont even be coerced into paying out for that.
He might have set a BIOS password... in that case, you're SOL.
Also, fix your damn thread subject.

Microsoft exchange issue

I just got the g2 on Verizon and I work for Version. I'm always setting up emails and know just about every trick and setting. With that being said I can not get my exchange to work on this phone. Lg was not help and from the searches I've down on the good old interweb thingy and on xda,it looks this has been a know issue with lg phones in the past. Any new info we be mucho appreciates!
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
I have set my G2 up with two different exchange accounts, both work like a charm. Can you give more details about what it is or isn't doing for you?
i have exchange set up and it is working perfectly, you might have the server info entered incorrectly.
It's telling address or password is wrong or can't connect with server. I've tried changing domain server settings.haven't had a problem. On HTC or Samsung's. On the galaxy it puts domain and username together and asks for exchange Server while on lg it seperates. User and domain and asks for server address..the problem is something I'm entering in one of those spots
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
Did you manage to find a solution to this problem. I have just got a brand new LG G2 and have the exact same problem when trying to configure an exchange acccount. When debugging the issue on our mailserver it seems that the G2 is somehow mixing domain, mailaddress and username in a way that our mailserver does not recognize.
I either get "cannot connect to server" or "wrong address or password".
LG plain out refused to assist staing that they do not support customers with exchange problems....
Any help will be highly appreiated
Maybe this can help http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/...n-an-android-phone-or-tablet-HA102823196.aspx

Thanks for the info, but sadly this doesn't get me any further.
I have tried to leave domain empty, set domain to mydomain.com, set domain to mydomain.com\, user name to myusername, user name to myemailaddress and all combinations of above, and i still get "cannot connect to server" or "wrong address or password".
My mailserver is Mdaemon supporting Activesync 12.1 and 14. All server settings verified on a Samsung S3, an Asus TF101 and Iphone4 with IOS6.
Any ideas?
I am having the same issue and have tried the suggestion in Microsoft's website. Has anyone figured this out?
Thanks
Exchange is just a pain. I'm getting that same message, but it's syncing. This has been happening with all my phones except my HTC for the last 6 months. It works, then it doesn't. It says password is wrong, but it syncs. They just need to make a unified setup for it. This is what I enter for my domains on all 3 phones. Keep in mind, they all connect to the same server and domain.
HTC EVO: (nothing, it doesn't ask for a domain)
Droid RAZR: \*********@*****.com
LG G2: \NA
Even when I set up Samsungs, they're a different domain as well.

I'm coming from a Samsung which works perfect. I went from a note 2 to a note 3 with no issues. From the note 3 to the G2 now this. I'm waiting for my IT guy to call me back. Hopefully he will have a fix. Thanks for the reply.

For me, the problems started when we switched to the m.outlook.com server about 8 months ago. Prior to that I had no issues with my MDA, Wing, Droid, Droid 2, RAZR, or EVO. So I wonder, in my case, if it is the G2 or the server.

I spoke with my IT guy and he is going to send me some screen shots for settings. Unfortunately most everyone in the company uses iPhones so I might be SOL. I like this phone (especially the size) but I have to get this figured out. The note 3 is a great phone but just too big for me with a case on it. I'll keep you informed.
That would be great. Maybe I could figure out my issue. I work in tge field so I don't have regular access to IT.

Got It working! ! !
Try this.
Under Domain name put, yourcompany.net
Under username, first name last initial. Like, marks for mark Smith.
I used webmail03.yourcomany.com. but it reverted to webmail02 on its own.
Yeah, so the issue is happening with my yahoo email now. It appears that in my case, the issue is with the phone or mail app. The funny thing though, is I can update manually with no problems. The phone is getting denied when it tries to pull the mail.

It's weird, they alternate not working. Earlier exchange was working but yahoo wasn't. Now yahoo is working, but exchange isn't. They both work when I manually refresh. When I get a chance, I'll uninstall. And reinstall.
have the same problem... anyone with the custom ROM has any issue with this.. on original ROM it does not want to connect.
If nothing helps, I have to install CUSTOM ROM... god dam, I thought that on LGG2 I will not have to do that.
I have had not had any issue with my MS Exchange account. Try leaving domain blank.and only using a server address. Also, sometimes I have seen usernames be 3 different formats that work on different set-ups. Try just the user name or the full e-mail as options as well.

HMA does not work

as title says I cannot make VPN work. I tried its app and manual setup. I have subscription to it. I have unrooted stock rom. Can anyone help me?
It was working on my cyanogen modded note 1.
Not had any problems setting up a VPN. I take it you have setup your lock screen.
If they have the Open VPN files try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.blinkt.openvpn
You don't need a lock screen password setup with that.

Maybe your device needs to be registered with HMA to be able to log in, or you already have another device logged in.
Personally I use Hide.Me, they allow multiple devices to be logged in using different credentials. And unlike HMA, they do not keep any records of your activity.
