My wife's Elf keeps losing the phone network connection, each time she was in an area without reception, like elevators etc. and than refuses to register back to the network. Only way to get it to register again is to do a soft reset. (turning off and on the phone radio sometimes works, automatic and manual network selection don't). Tried another SIM card, same thing happened. The problem developed when she started to use GPRS/EDGE (previosly used her phone for calls and SMS).
Any ideas?
Have you tried flashing to a new radio in the elf upgrading forums?

Changed radio still no go. Interesting enough it works when she doesn't use GPRS. I changed the RIL registry settings, and will be testing it next few days.

Radio is usually affecting the issue.
You can hard reset, if it doesnt work!

Seems like I tried everything possible and still nothing, it is probably hardware failure. My wife is going nokia after this, she said no more winmo.
I did master reset and then reinstall touch flo, in between phone got stuck. Tried restart, stuck at initial windows mobile screen. Hard reset combinations tried so far have not worked.
What to do?, any help much appreciated.

Phone is OFF - Missing IMEI
I could not in any forum, needer dealextreame, solve my problem and more 3 users found with same problem.
After a few days with my phone working perfect conditions, he stopped making calls. The phone was in offline mode. When trying to connect, a popup appears asking "want to turn on the phone?" I say YES, he stops for a few seconds and back to OFF.
Looking for what happened in the configurations, I see where it should have the IMEI number, it disappeared!
Button then * # 2006 # to see my IMEI, then it does again the question: "Do you want to connect the phone?".
I put my chip in another mobile operator and is okay! put another chip from another operator on the phone, and same problem!
Removing the battery, it has the IMEI printed on the phone all right with 15 digits. I called my operator and asked if the IMEI is invalid or something, and it said no, that's okay.
Then did an update of the rom, using Windows 6.1 posted in pandawill
he did the update correctly, without errors, the PDA is working all functions: gps, internet, wireless, but when trying to use the phone, always the same question if I want to ON.
Sorry for the long post, but not yet get solution on various topics, what problem is occurring, and when I say I need to enter the IMEI, I respond that prohibited, but the IMEI is MY and my desire is make the system to recognize!
Can anyone help? grateful.

Yes, is a crap. The phone is off, when you put in communications, I can turn ON or OFF everything, internet, gps, bluetooth, airplane, but NOT the phone. I can connect the GPS satellites, I can surf the web, I access my acess point, but I cant make a call!
I get this program "WST v4.2.2 setup.exe" Wizard Service Tool. A great program, an RAPI enabled and a IMEI repair and others settings, I can write my IMEI in phone, but the IMEI dont fix! The program say sucess, reboot my phone, but whens start, IMEI is blank!
T3238+ no touch & locked! (Solved)

My Touch 3G T3238+ cloam is locked & touch is not working @ all!
The "unlock" option is on the bottom L. but, there is no touch 2 tap it!! & I can't hard reset w/ any key combination.
Keys work 4 a new opened window e.g. I can answer a call w/ the keys but, they r inactive on homepage.
Also the power button does not turn the phone off!! can only remove battery!
When I want 2 install a new ROM from SD, there is no touch to choose an option!!

Mostly I though that the touch problem was due 2 software stuff, not that it was damaged itself.
While the phone was off, I connected it 2 the PC (vista, WMDC) --> Vol. down + green button + power => suddenly it showed a menu w/ sum options like "edit boot", "edit OS" & ... sumthing like the 3-color screen.
If it's not connected 2 the PC, this menu will NOT appear!!
Well,,,,, mayb this could solve the same problem 4 sum1 else.

when i use the code that shutsthe phone off by longpressing the button whenever i get a text it bypasses the lockscreen and even the pattern lock completely

Hi everyone
I bought an used ZTE 2 years ago. It was already rooted, I just reset to factory settings and updated to CyanogenMod 7.2.
It worked fine (except for a few problems sometimes) for almost 2 years, but since last 2 weeks it started to lose the network connection (no SMSs, phone calls or data connection. The wifi works fine), and since few days it hasn't connected to the network at all.
I tried to do a factory reset, but it didn't change a thing about the problem.
If in the option I set to show the number of decibels instead of the bar for the signal strength I can read -infinity, from settings -> telephone informations -> status -> signal intensity (in english it can be different since I'm translating from my home language) it says 0 dBm 0 asu.
If you need more information do not hesitate to ask.
What can the problem be? Is it an hardware problem, even if the phone didn't receive any hit or fall recently?
What other things could i do to?

i unlock my device with octoplus box, i configure the apn for my carrier and got a calls,sms and data
my only problem is that i cant get any upload from mobile data, tried speed test and get 0 on the upload speed.
is there anything i cant do about it ?
i use it on GSM network (3G or 4G)

I bet we're experiencing the same issue. (Not looking to steal the thread, just notifying you that you are not alone! And explaining the methods I have attempted, without success.)
TL;DR: Upload very very low, services which rely on upload (e.g. bank, eID, some web pages) do not load on mobile data, but do work properly when tethered (but only on the device tethered to the phone). Everything works as it should on WiFi.
Sincere gratitude for any assistance in this issue!

Device is LG V20 LS997, Software Version: LS997ZV7_04, Android 7.0 (Data worked fine on ZV5, updated due to stupidity.)

For me upload over mobile data works IFF I tether the device to a computer, either via USB or WiFi-Hotspot, but never for apps on-board the device itself. Tethering Mode in HiddenMenuCall is set to Android.
HOW and WHY does it work properly when tethered? Does tethering work properly for you, OP?
The upload speed, tested with Speedtest.net by Ookla results in a measurement of 0.0-<0.5 kBps, download fairly stable around 35 Mbit, ping at ~20 ms to Copenhagen, 4G.
WiFi works perfectly (Up 111 Mbit, Down 220 Mbit, Ping 4 ms).
Tethered to a Win10-laptop: Up ~11 Mbit, Down ~35 Mbit, Ping ~16 ms. Results from the laptop, not the phone.
Attempts made/Google-fueled semi-random fumbling around done, with no change in outcome:
* New SIM issued by carrier
* Toggling of fast dormancy on or off with HiddenMenuCall
* Attempted to switch to Edge or HSPA with HiddenMenuCall
* GCF Flag set Enable with HiddenMenuCall
* Manually messing with APN settings
* TunnelBear VPN
* "Engineering mode" in HiddenMenuCall contains no information in any category. (E.g. It says "AMR CH: ", with nothing following "CH:")
* Tried RRP 5, 6, 99
* Setting "Network mode" to anything else besides "Automatic" yields a response of FAIL, whereas Automatic yields SUCCESS.

I purchased my lg v20 from a guy that told me everything was working fine, I did some basic checking and the phone seemed fine but when I got home and inserted my SIM card it didn't have any upload speed, I also have done everything, even attempted to unlock the bootloader, and without any success, did you figured out a way to fix it?

Hi!
I hav the same issue with my V20 - same Model number. No upload mobile data. However, I can use WhatsApp for text but if I want to upload a picture on cellular data - nothing, instagram works not at all, email and web browsing works without issues.
So - some sockets and network connections are blocked in this phone - great.
Seems there is nothing we can do....

As mentioned above - same here. I wonder if we will see an Oreo update and if that could potentially solve this.... Not willing to write off the V20 completely yet.

Was recently informed that there might be a root solution out there for LS997 ZV7, have not tried it but it is where I will be looking in the near future.

Goto
Field test - NAO test - NAOT - NAO Setting - Nao Carrier
And choose Sprint, if no data upload. Choose None
your problem will fix 100% upload back again with no problem

DUDE - YOU ARE BRILLIANT! The links helped!!
It now works with my phone and here is how:
Dial in phone app: 5689#*997#
In the menu select: Field Test
then "NAO-Test"
then "NAO"
then "NAO Setting"
if not enabled click first menu item to enable NAO Test toggle!
then NAO Carrier
choose SPR (for sprint) mine was on "NONE"
phone will restart and BAM! Data works via cellular now for EVERYTHING.
Wooohoooo - can't believe it. So cool.

I have the same problem and tried everything, including this "simple" method from quote. Im living and working in Croatia, and my phone is also Sprint version "unlocked" but I use Croatian T-mobile.
Please, anybody, do you have some solution for this problem? Thanks in advance
