Hello Wildfirers
I recently saw this petition posted on the Android forums, not sure if they Re asking for all drivers or only GPU drivers. As the Wildfire is an armV6 device and we may get the camera and hardware acceleration working in Erwin's CM9 build along with many other things!

We don't, we rely on software acceleration to do it.

I hope they release all drivers not just the GPU. Then Erwin's ICS ROM might have a working camera
Sent from my Wildfire using xda premium
Have they even made drivers for armv6?
I mean to begin with ics was only compiled for armv7, its only through dedicated developers like the cm team that we now have it on armv6 devices. I haven't looked into it much so I may be very wrong but on that basis I'm not getting my hopes up and believe we will have to wait for cm to fix our problems.
Still signed it though just in case.

Me? In the other it says nothing about ICS Drivers or armV6 for that matter in the title. I didn't read the post because I was on G network on my phone so it would take ages. So I posted before someone else did.

but it is a cdma phone this is the biggest problem because we need GSM module to work, to do this we need GSM drivers compiled for kernel from droidX fw.
So if I flash a fw of droid x in my i9003,then then network would not work but will the rest of the features work?

Do you think there will be cm7 support for i9003 in near future?..
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
May be in the near future as we get CWM recovery
CM7 is a distant dream, as none of the Devs have adopted this phone. To port CM7 we need a good devs support. Its a hard fact.
but phones like galaxy 5,optimus gt540 and galaxy 3 which are not so popular have cm7 support.... its not fair for us (i9003) owners..

What about the other phones which have cm7 support....did all of them took this much time to get it.....

The dev's most likely have one, or had one, and could thus support it. Buy them one to support, or stop complaining.
No idea why i'm still reading this forum, the complaining is getting old. :/

Both of you are right, if we need some support we need to donate the phone to devs.

No There are 3 ways:
1. Become developer
2. Donate the phone to developer
3. Wait for Samsung
Sent from my GT-I9003
If we are taking about CM7, samsung cannot help and becoming dev over night is not easy, to port custom firmware. St the max we can port a theme out an application.

I unwillingly had to give up my nexus s 4g for my current g2. Thought it would be crap compared to the ns4g. So far my performance at 1.5ghz has been better and I'm actually pretty content. Now to the good stuff..
What's up with ice cream sammich on this thing? I literally feel like I started reading a book halfway through and don't know where to go. Someone fill me in please as I got used to ics and miss it terribly lol

Did your phone come stock with Gingerbread? If so go Here to get back to Froyo, then Here I'm assuming the Gingerbread thread would have you put on CWM of course.
If your phone did not come with the Gingerbread update go Here then back to the 2nd link above.
Thanks dude! Yea I'm fully rooted running cm7 nightly but I'm flashing this right naoh!!

There's no official ICS for the G2/DZ, so right now there are some pre-alpha/alpha quality builds available in the dev forum. We may well never get an official ICS, but our sister phones, the Desire HD and Desire S will be, and there is enough commonality in chipsets to be pretty sure we'll get decent drivers out of those (to vastly improve the current early builds).

First thing, welcome to G2. This is one of the best communities I've seen and the development is plenty!
Second, 1.8!? Hasn't that burned a hole in your pocket? I've been running Andro Alpha 12 at 1.024 and running great.

Hi all.
I have started a petition for Nvidia to provide us the ICS drivers for venatana board so that if our manufacturers are unable to provide us ICS, our devs can make a ICS build with full H/W acceleration by using those drivers and if we will get those drivers we will surely get latest Jelly Build also (actually i trust in our devs more than our manufacturers).
This petition is not for only Galaxy R but for each and every device based on ventana board and their users suffers lacks of H/W acceleration with ICS (like Lg Optimus 2x, moto atrix).
kindly sign this petition and show your support also spread this to your friends so that they can also support in our petition against nvidia and so that we can show to nvidia that how we care about our devices and we want drivers from you.
if u guys think that anything should be added or edited in petition leave a reply here or PM me i will do it.
rate this thread and also provide it as a news tip so that we can spread this thread on whole xda by xda-portal
Thanks.

Not again...
While those devices are Tegra 2 devices, the Atrix uses a different chipset than those. Therefore, those drivers are near useless. Now if you took 5 minutes to read the other threads...

Signed as well. I hope this helps, although I will admit: the prospects seem rather dubious... darn nvidia! Also, pretty sure that the drivers are in no way impacted by the fact that the KERNEL is licensed under GPL...
Hopeful nonetheless
How to get better graphic performance on blade?
Sent from my Dell XCD 35 using xda app-developers app
1. Use Swedish Snow as your rom, it has the best performance on 2D/3D gaming
2. If you use CM7.x, flash this package: http://blade.windows98.co.uk/downloads/new-egl-libs.zip . It's a new custom Adreno200 lib that gives about 15% more benchmark results (idk if it's working even with Swedish Snow, if you wanna try to flash it just make a nandroid backup before, so if something goes wrong you can always rollback).
3. If you use ICS, downgrade either to SS or CM7.2.
Anyway don't expect too many improvements, MSM7227 and Adreno200 are very old, most of the newer game still won't work (since they require ARMv7 chipset or a better gpu like Mali400/Tegra2) or will be slow (like Tomb Raider Guardian of Light)

They aren't. New EGL Libs for GB are not the one released by QCOM for ICS. GB libs are not compatible with ICS.

Somehow. IIRC there's an option to downgrade texture quality in chainfire, maybe you'll gain some FPS (1-2?), still don't expect too much from the Blade.
I know it's out of my league, but i cant hold it back because hw decoding/encoding solution are possible now for MSM7x27 SoCs
Head to Modified libstagefright to use legacy Qualcomm OMX IL libs on ICS for MSM7x27 SoCs
vote for it to be featured on the portal. that will get the attention of more devs.
i know right?
nothing is impossible
So...
Screw qualcomm
anyone now can tell me how to install on my jb rom this drivers?
this should be moved to dev section I think
but didnt qualcomm COMPLETELY abandon this.....
D: its a great notice, but this drivers can be added to any cm9 or cm10 rom? (for example: MiniCM9 (nAa) )

n00b question here: How the hell do I flash this on MiniCM9? D:
You can't flash it as it's a source code. I already tried it with isdx and camcorder works. I had some issues with playing movies though. Be patient.
Sent from my X8 using xda premium
Kinda tempted to try this on ICZaraki
So it means, that our developers started to work on this. Be patient, and don't ask stupid things like:
'How to install'
'When will it come to our device'
THERE IS NO WAY NOW and AFTER OUR DEVELOPERS MADE IT
And thank it to the developers! With the button!
And for developers. It might help.
