Brick - magic value mismatch.... help (no boot, no recovery) - Acer Iconia A500

Hello,
I have a serious problem with my tablet.
I can not run the OS and the tablet will not start even in recovery mode (pwr + vol up), when I try to reboot I always get the error:
bootloader Version 0.03.11-ICS(custom mode)
magic value mismatch....
The problem occurred after installing the ICS thor room V134 in conjunction with the replacement of Recovery (from CWM thor of 1.7 are passed to the RA Recvery)
Please anyone knows how to solve this problem. I tried reinstalling the CWM of Thor with this procedure:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522384
But the error on reboot (normal or recovery) is always the same.
please help me.

Ask Thor, he might be able to help you as it was with his applications it happened...

dunno whether this will work on your your device but i found the topic on another device section

[Q] Pure root script, problems & questions

Hi all gurus,
please forgive the noobiness but the task is quite urgent and actually, since I'm a new, noob user, I can't post in the dev section.
Well... my need was to install a fixed wpa_supplicant on a stock WW ROM in order to manage ad hoc wifi connections. In order to do so, I tried the Pure Root script (APK mode correctly up & running)
Did as follows:
- I did a complete backup of both boot.img and recovery.img from my stock Transformer using the "Backup current Boot.img and/or Recovery.img" option ; everything went fine... but under the directory /images/backup I can't see any file
- i tried to install a root WW using the first option of the script; I choose to install recovery too (CWM?). Everything fine; I rebooted the tablet but Root Explorer tells me I'm not root ... Am I missing something?
(tried then to install the modified wpa_supplicant via CWM... but again, installation done with success, reboot -> no ad-hoc connection management )
I decided then to revert back to the original Asus stock version (option 4: " Install Stock ww Boot.img and/or Recovery.img").
Everything goes fine and actually I thing now I'm running with the stock worldwide version... But there's a thing I don't understand: I tried to boot in recovery mode to verify that CWM is not present anymore: so pressing ON + volume down, this is what I see:
"Android ww_epad-user bootloader ( e) released by "WW_epad-8.4.4.11-20110711"
Checking for android ota recovery
Checking for RCK... Press key <VOL_UP> in 5 sec to enter RCK "
If I don't press VOL_UP I get the wiping data option: " press <VOL_UP> to execute or <VOL_DOWN> to cancel wiping data". It is not the one of CWM.
BUT if I press VOL_UP ... an Android robot with an exclamative marks appear.
So... what am I missing? What's the actual status of the device? My guess is that stock rom is ok but recovery don't. How can I restore completely the situation to the stock one (or also, previous backups)?
Thanks in advance mates, unfortunately I have to add support for ad-hoc connection in 24 hours (to bring my tablet with me on holiday, otherwise I have no way to connect to the net and the device is quite useless ).
Understanding how to flash to stock version both boot and recovery is quite a nice way to start modding from scratch, having the knowledge that no matter what a mess I can do, there's always a way to repair to original, asus stock version

[PROBLEM] Regarding CWM recovery for MB526.

I really wanna install ICS 4.0.4 on my Defy+.
So I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432100
My Defy is rooted.
I installed CWM's ROM Manager.
I installed 2ndInit.
Now I know (correct me if I'm wrong) that we should place the zip files onto the SD card. --> Then, open CWM's ROM Manager --> Flash recovery --> [checks something on d internet and displays a bunch of devices. Defy is one of them] So I click on "Defy" ---> It tells me that CWM's recovery is not yet supported by Defy. ---> If i continue, it says "Have you previously installed custom recovery?" and then asks for the version. ---> still if I continue and start phone in recovery mode, It doesn't go in recovery mode. I just see a yellow exclamation mark in a white triangle with the android bot standing beside it.
What seems to be the problem ?
What should I do to install the ICS 4.0.4 on my device ?
Please help. Because I'm still a n00b.
I tried ignoring CWM's recovery and rebooted my device with 2ndInit's Custom Recovery mode and tried the steps in the (above) mentioned thread.
This results in a BootLoader 9.10 error: 1F, A3, etc. on reboot. So I had to flash the (rooted)stock sbf again.
I did it for 4-5 times. I feel like crying now.
Please help.
Update on the request
should i flash cm7.2 first and then upgrade to cm9 (ICS 4.0.4) ?
Please help guys.. please..

If you see that robot, press both the volume up and down keys at the same time, then you should be in the recovery menu.

Maybe you could try another version of bootmenu? If I remember correctly, you can choose, which one you want if you go into the 2ndInit app.

To get back to stock you'll need to run an official a501 EUU - theres a thread in the dev forum by blackthund3r with a list of official Acer Roms -
you need an "EUU" AND I hope you have saved your cpuid from using afterOTA - you can't do anything now without it

- if moscow desire is around he may be able to point you to a more recent version, but I havent seen him about lately he may be taking a well deserved holiday

Any other options?

Well, that is good news, you're halfway there
This tutorial will give you some background on rooting and installing CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35500631#post35500631
But now you have the v8 and access to fastboot the first thing you should do is to hook your usb cable to your pc and run a command prompt from the fastboot folder (if you need help with doing that have a look in the cpuid guide linked in my sig). You want to wipe /data and /cache and then immediately flash an ICS custom rom...civato has a thread with official acer stock roms that will run on the v8 or you can choose a full custom one.
You should already have a custom recovery on your tab, if not, use fastboot to flash one after you did your wipes...then boot to it and flash your rom not an update.zip
i have hook the usb cable but i cant write somthing on the cmd
its noet working, i want to install CWM this was verry easy to use.
I dont now why its verry difficult to root and install a custom firmware on a Acer Iconia A500.
I have olso a Samsung galaxy tab, this was veryy easy to use after 3 minutes it was rooted and installed the CWM.

@ cebbes
Go to cpuid guide in my sig
You'll need the drivers installed correctly, there's a section showing how to do that....you'll need to flash the v8 bootloader to get cwm...its all in the guide

First to thanks to dibb_nz, civato, Moscow Desire & Heisenberg.
I have installed Skrilax CZ bootloader V8 on my TAB ( after six month trying )
Then Installed: CWM recovery v5.5 thor2002ro rev.1.7.3
showing: kernel 3.1.10-digetx-thor-4.4micro
Bootloader: 0.03.14-MUL
Active boot partition 1st boot partition set as default.
Not running HC bootloader, itsmagic not needed.
As per your instruction on (Skrilax CZ bootloader V8) wipes all the /data and /cache using fastboot method then reboot and after going to CWM recovery flashed Civato official acer Rom Acer_AV041_A500_1.041.00_WW_CUS1 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633907.
But again my Tab is stuck on Skrilax CZ bootloader V8 bootmenu.
now help me what to do.

[Q] No Recovery Mode [Solved]

Hello Everyone,
I'm facing some challenging issue for few hours now and now I'm asking for your kind assistance.
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE (HLTE \ SM-N9005 \ N9005XXUGB0D3).
The device warranty was over this week so I've decided to try Cyanogenmod on it after the device received OTA update to Android 5.0 which I didn't like much due to its much different menus and user experience (Using Cyanogenmod on my tablet and I'm pleased with it).
So,
First step was to install ClockWork recovery but I'm failing each time.
There is a bug with Heimdall and this specific phone model which cause communication problems so it's not working.
Then I've tried ODIN instead but.
I get the "successfully Installed" message but when I go into recovery it is still the default one and not the ClockWork version.
Then I tried Root+Rom Manager via the phone itself.
Rom Manager tells me it installed the correct version of ClockWork *according to the wiki 6.0.4.8) but when I choose to go into recovery mode to verify it either by menually using the VOL\Home\Power combo or the button from inside the Rom Manager app it is still booting to the default recovery mode and not clockwork.
Now after breaking something (probably using different versions of odin or something) I can't get into recovery mode at all. I can see the blue text message of "going into recovery mode" for 1-2 seconds then I get into download mode screen instead.
And chance you can help me with my problem so I'll be able to install ClockWork recovery on this device?
Thanks!
EDIT:
Using root + app called [ROOT] Rashr - Flash Tool I've easily managed to install clockwork and then the Cynoagenmod\Gapps pack.

FACTS:

and cooperation o/
Try to write recovery after writing rom
I encountered such a fact when writing a custom rom on my phone.
At that time, I could solve the problem by writing a custom recovery after writing the custom rom.
The custom recovery wrote as follows.
1. Press the Volume Down, Home, and Power buttons to wake up the phone in download mode.
2. Start Odin, specify a custom recovery file in "AP", and press the Start button.
The custom recovery used "sc03e-KBC-CWM-v6.0.5.1_r4-recovery.tar".
have no idea about this
