Hello Everyone,
I'm facing some challenging issue for few hours now and now I'm asking for your kind assistance.
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE (HLTE \ SM-N9005 \ N9005XXUGB0D3).
The device warranty was over this week so I've decided to try Cyanogenmod on it after the device received OTA update to Android 5.0 which I didn't like much due to its much different menus and user experience (Using Cyanogenmod on my tablet and I'm pleased with it).
So,
First step was to install ClockWork recovery but I'm failing each time.
There is a bug with Heimdall and this specific phone model which cause communication problems so it's not working.
Then I've tried ODIN instead but.
I get the "successfully Installed" message but when I go into recovery it is still the default one and not the ClockWork version.
Then I tried Root+Rom Manager via the phone itself.
Rom Manager tells me it installed the correct version of ClockWork *according to the wiki 6.0.4.8) but when I choose to go into recovery mode to verify it either by menually using the VOL\Home\Power combo or the button from inside the Rom Manager app it is still booting to the default recovery mode and not clockwork.
Now after breaking something (probably using different versions of odin or something) I can't get into recovery mode at all. I can see the blue text message of "going into recovery mode" for 1-2 seconds then I get into download mode screen instead.
And chance you can help me with my problem so I'll be able to install ClockWork recovery on this device?
Thanks!
EDIT:
Using root + app called [ROOT] Rashr - Flash Tool I've easily managed to install clockwork and then the Cynoagenmod\Gapps pack.

Hi all gurus,
please forgive the noobiness but the task is quite urgent and actually, since I'm a new, noob user, I can't post in the dev section.
Well... my need was to install a fixed wpa_supplicant on a stock WW ROM in order to manage ad hoc wifi connections. In order to do so, I tried the Pure Root script (APK mode correctly up & running)
Did as follows:
- I did a complete backup of both boot.img and recovery.img from my stock Transformer using the "Backup current Boot.img and/or Recovery.img" option ; everything went fine... but under the directory /images/backup I can't see any file
- i tried to install a root WW using the first option of the script; I choose to install recovery too (CWM?). Everything fine; I rebooted the tablet but Root Explorer tells me I'm not root ... Am I missing something?
(tried then to install the modified wpa_supplicant via CWM... but again, installation done with success, reboot -> no ad-hoc connection management )
I decided then to revert back to the original Asus stock version (option 4: " Install Stock ww Boot.img and/or Recovery.img").
Everything goes fine and actually I thing now I'm running with the stock worldwide version... But there's a thing I don't understand: I tried to boot in recovery mode to verify that CWM is not present anymore: so pressing ON + volume down, this is what I see:
"Android ww_epad-user bootloader ( e) released by "WW_epad-8.4.4.11-20110711"
Checking for android ota recovery
Checking for RCK... Press key <VOL_UP> in 5 sec to enter RCK "
If I don't press VOL_UP I get the wiping data option: " press <VOL_UP> to execute or <VOL_DOWN> to cancel wiping data". It is not the one of CWM.
BUT if I press VOL_UP ... an Android robot with an exclamative marks appear.
So... what am I missing? What's the actual status of the device? My guess is that stock rom is ok but recovery don't. How can I restore completely the situation to the stock one (or also, previous backups)?
Thanks in advance mates, unfortunately I have to add support for ad-hoc connection in 24 hours (to bring my tablet with me on holiday, otherwise I have no way to connect to the net and the device is quite useless ).
Understanding how to flash to stock version both boot and recovery is quite a nice way to start modding from scratch, having the knowledge that no matter what a mess I can do, there's always a way to repair to original, asus stock version
Ok, So I tried flashing Lightning Rom 2.0 using Philz Recovery. Installation went smoothly until the end where it failed to Lokify. I went ahead and installed the KK Baseband and attempted to boot. It was stuck in a bootloop. So I tried to boot back into recovery but being that I'm using the D801 model I had to flash Smiley's rom to remove recovery in order to avoid the "white lines" bug. So now I'm stuck with a rom that won't boot and no recovery. And when i try using LG Flash tool it says "Download Fail" " Device model is different". I know I'm using the correct files as I've used LG flash tool like 7-8 times on this phone. I think the rom failing to lokify changed the device model or something because even the bootloader looks different. (Before the interface was smooth, now the "No (exit) and Yes options are in boxes and turn grey when I highlight them. Someone please help me.
K, so i was attempting to install cwm recovery, as my ZTE's recovery practically commited suicide. i try to install it and was succesful. Using this to my advantage, i decide to downgrade from android 5.2 to cyanogenmod 7. every time i attempted to do it from my phone, file verification failed. this file was from the site and i attempted many times with redownloads. i boot my device into fastboot using adb. now, it wont respond to anything. ADB sees nothing, Recovery has yet again commited suicide, and i cant power it up. I've removed the battery and put it back in. i've taken out storage as well and tried. so, is my phone f**ked? or can i save it.
details:
Recovery: CWM 6.x.x.x
ROM: Stock
Device: ZTE Blade Q Lux
All drivers were installed correctly. all files were built for the phone and official.
i am happy to add more if needed.
Hi, I've just recently switched over from iphone to android so I'm still new to the whole system. Anyway I've been trying to root my phone for the past 2 days to no avail so I'm at my wits end here. Before I start my phone is from korea which I don't know if whether or not impacts its ability to be rooted, I've done all the basics like enable USB debugging from dev mode, install samsung usb drivers, open ODIN in admin mode and allow MTP to computer. My Device details are below:
>Baseband version : G906SKSU1CPF1
>KERNEL : 3.10.40-8533426
>BUILD NUMBER : MMB29M.G906SKSU1CPF3
So anyway I first tried flashing using CF autoroot for sm-G906S with odin which while it said it was passed and was successful on pc it would be stuck on the samsung logo with a message at the top left that said :
>Recovery booting
>Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
>set warranty bit recovery
So then I tried flashing TWRP custom recovery and putting Super user zip in the internal storage which although got my phone back to working order still wouldnt let me root as the process required me to go to recovery mode from the fastboot mode after it was done flashing (I tried both with and without autoreboot), however once the flashing was done on fastboot I couldn't get to recovery mode no matter how long I held the Vol up/power/home button combination and when i tried it after rebooting it would show normal recovery mode hence there was no way to install the Super User. (Also attempted this with phils recovery)
I then tried to do the TWRP method using adb with command prompt however it would get stuck saying waiting for device when i tried to flash and needless to say kingroot also failed.
At this point as far I've gone through all the methods I could find for my particular device. Would greatly appreciate any insight or advice regarding this problem.
Thanks

Hi,
I recently got me a Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) and the first thing i wanted to do was installing CM13 as I always do with my new phones. However, when i followed te steps on CM wiki using Heimdall to flash TWRP the blue bar of the downlaod mode increases a small bit, then stops and in the command promt it says something about error with finding PIT. After trying this for three times i decided to go with Odin, which I do prefer anyways.
I tried flashing TWRP , the blue bar is filling to 100% but then on the little screen where Odin usually states FAIL! or PASS! it just says RESET! and my phone is restarting. Shortly after it restarded you can see the RESET! turning to PASS!, but when I tried checking in TWRP is installed, it wasn't. I tried it again and then Odin suddenly says FAIL! After restarting my phone it says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I couldnt even enter download mode anymore till I tried if getting out the battery would work. I could enter download mode again and flashed the same TWRP on my phone again, and aigain it says RESET! but after that my phone worked again. I tried flashing with another version of Odin and TWRP but same thing happened - First run it said RESET!, second run FAIL!.
I thought maybe rooting the device and installing TWRP via their app afterwards could do the trick. So i tried flashing Autoroot with Odin but it made my phone showing a screen with Samsung logo and in the upper left corner something about recovery mode, seemed to be a loop/freeze. So i took out the battery again and flashed TWRP and that solved the problem again. At last I tried rooting by using TowelRoot but it says the service is not available for my device, even though S5 is listed as a supported device.
I really have no idea what to do anymore, would be very grateful if someone could come up with a solution.
BTW: Is it possible to flash CM13 without using custom recovery by using stock recovery?
Greetings

RESET! is basically the same thing as PASS! What version of TWRP are you installing? The keis screen you got is the same as download mode. Why are you using heimdal? your idea to go with Odin was a good one. Anyways, download TWRP 3.0.2 (not 3.0.2-1 or 3.0.2-2 as they are buggy) and flash it in Odin, reboot to recovery and install the ROM you like, of course following its specific install instructions. No, you cant install a custom rom with stock recovery
Thanks for your answer, meanwhile i managed to fix this problem. Had to flash the latest Firmware because twrp (could just install the oldest version otherwise I had no option to boot into recovery at all) said no OS installed. After rooting via Odin worked like it's supposed to.
Why did I use Heimdall? Because I wanted to stick to CM-wikis instruction and they used Heimdall.
