Hey guys,
a friend of mine wanted to get Android onto his HD2, so he decided to screw around with the MAGLDR. He said he flashed something on there, but the phone is stuck on the HTC logo.
I managed to get into bootloader mode, I annotated the picture of the screen I get!
Can anybody help me, I would be glad to communicate with any human being
Best of regards!
That bootloader is fine.
Magldr wont start if the radio is wrong, flash radio 2.15.50, reboot, magldr will start. Its usually step 2 after flashing 2.08.hspl in all the guides, and it mentions it in the magldr thread.
Thanks, samsamuel! Really helped, I'm running ICS now
Thread can be closed, btw!

Before I start I googled and tried methods I could and all failed.
My phone was working Link Hereperfect with no issues I had installed the DFT LEO Stock Desire NAND Rom.
A week ago it died and I charged it and powered it back up and got the white screen. It wouldnt go away until I pushed the yellow button on the back. Problem solve I would think.
Two days ago on my way to San Francisco it restarted and turned white. I tried all methods I found here and google none work. when I hold the down vol button I do get the 3 color screen and thats it. I attached an picture of what my phone says.

bump for what? You are just stating what happened to your phone.
My boys hd2 did this too... I plan on doing some extensive trouble shooting later this week so ill try to help you out if I can get it fixed. I guess, bottom line is, if you want android, buy an android device. ;-P

I like your answer... full of sense
@isaiah33
Do you realize that you didn't ask anything?
Do you post these nice explanations to inform us that stopping a device by removing suddenly its power supply is not good?
Then ok, thanks. Ask for a sticky.
@crx4xharder
If you're boy's phone can only boot in the first level loader... I think a week-end if long enough to make extensive trouble shooting
Ok, I agree I'm not nice... it's just to make you realize that if you want to ask someting... then ask, no need to make us imagine the question you may want someone to answer.
My question is how do I get this fixed? How do I get android back up and running. I want to get rid of this white screen.

What was the version of MAGLDR you had anyway? The ROM you are/were running is outdated by today's standards anyway.
I would do a task29 and start over. Then flash MAGLDR 1.3, CWM 1.3 and then a new ROM.

If you get bootloader simply flash a stock WM rom or MAGLDR, whats hard about that?
i tried flashing with task29 but it sticks at 0%
Do not use task29 for your problem. Fortunatly it doesn't "clear" the first level bootloader.
Press the vol-down key.
In boot loader, flash:
a/ a WM6 ROM (to do this you can just put a LEOIMG.nhh on the root of your SD)
b/ MAGLDR (the version you need for the build you want)
If you want to put a DFT build. In MAGLDR (so press "end call" and start the phone... keep end call pressed) choose the option "USB flasher" (something like this.
With DFT (in admin) flash:
a/ a DFT build
b/ CWM
If CWM, boot in MAGLDR, choose "AD Recovery" (for CWM 1.13)
In CWM choose the option to flash a zip build.
That's all... good question, good answer.
All what I said if well expained in diffferent sticky. You will find there a lot of step-by-step or video explanations.
Hope this helps.
He doesn't need to clear the first-level bootloader. You can see from his screenshots that he gets into the bootloader just fine. Task29 will format the NAND storage just as flashing a WinMo ROM does. The RUU does a task29 as part of the flashing process anyway. Doing just a task29 saves the time of flashing the ROM.
Either way, you don't "flash" task29. You run the command via mtty. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're saying when you "flash" task29 and it stayed at 0%.
What was the meaning of my "Fortunatly"
Clear the first level... brick the phone.
So for you task29 is equivalent to flashing a WM?
With or without radio?
(real question, I really don't know exactly what it's doing...)
I know that it "cleans" the NAND but it's not enough for me.
Anyway, I realize it will be better for me to read the dedicated thread or search on google.
For him I keep my advice to do all (task29, full flash from the beggining including WM). It's useless normally but as he has a problem...

For HD2 "mtty" is not required, there is a task29 nbh.

I tried updating the stock rom and it has a issue when it comes to the radio it says Radio Fail. This is the right rom I downloaded it off the tmobile website. I dont know why its failing. If you could help truc007 I am willing to help donate to you if I ge it working.
I couldnt flash the task29 so I ran the commands in mtty and flashed a rom and booted, still wsod...
Just flash back to the original ROM, then update radio, install magldr.

Hello, I am in need of some help. My htc hd2 got stuck on the MAGDLR loader and everytime I try to load android it goes through all steps, tells me it completes, Phone restarts, and then goes back to the MAGDLR loader. If somebody could get me out that would be great

It would help someone help you if you gave more info on the problem... like what exactly are you trying to load? Android from SD or nand? What build? What steps does it go through and complete?
first take the SD card out and back up your data i.e. sounds, photos, etc
1. go into bootloader (the screen with the red background, you can do this by holding the power on button down and the volume down button both together at the same time)
2. install task29 you can do this from the bootloader screen
3. reinstall magldr
4. reinstall a nand ROM
How to finish with that stcuking thing !
Hi,
I hope the following may help you :
The most important thing to notice is to flash a Radio ROM that supports 576RAM (don't ask me... :-D ).
The Good news are that the HTC Leo Radio 2.15.50.14 will.
So you can flash that radio right after running HSPL3.
MAGDL1.13 should work for as it did for me.
Good luck.
The post above mine seems to be the best route good luck.
Ok guys please help me since I couldn't find the answer
I installed on my hd2:
-HSPL 2.08
-Radio 2.15.50.14
-Magldr 1.13
-CMR
First of all I noticed that I dont have to hold the power button to get into the magldr menu.
I couldn't get into Boot As SD so I wanted to flash winmo stock rom from bootloader. Unfortunately I can't do that. Even tried HR. Is there any solution to flash stock ROM
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't use MAGLDR to flash your ROM. Hold the Volume Down rocker when you turn you phone on to access the bootloader (tri-color screen) and then plug your phone into your computer via USB. You should then be able to flash your stock ROM with no trouble.
Alternative: To go full stock, including going back to the stock SPL, check my signature for a link on flashing via the SD card.
Thank you for you reply After several attempts I managed to get my winmo back on via SD because RUU couldn't see my phone
Two questions: So do I still have MAGLDR and CMR after flashin' that stock rom ?
I can see in the bootloader that I'm back on SPL 3.03. Does that mean that I'm back on warranty and HSPL2 is uninstalled?
Thanks!

Yeah you lose everything. Yeah, if you needed to send it away now, you could as it has stock everything. May I ask, why did you install MAGLDR then not even use it properly? What were you trying to do? Dual boot WP7 & Android?
thanks!
Don't you worry I was doing everything by the book
Maybe you know why MAGLDR was turnin on even when I didn't hold the power button ?

When MAGLDR can't find anything to boot up (no properly installed ROM) it defaults to the same menu you see when holding the power button down.
It's strange cause the ROM was flashed properly, at least I think so. It was working properly...
MAGLDR was probably turning your phone in because it was connected to a power source. This had to be done because there was a bug in the old Magldr where you had to keep pulling out the battery. It doesn't go to the bootloader (HSPL) though. It'll boot up and say kernel failed.
What are you trying to do now, reinstall magldr?
Tried couple times and I didn't manage to install Android using MAGLDR 1.13 and CMR.
Now I'm back to WinMo and done for now with flashing Android. Don't want to have an expensive paper holder.
You probably had the wrong partition size in CWM.
I don't think there is really a way of bricking your phone doing this other than flashing an imcompatible radio. I've never had any trouble with flashing with CWM or MAGLDR. You say in your first post, you were trying to boot SD AD? You know that's not for .zips from CWM? That's for people who want to dual-boot WP7 and Android, you have to boot AD NAND for CWM.
CWM was already prepared by the developer
Oh...I was following the video tutorial and the guy gets into the recovery mod by getting into the SD AD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pxucOLY488
Actually I stuck at that point
That's the old way! There's a new way where you just flash a DFT and you go to AD Recovery in magldr an poof! CWM.
Here's the thread just incase you feel like doing it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
Don't forget to update your HSPL and radio before doing anything though as you're back on sh*tty WinMo.
I will check on it since you're encouraging me not to give up
Ha ha! Yeah, well I like helping people and Android is just a way better OS then WinMo. Any troubles, just post here and I'll try to help.
Thanks mate, really appreciate your help
No problem. So did you get it working yet or what?
PS. don't forget that thanks button if I've helped. ;D
Not today mate, maybe tommorow will let you know
[EDIT] Wait...today is "tommorow" so "maybe later" I'd say
did it already post #12
Nice... You might aswell do it now then... so you can spend tomorrow looking for apps and getting used to Android.
If I wouldn't have to write my MA dissertation, I would have my HD2 running Android by now
Have you tried it yet?
I'm currently having problems with my HD2 too.
Let's hope this stock ROM works.
Hi All,
2 nights ago I flashed my HD2 without any issues following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477. Now a friend saw how well Android ran and asked me to do the same on his.....
His phone is (Or was) identical to mine and I have used the exact same files to update the radio and the Rom..
Now, I have updated the Rom and I am only being shown the HTC logo when booting and it gets no further. Removing the battery and holding the power button does nothing.. I can get into the boot loader and that's it.
Any ideas what the issue is and how to resolve it?
Many Thanks in advance
Firstly, do you see ".hspl" in bootloader? If you do, then phone has been unlocked. Next, your MAGLDR hasn't flashed properly I guess. When you boot the phone does it show 2.1x.xx as the radio version? This might be the problem, because when you flash MAGLDR without the appropriate radio version, it stucks on the green logo.
Just repeat the procedure again, that should fix it.
First, 2.08.hspl (if not already unlocked)
Then Radio ROM
Then MAGLDR
Then DAF ROM or CWM
HI, first off many I thank you for your prompt reply
I ended it going back to the 3.14 stock rom from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283 and then going back through the processes...
All seems to be in fine working order now... must say I was somewhat bricking it!! lol
Hi all, I'm stuck again with my hd2, I have been using Android and totally love it, however my brother who also has same phone asked me to change his from win6.5 to android. I retied but it wouldn't even install magloader, I remember I had the same trouble when I first tried it on mine.
I spent a while repeating the steps I'd taken on mine and now I'm stuck with win6.5, I HATE IT and want android back.
My problem is, no matter what I do, I can't get the magldr screen to show up when I boot with the power off key pressed.
Please can someone help me, I've looked but can't find any help
is magldr actually properly installed on the handset?
Alright, we need more information:
-Radio version?
-HSPL version?
-How did you install Magldr
there are tools like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136644
that can help a lot, since it will install most of the things needed for android.
