i had just flash this firmware, its running smooth and the only problem is the gsm signal went up and down all the time even im using 2g network only.
i found this firmware has a lot of potential and even the app2sd is there.
can anyone tell me also which system application is safe to remove?
do you have baseband 015?
yes, baseband 015. everything seems ok for now...just the signal bar~
Could anybody please extract the original baseband files from the Leaked GB 2.3.4 (4.5.1-134)?
I reaaally need them, cuz I installed the Baseband Switcher, and it tottally messed with my signal, now I'm using an Indian baseband, It's working, but I don't know, I'm not feeling safe with it.
Thank you so much.

The best baseband for Brazilian users to apply in this rom is International RT. It supports all of our frequencies...
Does it shows more efficiency than the 'stock' one [2.3.4 supports only 900/2100]? I mean, VIVO operates under 850/2100 frequencies, and I noticed since updated to 2.3 my battery is draining quite fast. May that be the problem?
Plus, When i switched to VIVO (VIVA, as shown in the baseband switcher app), my network got all messed up. Then I changed to this International one (found in EUROPE tab, isnt it?) and then the signal was working again. Isn't there any issue? I mean, both of them (The International in wich you mentioned) and VIVO (VIVA) operates under the same frequency, and only the International worked.
Thanks anyway (I know, we're both brazilians speaking english, that's weird haha)!
Obrigado! hehe

The battery drain it's not related with baseband....
All the roms that i tried, 2.2, 2.3, none of them worked with brazilian basebands, only with this International RT and I dont know why!! I GUESS, it's because i'm using an European ROM and the International RT is a european baseband and Brazilian's baseband belong to Americas ones.
I don't know but i have read somewhere here that if your baseband does not work properlly it would drain a high amount of battery.
I'll give it a try again. Cuz my battery is damn bad!
Btw, can you help me in this? It all started when I upgraded to 2.2, then my battery drains about 2.5%/hour. Is that normal? I upgraded then to 2.3 but didn't help too, still draining 2.5% in an hour... Cuz I guess when I was with 2.1 my battery used to last a little bit more. Already wiped dalvik/battery stats/cache, did a factory reset, etc.
Thanks again!

Many people say that 2.2 and 2.3 drain more battery than 2.1, which is strange because these versions should be save more battery, but about that I dont know what to do... I never realized the difference betwen them...
About the baseband, it will drain more battery if it have problems to find the signal, your cell phone will be looking for signal every time, draining your battery...

Hello all!
3 months ago I got my defy unlocked from t-mobile.
I'm in mexico and I want to get my provider specific baseband files, but I'm wondering if it is possible to do it without rooting the phone.
I'm trying to contact some people with defy phones in order to get the correct baseband, but first I need to know if the phone needs to be rooted.
thanks in advanced.
Just root you're phone using superoneclick 2.1, then install defy baseband switcher.

you do need to root your phone, or... follow the easy instructions from this link
I'm not yet alowed to post links, buto just copy/paste
//smackdroid.blogspot.mx/2012/03/actualiza-tu-motorola-defy-android-23.html[/url]
It's in Spanish, and you'll turn your phone to IUSACELL, TELCEL or MOVISTAR, with the original SBF.
If it works for you dont forget to press the THANKS button...

using moto defy plus with cm 10 rom installed ....am using cell one network and facing problem with signal (weak signal)
kindly help me whether to change the base band selection ....and guide me in selecting
thank u
so.. I have this phone parked in my drawer for almost a month and finally decided to seek for online help.
Last rom installed is cm7 (but i've tryed several others cm7.2 cm9 cm10 cm10.1). I've tryed using both the baseband switcher included in the rom settings (where avaiable) and the standalone apk. I live in Italy so I chose Italy in the baseband selection (again.. I've tryed several others basebands just in case...). The sim card is a working VodafoneIT sim card and it is recognized by the phone.
the problem is that my phone does not lock to any network and I see the message "emergency calls only".
I also tryed to flash original sbf from here.
I don't know if it matters but logcat reports these errors:
Code:
E/GSM ( 6427): RIL implementation has returned an error where it must succeedcom.android.internal.telephony.CommandExcep tion: GENERIC_FAILURE
D/RILSWITCH( 2018): RILD unknown at cell -1
E/GSM ( 6427): Wrong network type: 0
I remember that at the time of when the problem showed up the first time, looking on the internet, in addition to the advice of changing the baseband, I found a thread where someone was talking about a possible hardware fail.. but I can't find it anymore.
any suggestion?
thanks
up????
i'm also having this problem
anyone found the fix?
Does the same error occur in stock? If so then I think it's a hardware issue. You could try a different sbf of your carrier and region(a newer one), but I do not think it would help much.

I have the same problem: no 3G data, no baseband (baseband unknow), no matter what I do.
The stock ROM woks fine, but the last CM10 (30/oct/13) dont work

Try with different bands from your country or another country with the same frequencies.
Pull the batery out for a few seconds.
Use the latest version of the standard app (not defy parts).
Regards,
It works for me with a different company of my country
My chip is Personal_AR and with this don't work, but with Claro_Ar works fine...
THX it's make me crazy
