Mytouch 4G Bricked or not? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello , i need serious help cause my phone is bricked , so i wanted to go back to stock rom , but i used gfree , so i had to flash the part7back file , but the problem is i don't have sooo , i used my uncles from his mytouch 4g and and when i turned off my phone to check if there was s-on , nope i wouldn't turn on , when i connect it to the computer it charges and adb finds it , but i need help to fix it , adb says its in recovery but i cannot see the screen , is their anyway i can fix the phone through adb ? Thanks guys for taking your time to read this and help me out

I've never used that method before but I know the part7backups are device specific. There really is no coming back unless you try manually flashing a new hboot to see if that works or putting pd15img.zip on the sd and blindly navigating...good luck

thanks , but i when the phone turns on , it automatically geos into recovery but i have to blind navigate , which i don't know clockword recovery by heart , so im kind of stuck.

if you don't know it by heart try using another phone so u can see the options that u should click on. or maybe finding a video on youtube that can show you the steps and options.. good luck..

[Q] Wildfire SDCard Update .. Help

I have t-mobile UK unrooted + simlocked
When i power on phone .. Round red icon comes on screen , then HTC logo & some music , then again tmobile logo comes & move a little & phone hangs there .. not going forward

You don't need to rename it to update.zip, just select install zip from sd card.
Download the right rom from shipped rom for your phone and run it from your PC
I don't think you can use the file you mentioned above as your phone is not rooted ( I might be wrong)

but still same position

Have you tried holding the volume key down and switching on the phone
then facotry rest
yes offcourse ... Hard reset was always my first step ..
update with shipped tmobile uk rom .. Then hard reset again but still same

i think problem is from h/w b/c if shipped rom is flashed OK & phone still have same problem then it must be hardware problem

Need help! gettin error and fone re-boot

i rooted my fone Htc magic 32B 2.2.1. installed the kernel from Rom manager. [email protected]#1[/B}]. after that when i unroot my fone from one click root app
i get this error /dev/block/mtdblock3 . i want to install gingerbread 2.3 in my htc magic 32B
i dont get this wat i did wrong cant go into recovery fone reboots while holding home+power/Endcall.. neither Reset mycellfone from main settings. i've to hold home, call back and end key to reset my cellfone
the main thing i want to know wat i did wrong is my fone bricked or im still able to do anythyg i dont know much about andriod stuff!

I have my HTC Magic 32 A bricked , after buying for not even 2 days .
I try to update my rom from the rom manager , and was told to choose .... oh god i forgotten the options , it was something like " MyTouch " , & HTC Magic . Of cos i choosen " HTC MAGIC " due to common sense .
And so my HTC began to restart , keep on restarting . I have tried
1 . POWER + back ( Yes , i can go into bootloader )
2 . Power + Home ( Nothing , just hang at the " htc magic " splash screen)
3 Power + Vol Down ( Yes , can go into Bootloader )
4 . Have tried upgrading rom thru fastboot
5. And installing new spl thru fast boot .
6. Keeping tapping on back button , when magic start up
***** Nothing helps , nothing works , it will either be stuck at splash , if not it will go back to Fastboot .
ANYONE , pls help , hv spend the whole nite without sleep , trying every ref i can find , pls help!!
You should have posted in general. This is the development forum. For DEVELOPMENT. Not for help. Posting help here just gets people mad.
And if you can get into fastboot then we should be able to help. What's your fastboot info?

I have tried looking every where for the answer . and what i think i hv found is
My fastboot info ( i supposed is this)

1. I can do change a new spl , flash a new radio , and flash a new rom
( Correct me if i'm wrong )( quite confused here )
- for Spl , Hboot , radio , i can access fastboot to do so , but to my knowledge i must flash a rom thru the recovery menu , but i hv no access over it . And when i try to install a new spl , radio ... etc thru fastboot , i see no differnt done , as the handset continue to restart after that . Pls advise , i am ready to accept any argument . Sorry for my poor english ..

You just need to flash a new recovery from fastboot and then flash the ROM. Mumilover has a guide stickied on the first page that has the correct recovery for your phone.

yup , hv oredi , done so , before your reply(Thanks a million anyway ) and i got it working , but i got the wrong rom ( wrong language) , so can anyone pls suggest to me a rom compatible to my system ? I tried the cyanogenmod 6.1 , but the handset could not start up , just hanged at " HTC Magic " screen . Hv also try " My hero " rom , but cant , keep restarting.
Pls help , i need to get my phone up , Thanks!!
You can use CM 6.1, but there is a 32A kernel that you need to flash also. Should be in the official CM 6.1 thread.

Hmmm , i 've got it , but when i try to flash the rom like Cm6 , My hero rom , it will end up restarting the handset or freezed in " htc magic" screen . The only rom i manage to flash in the ARA SENSE rom which i got from the Unlockr Web , but its all in arabic language which i can't understand .
Will anyone pls recommend me a rom which is easy to flash ( just flash from SD card ) . I just need a normal rom.

Did you try flashing a 32a kernel as DonJuan suggested? That should make cm6 work for you.
Remember, that flash cm 6.1 needs 2 things:
1) Old radio/spl combo... use my fastboot commander, magic version which you find in my signature, to change to old combo.
2) After you flash the rom, and gapps, you need EBI1 kernel. There is one on the site for dream... just use it... YOU MUST USE EBI1 KERNEL.
Or just keep the radio/spl combo you have now and flash this rom:

[R] HTC Panache Videotron Stock

After looking everywhere on the internet and only finding dead links I'm asking here if someone still had a copy of the
RUU_Glacier_Gingerbread_S_Videotron_CA_2.10.1530.1_Radio_12.55.60.25_26.09.04.26_M_release_188466_signed.exe
in order to unroot her panache. I did find the myTouch 4H but I really need the videotron one. Can some provide me a copy if you have any.

I got mine working by pressing volume down button when Videotron logo shows up and now it boots in safe mode.

ok first of all....if u r getting stuck on logo or for that matter any screen...u r NOT hard bricked...so put the jtag away...unless u really wanna make sure u carry around a dead phone = brick!!!
I put in a link for you on ur other thread but will put it here as well to help rener.....rener I have a mobilicity panache n I was able to successfully root using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912 just use that n u will be good to go

[Q] help with "dead" u8800,formatted partitions

hello all people,first sorry for bad english i try best so u understand okay
i have problem with my u8800,a friend of mine sell it to me for 20 euros bcoz it had crack and it had many missing screws but phone worked very good
i installed recovery via pink screen,flashed a cm7 but no work,then i tried to install again but cwm tell me sd card bad or something so i go to pink screen connected phone with usb and used windows built in disk managemt,there i found 3,6gb drive witch i thought was sd card so i formatted it fully it was done i took battery out and put back in but phone no turn on
plz help me this very good phone i wana use it again plzz help
