I have rooted my KF,and changed some system file.
I tested “Reset to Factory Defaults” in setting. But some files in /system still unchanged.
How to restore Kindle fire official ROM Just as the factory?????
Thanks very much for all!!!!!
First of all, seriously? In the dev section? Second, did you even look first?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378063
First page of dev section.
thanks!
I have seen it. But, is it the only way ? it can restore from CM7 to KF stock, i only want to restore changed rom to factory defaults.
Evening all -
I have an easy question - I have read the unbricking / restoring your KF thread and numerous other threads on the web about restoring a KF back to the factory state.
Let me start of with a few things
1) there is nothing wrong with my KF - it works great
2) I was rooted prior to the 6.2.1 update and Android Market is installed etc.
I am considering selling the KF for a different tablet but I want to ditch all applications, all SDCard information and anything remotely related to rooting.
If I use the "return to factory defaults" in the Device pull-down, will it do all of the functions listed above or will superuser .su stuff and SDcard stuff remain?
I just want to wipe it clean.
Thanks-
Benjamin
UGH - just after I post...

I suck
I believe I've had this problem in the past with other android devices but I don't recall how I solved it.
Basically I unlocked, rooted, and flashed CWN using the nexus tool kit (I am very capable of using adb just felt like simplifying). I then made a nandroid backup using the CWM that the tool kit flashed. Later, i updated to CWM touch with Rom manager. I don't think the new CWM caused this but for some reason i am unable to delete that first nandroid i made. I've made other backups since and have had no problem deleting them, it's just this first one that i made that isn't deleting for some reason. Any ideas? It's pretty much just dead weight on my storage at this point.

Shouldn't be posting this question in dev section but anyway Thanks to Phonic you can flash this zip and it will delete the entire CWM backup folder http://core.routed.com/CWM_Backup_Wipe.zip

As stated above this doesn't belong in Development and honestly this question is getting old.
See my most recent reply HERE which answers the question that was at least asked in an appropriate thread.
You need to flash the file you were linked to above and now that you have an "official" recovery installed the issue shouldn't happen again.
Sorry if I sound snarky but we have a nice new device and nice clean easy to browse and keep up with threads. It would be great if people just followed the rules to keep them that way.

Tried the Q &A, no reply... And yet you replied right away. Thanks
And yet had You Searched Q&A you would have had your answer immediately. Hmm'
A simple "please don't post this in this section" would suffice. Save the smart ass comments.
I just read through the stickies in regards to rooting a K1 and all of the instructions seem to indicate that the process of rooting will wipe the apps and data. Is there any way to root this tablet without wiping the apps and data?
Thanks!

I do not believe that is possible. And questions like this should be in the General section.

what is wrong , & how can i solve this issue??
sorry for my bad english & thanks in advance
Wrong section to post this in, questions belong in the Q&A section. It would also help if you described exactly what you did better.
Not sure that you have posted in the right thread
Have you try to wipe the cache in the recovery, and wipe Dalvik cache + fix in the recovery, advanced...
If it don't work, try an hardreset in magldr ...
sorry , I will post it in the right section

you should pay attention to partition size and also forum section
if loosing data is no biggy you can start from scratch. I mean task29, install magldr, flash recovery and then any rom you like.
