Does anyone think the 1Gb ROM is a major advantage of the TMOUSHD2 over the Euro HD2? Isnt it possible WM 7 or other future OSs will require more than 512Mb?
Also, I've seen in threads and stickies here that any Tmobile US ROM will work with Euro HD2, my question is, what if the size of the ROM is larger than 512MB? How is it possible EVERY TMOUSHD2 ROM will work in a Euro?
I really hope someone can put me right...
I believe after NAND android is possible the developers should go on two ways.
1 just for European HD2
2 just for TMOUS HD2
if they want to build best roms they must focus on one phone.
to make everyone happy they stay always stay middle of the way.
Some for european hd2 some for TMOUS hd2
if they work on just one model i'm sure every hd2 owners who on both sides can use more sufficient, more fast and more useful roms.
This is what i'm thinking.
The only difference between the phones are the flash space. The roms themselves will still fit fine on either euro or tmo phones. Currently euro hd2s still have over 200mb nand space free after a flash. There are options for storage on sd like ext partitions or data.img on sd. Until roms exceed the capacity of the euro's nand, the distinction does not really need to be made let alone separate development.
Hi All
Where to find super-fast and fault-free android rom

Sell my HTC ? and I take buy T-Mobile HD2 ??
For all unhappy brodhers...
Hi
The faster sd ROM I ever seen is the one from Dandiest v4.31.44.12 (quadrant score up to 2900)
I'm very happy with MccM MixTheme V1.1 HTC Sense.Iphone.ICS.Stable Miui base[GB 2.3.7]... Very fast, stable, almost perfect
Fastest I saw is AmericanAndroid,
But I didn't try the 2 others above.
At the last question, do not buy a T-Mobile HD2. Instead buy a larger SDHC (MicroSD) card, for increased storage and the T-Mo HD2 doesn't offer a significant RAM improvement. Finally, there is a larger risk of bricking a T-Mobile HD2, as you may accidentally flash an incompatible radio.

Apologies, but I don't quite understand what you mean. this is a quick summary of the differences between the two HD2 models, it shows that there are very few differences between them.

I don't think this is related to the model version of your HD2. Perhaps the ROM is different or he has a better SD card (class 2 can sometimes be faster than class 6). Hope this helps
Try tytung's gingerbread rom on nand. It should be fast and stable. It's reliable and it works which is probably what you want for business.

The US Model is much better for NAND due to the larger size. On my NRG ROM, it only works NAND on the US model; others have to use the SD card. And on my TMOUS, I have only about 150Mb RAM left after booting, so I personally like the extra 125mb that this model uses.

Really ?
EU HD2 ? or T-Mobile HD2
This day I change my phone ?
My phone is EU HD2 and T-Mobile HD2 100$ difference
Sory my bad english
Don't change there is no need, only extra is memory nothing else. (Or so I believe) I have great belief that redux2 rom is the best and smoothest rom for the EU hd2 version 1.2 is my personal favourite only needing 60/5 partition lay out leaving plenty room for apps so no need for an ext partition on the SD.

The anz realy depends on ur need. If u r an office man, and not going to spend much time in tweeking and moding ur phone, i recomend u a sense based rom which is already tweeked and boosted. For now u should use android 2.3.xx rom, as they are heavely supported and updated.miui latest build is also nice. Stable and eyecandy like ios.
If u do much more than the above, u should go for cyanogen based 2.3.xx roms. Be ware cm roms are highly open for devs and includes much more things. They may / maynot be stable( depends on build versions).
Any way, applying a super charger script to any rom boost its perfomance several times..
send from my hd2 @ miui 1.12.2
I´m using Runnymede Sense 3.5 build from NRGZ28 and im happy with this rom.
it´s "sense" and very fast in my opinion.
While I've used most of the above, the most STABLE I've witnessed is still NexusHD of Nov 06. Its in-built tethering is solid (unlike the MIUIs which almost always require 3rd party apps), 3g data is most stable especially in areas with rather spotty service (in comparison with the present most recent MIUIs = Jaguaralani, MCCM, etc). Its battery consumption is zero when not in use and in flight mode; when limited to 2g it is consistently very low in consumption on standby (< 5percent in 8-9 hours). Records and views 720p vids but, just like the MIUIs, can't record for longer than about 14min.
U the best rom I have found it

If you want a fast rom, try aosp/cm7. I would recommend nexushd2 and hyperdroid. Stable, fast and a good battery life

Yep, I agree. This is the fastest SD rom I have tried on my phone. Everything is working and you should have no problems with it whatsoever.
Hi Friends I am going to purchase a used HTC HD2 so i need your help in choosing as in which version shall i buy the old htc hd2 or the tmobile version please help. I am from India
t-mobile version is the best
T-mobile offers 1GB of NAND (which is excellent !!!) .. but you need to be careful of what radio you flash, it is easily bricked by flashing an incorrect radio
So, yes, go for the T-mobile. (but be careful)
TMOUS ..............

No doubt HD2 T-Mous .... I own HD2 WWE and T-mous ...
Buy original T-mobile I had it from last 2 years no problem. Try to get original with windows mobile 6.5 unlocked. Do not be fascinated by Android or Windows 7 in HD2 as preinstalled because you can install them yourself when you get the phone. And you never know preinstalled android or W7 might have some bugs or tweaks required. good luck. And congrats because you are about to buy the most powerful phone in the world.
Thank you very very much
Thank you Thank you Thank you I am going to get the tmobile version in a few days however anyways to check if its a genuine tmobile any signs i can look for ?
Also I really appreciate you guys making an effort to reply as this was my first post in the hd2 world, and I am going to sell a 8 months old galaxy ace for the HD2 and your reviews have just concreted my decision hence cheers HD2 here I come
Hey.. b carefull!!
I appreciate your choice to buy HTC HD2, its amazing set
But be careful, some of the HTC HD2 sets have unresolvable hardware issue, that is they get overheated followed by freeze on mild to moderate usage, they work fine until their temp rises to 36~37 C, suddenly they freeze like that nothing will work, neither hardware keys, nor screen will respond, no other way to except pull out battery, wen u ll restart phone, it will vibrate 7 times and again will freeze, only way to let phone work again is to let it cool down for 5,7 minutes
So this sort of mobile set will be handicap especially in temperate climate of India, so i recommend you that when you examine your mobile, do anything like wifi downloading, net browsing, mobile call, video playback for at least 15, 20 mins and observe if this phenomena happen, if you find so, don't purchase such mobile set
Regards
Thanks a ton

Can anyone give the reason to go for T mobile HD2 other than 1 GB Rom in it..
I am getting HD2 EU version and was just curious why not other HD2
Will 1GB Nand makes any difference in flashing or any other activities or general working of the phone as such? .. obviously 1GB>512MB so ppl will obviously go for it, but just want to know will it make any difference
Bigger ROM space is very very useful & touchscreen on TMOUS is the revision 300 type.
If you can not get TMOUS then a 512mb version will do ok ...

I am getting 512 HD2 EU version only.. Can you tell the major difference btw 1024 vs 512 HD2...
Also what is this revision 300 type.. how is it different from 512 HD2 ?
Just curious..
revision screen has better build & not same supplier as 295 solder type & plug clip connector between LCD & digi.
You will find some 512 models have later type 300 screen & you can check this in bootloader.
As for RAM you will wish you had more but it is not a big problem.
Honestly? The end user will probably not notice the difference between the two The only thing that matters is how well the previous owner has taken care of the device!
If you still have doubts then ask yourself 2 things:
1. Are you going to be cooking your own ROMs?
2. Are you going to repair the phone yourself if it breaks?
If you can answer no to those questions then the best choice for you is the phone in the best condition - simple as that!
If you want to know the differences then the US version has a different digitizer that is more easy to chance if it breaks and then of course 1024 mb of NAND memory The latter might be a tempting point to choose the TMUS over the EU version but again you have to ask yourself if you are going to use the extra memory? Dont you use your memorycard? The only thing that comes to mind for me personally is that of bad sectors The more NAND you have the more bad sectors you can have but that is a small problem only... Go for the phone that is in best condition - period!

i'm surprised no one has mentioned the RADIO differences between the EU n TMOUS models.
my understanding is that if you require using 3G data, then the EU model is more friendly/compatible to the bands/frequencies used in most regions of the globe. the bands/frequencies supported by the TMOUS for 3G r more friendly with the TMOUS network.
someone please correct me if the above factor is incorrect!

Yep, that's what I had heard as well. Plus, I have the international version and can't connect to T-Mo's 3g.
TMobile 3G Network radio frequency - HSDPA 1700 / 2100
Other International 3G Network radio frequency - HSDPA 900 / 2100
One should have problem only with upload in Tmobile 3G frequency if he/she uses international version.. Am i right here?
Also is there any possibility that NAND roms size goes above 512 MB ? in that case how the international version handles it..
Radio difference is not a big issue, TMOUS works on GSM/Edge worldwide & 3G has worked fine for me in UK/Germany/Spain/Hong Kong/Singapore/Thailand on various networks ...
Good condition HD2 is most critical issue as posted above, I bought a TMOUS as cheap here new & come with 16gb SD plus 1GB RAM is a slight plus & they have the better screen as standard & later built units also have revision mainboard.
an wwe/eu hd2 does all the job that a tmous hd2 can !!
its just the rom difference ie 512mb vs the 1024mb in tmous !!
u'll mainly need the extra rom size while flashing the sense roms !!
sense roms are usually bigger is size and u'll require an ext3/4 partition on sd card for processing the dalvik cache !!
tmous hd2 doesnt require the ext3/4 partition as the extra 512mb is available on it !!
cyanogenmod, miui, wp7, wp7.5 and other os's !! work fine on both models !!
here is a comparison of both the devices !!
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=2957&idPhone2=3228
you'll just find the difference in the extra nand memory !!
and i think ur from mumbai so device will be used in india !
in india, 2G bands :900 1800 and 3G : 2100
are the respective network frequencies !!
so both devices will have full network support !!
good luck !!
choose wisely ! !!
Hello XDA !
Today I have a choice, I can have a HTC HD2 for 115€ and I don't know if it's a good deal because HD2 is pretty old.
Am I wrong Am I right ?
TMOUS US version or Europe version ?
Ok deal if device is in perfect condition & working 100% correct. bonus if TMOUS version.
also check to see if void tags are missing from screws under battery cover & signs of repair such as new screen assembly !
If void tags missing then worth less ...
It's an European version "almost new" and unlocked for all provider/network
Edit: what are the advantage of TMOUS ?

It has more internal memory
So for this price i should deal with it ?
If totally as new & comes with decent sd card & you want one then ok.
Can not round it up to 100Euro?
Have you checked void labels & water damage label !
At end of day it is up to you & you only. If device perfect & with 16GB or 8GB quality SD card price is ok but not cheap ...

Not true I have no lag at all on mine.

would be a good deal with tmous model.
with the eu model, its a no from me.
i would not buy an HD2 to go Android or WP7
If intending to experiment with some OS's & use Windows 6.5 then ok useful, if want get best out of Android or WP get a new device which come with that OS.
Ported OS's for HD2 are a superb acheivement but do have issues that should be taken seriuosly if buying it for one specific OS use ...
Thanks for your advices !

If it is 100% is a good choice. I got to buy one and the lowest I got was 250€
hey i want to buy US/EUR version of HD2... being in INDIA, from where and how can i buy one....
I bought one (in the Netherlands) about 6 months ago for 130 euros, as good as new
At first I just wanted to experiment with windows 7 and then mayb get a SGS2 BUT i see no need! I am running ICS (icecreamtosti 0.11) flawless with no lag (exept in pinch zoom, which is a HWA issue)
My advice, if you do not run hardcore 3d games a lot and just want to use your phone for the basics and some light gaming (like angry birds or temple run) then the HD2 is still a very good buy
Good Intel. A friend of a friend just gave me one with a shattered screen. TMOUS. I can't tell about internal memory since the screen is unresponsive. Boots though

Yes it's a great phone and with PATs JW MIUI Sense like 2.1.20 ML and with a 32GB SD card it works like no other! Of cause I use Data2SDInstallerv1.3_GB so that my SD card functions like memory, you can set the size to what you want Mine is 2GB. I hope you will love it to. Had a lot of phones but this one is the one. The only disadvantage: there is no FRONT camera! Succes and greatings from the netherlands.
