Preparing to flash "Darky's Raw Steel Edition v3.0" i went back to JM9 and played around for a bit, for nostalgia's sake.
And then something crossed my mind...
"Damn! this is fast!"
Even without a lagfix or overclock, or even anything custom, JM9 is so much faster then the froyo releases we have currently...
The startup animation is actually an animation not a slideshow
Scrolling is no longer jumpy and laggy, it once again, tracks your finger like it should
The internet browser is no longer a useless pile of S*%t, i forgot how damn good the eclair one was, no longer do i need opera mini
The music player no longer lags when scrolling through a large song list, and it no longer freezes up when playing in the background (! wtf??)
Touchwiz scrolling is much improved
Launcher pro no longer lags, especially in the app drawer
We have more ram, without having to resort to gutting potentially vital VGA buffers
Im sure i am going to find some more... after using JPM, JP6 and JPA for a few weeks nearly now and not once being happy with performance, i have flashed so many custom roms, tried every filesystem on universal lagfix, voodoo, alpha overclock and ram mods and still i am not happy one bit.
Sure we may have a higher linpack score, we may have a few new features, but the performance and experience has not improved, and this is what froyo is supposed to be about!
I cant believe how much Samsung has messed up, we have been waiting months for this!
There, i said it...
Anyone else care to share their opinion?
I would stay on 2.1 JM9 if only there was a kernal with the universal lagfix (jfs with startup tweaks) + OC + Memory Tweaks.
Ugly truth. Only thing better in froyo is newer version number.
Oh. And stereo FM Radio.
And..
Version number?

You may not have JFS but you have voodoo, there is raspdeeps OC kernel, and to start with we have more ram anyway and (seemingly, well, the broswer doesn't take 120mb now atleast) better memory management
Eclair feels like a polished engine
Froyo feels like a polished turd
I was all for froyo simply for the flash.... then i found out how ****ty flash was. The only flash site I go to that was good was Youtube. All my other flash video sites were complete crap (i like to watch livestream/ustream starcraft games on teamliquid.net and it was unwatchable with sgs flash.)
Infact the browser is ridiculously better in eclair.
How much ram does it take to load pocketnow full desktop version?
Froyo: 120mb+, followed by a memory dump, allot of lag and a FC
Eclair: 30mb, yeah, 30mb, with smooth pinch to zoom, and no lag
I totally agree, JM9, then I've put tayutama super lite 1.2 for eclair ofcourse, along with voodoo lagfix and Bln. Its the best i've found so far, and i've tested all others, but none is so good as the JM9 config i have.
Why are we bothering to go to froyo when we can have a very good eclair rom, which really is super fast, without any lag, extremely stable. All is perfect in here. I've even got setcpu to 1.2ghz. And i got quadrant scores of 2085, at times 1895, it but its between 1800 and 2085. So, its really good.
Now, i don't really think the benchmark is what we should rely on. What we need to see is the everyday use, and i must say its Perfect, the best ive used, and im loving this phone more and more. And now i can even use live wallpapers, its not even slowing my phone, whereas with all froyo rom, it was slowing my phone a bit.
Guys, try Jm9 with tayutama superlite 1.2 with voodoo lagfix and setcpu. Forget the froyo roms, u'll be disappointed.
Yeah that is what i was using before 'upgrading' to froyo, i really forgot how good it was...
Unless some dev (cyanogen, desire hd port, not counting samsung as losing faith...) pulls off something amazing with froyo i really see absolutely no reason to go to froyo.
The browser even benches the same in browserbench, ~28,500 no mods
Its really strange because in certain benchmarks froyo is a fair bit faster, but none of it translates to general usage
I've been unwilling to change to Froyo ever since hearing about the huge amount of memory used by the browser, and corresponding FCs. I'd like JIT and Flash etc., but it really does seem like Eclair is better at the moment.
Flash in JPM is terrible, when you scroll the page the flash box isn't even anchored to the page, it jumps about. looks really bad
its almost impossible to scroll the screen once you are over a flash box, it just doesn't register
Whilst I agree that eclair is better at the moment, I have to wonder why this thread is in the Dev forum. i9000 General is that way --->
nobody reads that forum!
agreed i installed darky's 3.0 froyo rom and its ok...
like yall are saying its not better by any means... as a matter of fact my data now is giving me problems... and market place too...
my questions is how do i get back to eclair? whats the best 2.1 rom out right now?
JM9 + Voodoo = Blazing Fast! : )
Tayutama jm9 + oc kernel (with voodoo) + noop scheduler
It makes jpm its *****
Lol

Yeah i have to agree with you all.The performance in froyo is simply disapointing.I dont expect the final release from samsung to be better.Im only staying with froyo because of the great work made by some devs with the universal lagfix.I will try the official when its ready. And probably after that i will return to eclair.
Yeah I definitely appreciate all the work done by the devs here, if only samsung were half decent at software...maybe we should petition google saying samsung is ruining androids name, give us some love too google!
But I thought there was no official froyo for galaxy s yet?
I don't believe that, Samsung obviously released it on purpose then withdrew it after people complained about phones bricking with the OTA, and how bad it is.
Either that or someone must have got fired for uploading the source and the rom onto the kies server
I'll have to respectfully disagree. I was pretty disappointed with Froyo initially, but my current config is a speed monster.
Kalpik's JPA ROM (pre merger with Doc)
ULF No-RFS advanced e4 (selected option to not backup, so wipe after lagfix)
All kernel tweaks
Minfree at "optimal"
The browser specifically is faster than eclaire, I have no doubt about that. Even with full facebook pages open, it consumes something like 10 to 20 MB.
Contacts, dialer, MMS, mail, everything opens instantly and scrolls very smoothly. Before this, (and several disappointing froyo ROMs) I was on JM9 + Tayutama + Voodoo, and I can assure you this feels just as fast, if not faster (browser is definitely MUCH faster)
I think having flash is cool. Doesn't seem as good to me as the oc'ed dl09 blackhole I was running before. Seems glitchy and temperamental. I haven't run one rom for a few days to let things settle in but that's because it just isn't doing it for me yet.
Maybe when the kinks are worked out and there is an overclocked voodoo option it will be more to my liking.
Some of the controls do not seem as intuitive either such as settings that have to be activated through an action or haptic having to be turned on but vibration intensity set to zero to turn it off when typing in different apps.
I see why verizon and samsung don't throw it on the market as is.

Im running Rubik's and am extremely impressed. I feel like it does everything faster. Only thing I find that has taken a step backwards is the web browser. It seems a little slower and doesn't autosize websites when I double tap.
Really that's my only thing ... I'm not seeing a lot of the bugs that have been reported by users.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
i second the rubik's post. but alltogether, froyo is kind of...
lame. everyone said we shouldn't get our panties in a bunch over it. and they were right. it seems to cause just about as many problems as it fixed.
so again, i guess we go back to hating samsung code dev. why can't this just be a google native phone? when android started that was the idea right?
(of course this is most likely due to the difference in hardware, but its still fun to blame samsung).
I actually find the browser to definitely load sites a bit faster than Eclair's -- which should be expected since a browser performance boost is one of Froyo's top-billed features.
That said, I think people need to remember that this (DL30) is almost certainly not a release that will ever see the official light of day. Simply put, we're running a leak that was never supposed to get out. There are obvious bugs (like long-pressing search) and quite likely more than a few non-obvious bugs too. Heck, Droid Life already has pictures of a newer Froyo ROM with all the expected Verizon bloatware (Blockbuster, Bing, etc.), so that just adds support to the idea that DL30 simply isn't ready for primetime.
But I do have to say this: whether on stock Android or not, Froyo does offer a measurable performance boost over Eclair. Anyone who says otherwise really should take a look at the benchmarks performed by quite literally every major tech blog and news site out there. Of course it's not like getting a new phone, but it truly is a noticeable speed boost. So why aren't we seeing much if anything noticeable now? That should be obvious: bloatware aside, once again, we're simply running an unfinished ROM.
Froyo is great. Please don't complain about it. People worked hard for this. We don't need your discouragement, this will develope more, just give it time

The wait for Froyo's feature set was for me, secondary to the wait for the development boost. The guys on our forum do great things, but noone wants to be working with 2.1.
This brings us to the proper foundation to build from.

It's OK.
It only confirmed what i already knew. That our XDA developers are the true innovators and the only ROMS i care about are theirs.
I was one of those that frequently said Froyo was not a big deal. I installed it, and my thoughts are mixed.
Was it worth the wait? well there are things that i liked and things not to like.
Here's what i liked. For starters, I have a galaxy tab and when i installed my games onto my Fascinate they didn't work. I suspected it was because of Froyo 2.2. I was right. They all came to life on Froyo. Pocket legends HD is spectacular. I also am able to use Kongregate now as well as Hulu (with mod). The email reader was slicker and the facebook integration smoother.
Here's what i disliked. While i've had no bugs (i re-installed a stock image first), it is slower, less bells and whistles than my previously fabulous Custom Rom's and themes. and of course back to bloated touchwiz junk. I did put adw, but it still seems slower than before. Most of the upgrades were under the hood and to be honest i never really felt them.
I miss my custom themes, but for now i'll keep this froyo and wait for themes ported to it to give it my final opinion.
Froyo delivered what I wanted it to deliver:
- A GMail app that has almost all of the features I need
- A contact list that sorts by last name
- The ability to move apps to my SD card
- Fully functioning Flash
I am happy....
Slower then my dj05....period.

According to quadrant...I'm running 115mhz slower on dl30 with a decrease of about 3 mflops...so I'd say it is not faster. It's actually very...apparent
Overall, I'm happy with it. Selecting text and cut/copy/paste is vastly improved, it's got built-in screen capture, better multitouch, better g-mail client and I can now use the full Skype app.
The little glitches need to be accepted in so far as we *are* using a leak. There are reasons Verizon hasn't released this yet, and chances are, these are those reasons.
so far I'm loving the 2.2 leak. Working great.

Moving apps to SD card
is there are ROM that has this feature included?
Right now everything is definitely faster than my completely stock fascinate. The only thing that doesn't work is the included email and Google maps and navigation which is a little annoying
Are you kidding? Flash, new Gmail, sort contacts, add ringtones without having to create a phone contact, and Chrome to Phone. I can't tell you how often I use Chrome to Phone. Anytime I need to install a zip, I just send it right to my phone. Overall, I have to say 2.2 is a very nice improvement over 2.1.
For me, the DL09 w/voodoo was the best overall Fascinate experience... but coming from a Froyo'd OG Droid... I really missed Chrome to Phone and Flash... so that's why I am running DL30.
What I am hoping for? DL09 Voodoo performance with DL30 features... I am gonna stick with DL30 for now (as switching back from DL09 Voodoo bricked my phone) and hope that we can get Voodoo like performance soon enough...
def
I did the stock (rooted) leak and then went to Superclean for Froyo. Superclean can be modded with blackhole elements and other tweaks you can find in the forum. Bottom line? I get faster performance and less lag. The browser works faster and it is a cleaner integration. My only issue now is battery life. I was getting very good battery life with my old setup. So I wiped bat stats, reinstalled clean after wiping everything, etc. and it still doesn't seem right. When I check usage it seems to overly point out display (like 95% of battery usage). I'm not sure what's going on but I'm up to about nine hours of battery life so it's good enough. I'm hoping some of these things will get resolved as time goes by. Any wisdom, let me know. Overall, froyo works well and will only get better.
One note. I was noticing the browser issue as well. Go to the settings in the browser and that will take care of it. Apparently "resize" isn't the default as it should be.
The Froyo Gmail app allows me to send outbound mail from all the addresses I have set up in my Gmail account - a significant improvement from the pre-Froyo version which only sends outbound mail from your main Gmail address.

The stock ROM has it. You need to go to Settings / Applications / Manage Applications. Click on the app you want to move. If the app supports moving, the "Move to SD card" button will be active. Just press that button.
Now that I have Blackhole 4.1 the experience is getting better. Seems to be running smoother.
Can't wait for voodoo and oc'ed kernels.
Not any one thing in particular, but just overall it "feels" unresponsive? I have the OTA update before it was suspended.
Am I the only one noticing this?
Also has anyone been able to actually use the new Calculator? That thing doesn't register button presses to any form of practicality for me.
I'm just wondering if there are steps to fix this, or if this is how ICS is on the Nexus S. I'd rather go back to GB if that was the case.
I haven't noticed any unresponsiveness issues, to be honest. Although I had the phone just for a short while before the ICS update came out. So I didn't have much time to get accustomed to GB in order to be able to compare them accurately.
I had some random crashes, but last night I did a factory reset and it solved those issues for me. I'm using the calculator on a regular basis, no issues there.
the same to me, seems to move slower after OTA update
Because gb was made just for this phone. Every other phone just runs it, wasn't tailored for them.
Now ics was made just for the gnex. Same as all nexus phones.
Gb was made for the hummingbird. Etc etc...
Simple as that.

Wrong section btw. Mod should move it.

Same here....maybe because of all the new animations?
Its much faster for me
Nothing slow over here my phone is faster then ever
From the browser to everything in general....
Everything is working up to par on my end.
It is fast, but GB was faster overall. Not sure even "faster" is the better word. Perhaps "snappier" is more appropriate.
You can notice it in the small things... Opening an app, scrolling in some menus, etc.
Nop, It's running super fast here.
Browser experience is best ever!! Changing tabs is fast and very cool with the zooming animations
I say overall, it's feeling even faster than gingerbread.
Even with the battery issues, I'm not downgrading.
No problem here. Pretty smooth and snappy. Of course I flashed a custom kernel, OC and all the mod goodies. All help my phone snappier. I also recommend spare a buck and buy Autostarts app from the Market, if your phone is rooted.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Runs very smooth here. Stock ICS 4.0.3 on i9023 ;-)
The experience overall is very smooth. The browser has a few quirks here and there with some websites, but overall its much better than the GB browser. The only place where I feel the phone struggles is opening the app drawer. It's like waiting for one of the older automatic cars to gear shift when u put the pedal to the metal.
My only problem is the frame-rate in ICS. Just swiping over home screens seems limited to 30 fps (definitely below 60).
Nope my phone is not slower at all.. ICS is very snappy!!
no troubles at all.
flashed the 4.0.3 stock plus the Glados v2.3 kernel (deep idle is a beast, rly...) and my NS is faster than ever. I'd never return to gb.
battery power ends in about a day if I use the phone intensively (internet, wifi, 3g, some games, music and so on...) but in a daily use (some sms, facebook news, email reading, etc) I'm experiencing no "battery drain problems" at all. charged 2 nights ago, still at 68% right now... (probably because the kernel, tho...)
edit: i forgot to mention that I'm running 110% live OC w/stock voltages and get no reboots or similar hellish-noobish things
Mine seems quicker and more responsive than ever I'm happy to say.
No lags or any problems with ICS stock rom. Also some of the best battery life for a long time.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Absolutely no,
I formerly used CM7.1 and then installed ICS in the cleanest possible way (wiped everything, went to 2.3.3, updated to latest Gingerbread, wiped everything installed ICS from the zip file)
It works alot better, it feels much smoother, web browser was improved alot.
I can use the calculator properly and it works better than in GB, maybe its a random matter that some people face.
In my case , ICS >> GB. feels as if I got a new phone.
I love ICS on the Nexus S, no sluggishness at all. Custom roms seem to be very buggy and slow. I'm running it strait stock with no problems at all.

Hi everybody! I have some "newbie" questions about CyanogenMod 9...
1. Is it really faster compared to stock ICS? I haven't overclocked the processor and my main problem with ICS, is that the default launcher has a little stuttering some times and it's not absolutely smooth. In CyanogenMod9, the "Trebuchet" launcher is almost at the same level in terms of "movement flow".
I had Nova launcher previously and I'm thinking of installing it again on CyanogenMod 9...will this be a right move?
2. What else is better than the stock ICS there? Ι already use that marvelous power widget inside the notification bar, but, except some similar workflow tweaks, I can't see anything else...any feature list compared to the stock ICS 4.0.4?
3. Why the torch toggle-in-notification is disabled in settings? (the pre-installed torch seem to work perfectly)
4. Screen brightness gets increased when there is a lot of light around, but It doesn't decrease its brightness when I go in a dark room again...Am I doing something wrong? (I haven't touched those sensor filters etc...)
Can you please help me? I'm not a developer and I'm mostly concerned about a smooth and fast experience.
1. Make a nandroid and try it out yourself.
There is no right move. Do whatever it is you want. Your phone won't explode if you install the "wrong" launcher.
2. Take a look at the popular roms in the dev section and repeat #1. Or look at bedalus's benchmarks if you're really that apprehensive.
3. probably hasn't had the bugs worked out.
4. again, maybe a bug. After you flash a couple of roms I'm sure you'll see that you can get #3 and #4 working.
More doing and less thinking. As I said, you have a nandroid to fall back on.

Thanks for the response!
1. If you read carefully my post (sorry for my bad English), you will understand that I already have tried CM9 v6.0 and that was the reason I wanted to know more, because I don't see any performance improvement over stock ICS 4.0.4 on my Nexus S. Am I wrong? There must be some objective reasons except my judgement.
2. I was talking specifically about CM9 features.
3. I figured that with the torch...it's probably not ready yet. I can't find any post about the brightness though (there are so many options there which I don't fully understand and brightness never works as it should).
4. I don't want to flash other roms...I have already flashed Wildestpixel's roms and I didn't see an obvious performance difference too...
For trebuchet if you check (or unchecked I forget) the join with apps setting it makes the launcher just as smooth as gingerbread
Well, I switched from Bugless Beast today to latest CM9 nightly (15.4, not the KalimochoAz version posted on here).
Haven't tried CM9 for a while and it surprised me, speed wise and stuff integrated in it. I'm a fan of stockish ROM's, that's why I used BB since ICS came out. What made me stay is:
- integration of BLN & Voodoo sound, meaning I don't need to run those 2 apps in BG (saves memory ofcourse, I'm a sucker for optimization)
- BigMem is quite noticeable, also RAM free right after clean flash is about 200MB (vs 140MB on AOKP, which is the ****tiest, meaning when I use the apps I have in BG, there was constant launcher restart - low on RAM)
- seems like internal storage speed is faster, I noticed level loading on Where's my water game is perhaps the same as on GB (was waay slower when ICS came out)
- nice UI optional goodies in the ROM but still without AOKP "lets **** everything in" bloat (battery %, power key camera shutter, custom autobrightness levels, T9 dialer). Wanted those on BB, where they were out of question, since BB is more stockish.
- no weird governors, OC or voltages, just ondemand/cfq as on stock, don't use deep idle
So for me, it's a good sweet spot between stock and custom ROM.*
*Disclaimer:
I've used BB for months & AOKP for 2 weeks, both on SimpleKernel, which is basically stock with added BLN&Voodoo. I don't fiddle around with OC/Governors. Those are my observations and I don't intend to debate "why you didn't use "xxkernal v.9302".

Today, I'm trying out the 1200 OC, works completely stable so far, playing with the phone over half an hour now. 1400 rebooted after couple minutes. Try it out !
About brightness decrease, you need to enable it in extra auto-brightness settings at the bottom.

I'm using CM9. Last rom I tried was AOKP build 32, but I went back to CM9.
Let me start off by saying - I have never rooted or installed any custom roms or whatever on my phone. The reason is that I just wanted a phone and not play around with it anymore (playing around = more can break).
Since my SGS3 notified me about the JB update and I installed it via OTA i literally started hating my phone. Here are multiple reasons why:
WiFi does not work. I have the same N-router I had before JB and since then my phone couldn't log in to my WiFi network - always stuck on "authenticating". I then configured the phone to use a static IP and not DHCP and it can connect successfully to my network - but I have NO internet connection. I now my router is fine because it used to work great before and my Nexus 7 as well as ALL other devices work without a problem. I refuse to downgrade my routers speed to B- or G-speed.
Google Calendar won't sync. Under Sync -> Google, for more than a week it says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.". Mail and Contacts etc. sync just fine. Calendar on my Nexus 7 syncs fine too. ****ing annoying to not have your appointments visible.
Battery dies _much_ faster. For some reason the battery doesn't last anywhere as long as it used to with ICS. I'm not doing anything different, the battery just drains and drains. I have a suspicion about "gpsd" which sometimes pops up under "Settings -> Battery" even though I haven't used Google Maps or anything. I keep killing it but the phone still dies at least three times faster than before. So it must be more than just gpsd.
F*cking hot! Using it to text someone real quick - the phone gets really hot at the bottom. What the F is up with that? I'm not playing a game or watching a movie or whatnot. 1 minute of WhatsApp makes my phone go toast. On ICS i had to really push the phone to become hot.
Slow. Navigating menus etc. got of course more smooth than on ICS but I have a feeling that a lot of apps now work worse than before. For example the contacts app starts even slower than it did before (>2 seconds). No matter which browser I use, it lags far more often than before. Don't know what it is, but it's definitely there.
What the f*ck is this bullsh*t Samsung? I'm not a power user and have no "special" apps installed. Stock ROM, no root etc. and still a buttload of problems since JB. On ICS everything was great.
I guess I could reset my phone to factory. But seriously - that's not acceptable. Backing up my texts, messages, photos, app settings etc. is too time consuming and annoying. And what if after resetting the phone the WiFi still doesn't work - am I supposed to use my mobile data to download all those apps (Google Search is like 10 MB, other apps are no little fly either). It adds up (time + money).
That Google Nexus 4 is starting too look really good right about now. But I'd rather keep my Samsung. Although I'm probably NOT gonna buy any Samsung phone again any time soon.
You are just bad luck for been updated with faulty firmware.

I don't know if I'd agree with all the issues you're having, but is have to agree with you on the fact that Sammy jellybean for the s3 is not really that good...I've tried all of them including stock odexed and deodexed, wanam, insertcoin, omega, etc etc... they're all great roms, but the base is still Sammy jellybean, and battery life sucks when compared to ics. Also, app performance is better on ics based Roms. The buttery smoothness also lasts for only some time after boot and gradually the UI status stuttering, as do the launchers, whether touchwiz or third party... probably the reason why I'm still on an ics Rom.

Thanks for the valuable info mate. Is there no alternative for us to use jellybean?? Will AOKP/AOSP or Cyanogen Roms help?? I am on Jellybean base currently. ICS was a lot better

AOSP based Roms are definitely good options to official Sammy jellybean, but the problems are with closed source drivers etc that are not available to AOSP Roms. So stuff like tethering, camera, etc will never be as good as the official firmware...
Best thing is for Sammy to develop a jellybean update with these issues fixed... till then I guess you should stick to AOSP/AOKP for a better jellybean experience.

That's why I have dual boot. Paranoid as primary for performance; smoothness (and only 160 MB to download !! plus google apps), and a Sammy ROM as secondary for tethering when I need it.

Let's wait for a wile... Sammy promised to public some sorces. Will see in just a week what it will be.
Bad side - most good programmers left developing cm10 for sgs3...
So not many who will be able pick up the cm10 flag and rise it again even if Sammy will public sources..
I had the same problem until yesterday, when i decided to factory reset my phone. Used TitaniumBackup and took about 2 hours to restore everything :|
Now it's much much better. I had to restart my phone about 2~3 times a day before. I haven't since resetting.

On the contrary I started loving my phone after jb update and I even dumped aokp for samsung rom
Smooth ui
Faster than ics
Improved camera features
Much more to say
There are one or two glitches here and there but none of them are show stoppers, absolutely happy with jb

I returned to stock rom because it has a better battery life than wanam his. But i love it. I dont have any problems you mentioned. I wish the best for you and I hope you full whipe and flash again. This would propably fix all your problems.
Also to people who are restoring apps with TB, i stopped this method because I am convinced it does more harm to the rom than good

To each his own I guess... but I believe the battery is much worse on jellybean as compared to ics on Sammy Roms...and apps behave much better on ics too.
As far as project butter is concerned, UI smoothness is nowhere near what jellybean promised at release... still stutters badly at times... ics feels more at home on the s3, at least with the current lot of jellybean releases by Sammy

What problems did I mentioned? Lol
And btw how does tb restore affects your rom?
《swagged from aokp》
Me too... Went from great phone to hate phone. JB just brought me more STOP errors. Even gallery now stops 1-2 times a week.
I hate the grey topbar. I have a bug that when i exit an app, i can see the shadows in the icons slowly returning back instead of beeing instant in ICS.
The phone is also slower. Project butter is just not there. It's like samsung took that out...
dissapointed and want to sell the phone
Happened to me when I had my Galaxy Note. Did an ICS OTA update and everything went wrong.
Now, I'm using S3, I am now using custom ROM and happy about it, faster and lighter with no problem at all.

I wasnt referreling to you. I was just as positive as you are
Restoring from TB is just a personal weirdness, I have the idea that pushing all that data into /system sometimes corrupts. I prefer a clean install from Play.
Also i have seen dozensbof people restoring ICS apps and data and complaining the Rom is bad. Thats why I prefer people not too.

Either root and install a custom rom or wipe data and setup from scratch.
Every now and then software can and will be broken by an update, it doesnt matter if its samsung/android, windows, or even ios - updating can go wrong. Go ahead and get a nexus, even though the chance is slim its possible that the same thing happens when the next update is pushed out.
Im not defending samsung at all, obviously it sucks having to wipe data to fix the problem, but in the end it will solve it - as well as rooting and installing a custom rom will.
Whats with the F*kn language btw?
1 . try wanamlite, android revolution hd and checkrim
2- s-memo and stock browser eat battery disable them.
those two should fix most of ur problems if they dont it's a app u installed.
Stock browser? This is the first time I heard that it affects battery life.
Doesn't it give better battery than chrome?
