Hello guys. I want to know if the HTC HD2 will work on the AT&T network without any problems. If i were to unlock the phone do i have to flash the ROM in order to do so or i have to use a website that will unlock it for me?
u are posting in the wrong section but all u have to do is call t mobile if u bought it from them if not then u have to buy the code from a website
so the best way to do it is through online ?
You cant use any other way like flashing a ROM ? Because i want to run it on ATT
Even once you get it unlocked it will still be handicapped with only being able to use Edge and not 3g on AT&T network.
no type of flashing will unlock it only getting the code from t mo or buying one online.
Would Anything bad happen if i put in the SIM unlock code through Android?
Using latest HyperDroid build.
1024 LEO
MrBox
I used to use the sim lock through winmo, when I installed android I didn't have a problem (cant remember if it worked or not in android). Ive removed the lock since, but nothing bad ever happened.

I have a T-Mob HD2 with Android on NAND. It is currently sim locked to T-Mob but I plan on moving to 3 in the next few months. Is it possible to enter the unlock code via Android or would I need to go back to Win Mo, Enter the unlock code and then back to Android?
Thanks

I will be able to answer this soon as I have just ordered my unlock code from T-Mobile. Apparently it could take up to a month for it to arrive though!
It will work fine. There are no limitations on the sim depending on what software you're using.

I thought I remembered someone trying to unlock the phone while in android and it wouldn't stick... it accepted the code but it kept showing as locked. Maybe it was with WP7... I can't remember. I'm getting my unlock code today, but I have wp7 on nand and android on SD, and I doubt we can sim unlock our phones while in sd android, but I might try it while in WP7 and see.
Wait, are we taking about the PHONE unlock code? Ie, phone is locked to T-mobile etc. or the SIM code, ie, put a pin in before you can use the sim.

As in my phone is network locked to T-Mobile and want to use an unlock code so I can use my phone on another network.
Yes, the 8-digit SIM unlock code can be entered through Android. I did it to my wife's phone 2 days ago.

So did you test it by putting a AT&T or whatever sim card in? Where you able to get 3G on a different network? I will be ordering my Sim Unlock code soon and it would be awesome if I didnt have to install winmo
Got my unlock code today. Put an o2 sim card, entered unlock code and worked fine. Tried with a vodafone sim card afterwards and it also worked fine too.

When i asked for an unlock code i got a 15 digit code, (this is form T-Mobile).
Guys,
I hope we talking about network locked mobile devices. ;-)
My hd2 is on android and I get unlock code. But when I put different sim card, everything's work fine except radio, of course (no service). What is procedure to input network unlock code?
If I remembered correctly, when hd2 was on win6.5 and I put different sim, phone asked to unlock code. Now is a big difference.
Any suggestion?
Someone may explain the steps for introduce the unlock code under android? Because with android installed the HD2 dont ask about unlock code when i pu no T-MOB sim card.
not sure why code is not worknig.
I have an HTC HD2 Leo locked by t-mobile. I installed Android on it. I am entering the code to unlock and I am getting back to the same message again. Do I need to install windows back on it again? I get an error saying incorrect password. Maybe my code is not correct. Any clues would help tremendously. If I put a t-mobile sim card in it I do not get the prompt but again no signal since it is not active.
Thanks,
Sophronis
this may sound strange but my unlock code only worked under windows!! So after spending a few hrs I rolled back to windows enter the code, then back to Android and everything worked fine.
Hello all,
I am having trouble with the network unlock (subsidy code) on my WinMo 6.5 Tmobile HTC HD2. I have tried a pay-site solution as I no longer have my TMobile account (moved to Alaska). The site replied that the IMEI number supplied could not be unlocked and that a data connection to a PC might be required.
!QUESTION!:
Who can unlock this phone for me? I have tried. I have danger spl and a custom Energy rom. The IMEI matches on the handset and in software. I would rather pay a forum member through paypal or find out what I need in order to unlock this phone. I have a dual boot android partition installed on the handset as well. Maybe this had something to do with the fact I cannot unlock via traditional methods.
Thanks for any help you can give,
I currently run 100% Android on my HD2 and do not really recall how long ago I booted into WinMo ... now, my HD2 is T-Mobile unit and I believe it is still locked (GSM lock) to T-Mobile. I probably can have T-Mobile send me the code but I have not tried yet.
I have installed HSPL3, custom ROM, and have JDMS 1.62 Ultimate Android on it ... what is the easiest way of GSM unlocking my TMO US HD2?
Note: Next step I plan is probably to get T-Mobile to send me unlock code. Now, is that code going to work even though I have Custom ROM and Android on it?
Thanks ALL!
ya it should work. I bought the code from ebay and entered it into the custom rom, it worked fine and when I booted back into android it was unlocked.
i wanna use my htc hd2 wp7 with other cellphone company how can unlock to use with telcel from mexico?
Was the phone unlocked before you installed wp7 on your device.

I was asking me.. the same question..? if you did not unlock the WM6.5 and you flash android or windows p 7, is it possible to NETWORK unlock your cell? or by changing the OS unlocks ur HD2?
Same Q: I have HD2 (win 6.5) locked on T mobile Europe but flashed Android now. Any suggestions?
Insert a non-t-mobile SIM, reboot your phone, and if a prompt/screen pops up asking to input the unlock number or pin, then that means it is locked. Then, go to ebay and search for the cheapest hd2 code you can find.. and follow the instructions.. lol.. The code should arrive instantly via your e-mail and then input the unlock code and your phone should be unlocked.
