I was asking me.. the same question..? if you did not unlock the WM6.5 and you flash android or windows p 7, is it possible to NETWORK unlock your cell? or by changing the OS unlocks ur HD2?

Same Q: I have HD2 (win 6.5) locked on T mobile Europe but flashed Android now. Any suggestions?

Insert a non-t-mobile SIM, reboot your phone, and if a prompt/screen pops up asking to input the unlock number or pin, then that means it is locked. Then, go to ebay and search for the cheapest hd2 code you can find.. and follow the instructions.. lol.. The code should arrive instantly via your e-mail and then input the unlock code and your phone should be unlocked.

there are two options
1 - contact T Mobile and get an unlock from them
or
2 - buy a code from one of the several online unlocking sites.
There is no 'hack' method of unlocking the hd2.

Thanks

I will be able to answer this soon as I have just ordered my unlock code from T-Mobile. Apparently it could take up to a month for it to arrive though!
It will work fine. There are no limitations on the sim depending on what software you're using.

I thought I remembered someone trying to unlock the phone while in android and it wouldn't stick... it accepted the code but it kept showing as locked. Maybe it was with WP7... I can't remember. I'm getting my unlock code today, but I have wp7 on nand and android on SD, and I doubt we can sim unlock our phones while in sd android, but I might try it while in WP7 and see.
Wait, are we taking about the PHONE unlock code? Ie, phone is locked to T-mobile etc. or the SIM code, ie, put a pin in before you can use the sim.

As in my phone is network locked to T-Mobile and want to use an unlock code so I can use my phone on another network.
Yes, the 8-digit SIM unlock code can be entered through Android. I did it to my wife's phone 2 days ago.

So did you test it by putting a AT&T or whatever sim card in? Where you able to get 3G on a different network? I will be ordering my Sim Unlock code soon and it would be awesome if I didnt have to install winmo
Got my unlock code today. Put an o2 sim card, entered unlock code and worked fine. Tried with a vodafone sim card afterwards and it also worked fine too.

When i asked for an unlock code i got a 15 digit code, (this is form T-Mobile).
Guys,
I hope we talking about network locked mobile devices. ;-)
My hd2 is on android and I get unlock code. But when I put different sim card, everything's work fine except radio, of course (no service). What is procedure to input network unlock code?
If I remembered correctly, when hd2 was on win6.5 and I put different sim, phone asked to unlock code. Now is a big difference.
Any suggestion?
Someone may explain the steps for introduce the unlock code under android? Because with android installed the HD2 dont ask about unlock code when i pu no T-MOB sim card.
not sure why code is not worknig.
I have an HTC HD2 Leo locked by t-mobile. I installed Android on it. I am entering the code to unlock and I am getting back to the same message again. Do I need to install windows back on it again? I get an error saying incorrect password. Maybe my code is not correct. Any clues would help tremendously. If I put a t-mobile sim card in it I do not get the prompt but again no signal since it is not active.
Thanks,
Sophronis
this may sound strange but my unlock code only worked under windows!! So after spending a few hrs I rolled back to windows enter the code, then back to Android and everything worked fine.

[Q]T-Mobile HD2 Network Unlock Code

Hi , i have HD2 with android rom that is locked to T-Mobile USA
i wanted to know if i buy unlock code (20$) and type it in the android rom will it unlock the phone or do i need windows mobile Rom ? because i can not flash windows mobile rom any more due to the volume button is destroyed ( the sticker that clicks is lost / both of them )
can i buy network unlock code and use it in android rom directly ?
thanks
I'm going to say "no, you must use winmo " because 99% of reports are that it doesn't work under android, however there are one or two posts where people claim that yes you can, however I believe they are mistaken.
I just unlocked mine with a free code from t-mobile. I uses android only. Seems no problem. I rebooted several time. It does not ask me Pin any more. Am using typhoon 3.8.1.

[Q] WP 7.5 out of range.

Hello
Yesterday I loaded WP 7.5 Mango. According to different directions, and every time I'm out of range.
What I doing wrong? I use a turbo sim, because the phone has a lock on another carrier.
Before and after returning to the extent it is WM 6.5. Everything works fine.
Maybe someone had a similar problem?

but did your HD2 SIM unlocked or not? did your SIM card same provider as locked HD2?
you must first SIM unlock if you want use other SIM cards, unlock can be done only in WM6.5 and unlock code

My HD2 has a SIM lock, but I use "X-SIM/Turbo-SIM( card to unlock)
On WM 6.5 "X-SIM/Turbo-SIM works perfect bypasses SIM-lock
ok... i think this not work with WP7...

unlock trophy verizon

Hello, i just bought a verizon htc trophy and i live in Peru, does someone knows a website where i could unlock free?
also, i read when i flash the phone to a custom ROM the phone free it selfs?
To carrier unlock it, you can call Verizon and ask them to unlock the SIM for international travel, but no guarantees.
To developer unlock or full unlock (using either WP SDK for the first or the DFT HSPL tool) the Trophy you need to follow the various tutorials out there.

They have a number for peru.
0-800-50010
If that doesn't work, just use the live chat at VerizonWireless.com

To have the sim unlock you have to call verizon. There isn't any other way to unlock it unless you pick up an aftermarket sim, which I can't help you with. (I don't know, nor know if they are legal in the US.) They might be able to unlock it depending on how long the last owner had it on their plan.
Besides, its a good PDA. Flash the Norkser 8858 rom and follow the steps for CAB updates in the WP7 Development and Hacking forum.

That not quite how windows phones work. Flashing a different rom, only flashes the OS, not the stuff that directly interacts with the Hardware, e.g. the Radio driver. There is only three radios for the Verizon Trophy and they are all from Verizon, so there isn't much to do. The Radio is what controls the SIM locking, and no one has tried decompiling it, afaik. I'm afraid that you either have to contact the last owner or call verizon. Not much more I can do.
You can try and see if its been already unlocked by inserting your SIM, but chances are that it will prompt you for an unlock code. You can get that from various sites online and pay, or try Verizon for free.
