While watching, suddenly the screen goes blank, then every action in the media player is delayed (super laggy). When resuming the video, all it shows is a black screen while the audio plays. Takes a while to go back to home screen after pressing the home button, but once in the home screen everything is smooth again.
I have tried killing processes like gallery & media but it does not solve the problem. I have to do a soft reboot of the phone in order to continue watching my video
p.s i have only noticed this on revision3 video mostly because that is the only video i download onto my phone
Has anyone with a Nexus S ICS 4.0.3 expereinceed this?
You can try using an different app from market instead of stock player.
RockPlayer works very well for me.
Is this issue with a single video or every video on the phone?

Video occasionally gets laggy in the HTC Media Player even though it doesn't show lagginess in WMP.
However, because I don't know how to make the video scale properly in WMP (either parts of the video are cut off in full screen, or it's not stretched enough).
Anyone else having this problem? It sometimes goes back to normal after a soft reset, but I can't account for it.
Has anyone else noticed a bug when using the stock video player?
I was watching the demo video, helicopters and when I clicked on the video to bring up the menu in portrait mode the menu drops down but there is serious ghosting/trails. I can't even read the menu.
To test simply go to gallery-video-click the helicopters video and watch in portrait mode for 10 seconds, then click anywhere on the video to bring up menu.
please can you let me know if you also experience this weird ghosting of menu
The one thing I do notice is that the stock video player doesn't display the video playlist in landscape view. That's a new one as all my Galaxy devices up until now used to display the file list in the video player in landscape. Maybe it's something to do with 4.2.2
Yes I've seen the menu bugs too. Also if you use the progress bar to skip ahead or back in the video I can't find a way to get it to disappear again, it stays there unless you flip the phone to the other orientation.
I think this bug came with the new OTA update or was it there before?

This issue is related to the application "Feedly".
I watched a video with the browser of Feedly. I stopped watching it in the middle by pressing the system "back" key, but the video was still playing in the background (I could hear the sound), even if I exited/restarted Feedly. Amazingly, even if I turned off the screen, the video kept playing. It seemed that there is no way to stop the sound of that video, so finally I restarted the phone.
Anyone encountered the same issue?
The webpage/feed I was browsing:
http://www.universetoday.com/103719/how-can-we-stop-an-asteroid/
You can reproduce the problem by add the rss feed to your Feedly reader and play the video of that webpage with the internal browser of Feedly.
With the Chrome browser, after exiting the browser the video won't play in the background.
Android version: 4.2.2

What amazes me is that, in the past I had been looking for a way to play some video on Youtube in the background and didn't found a good solution. Someone said that that is not possible. But now I find that this is indeed possible.
Feedly is most likely the issue, try contacting the developer via email in the Play Store about this.
You can force stop the app in the settings or by pressing the recent key, press and hold Feedly, press "App info" and then press "Force Stop".

I tried a youtube video for the first time yesterday. It pops up in the youtube app, which is annoying, but OK, I guess. I then turned the screen off to listen, and the music stops. It seems that the youtube app only works when the screen is on.
Am I missing something in a setting somewhere, or is this expected behaviour?
It has been like that since Android was first created... I think that it is an upcoming feature with the screen off playback, but not yet.

YouTube is not an audio or video player.
It's an app.
But yeah, that'd be nice.
Youtube will stop any action when the screen is off, its been set that way from the start..
When I'm playing videos using MX Player or sometimes Netflix, I get a black screen but I have audio. When go "back" to the previous menu, there is a glimpse of the video image before it proceeds to the menu.
The only solution I have is to restart the NP. It gets tiresome at times to do this. This is happening to two of my Nexus Players.
I had the same thing, I fixed it by not using MX Player. I switched to Exo player instead.
