This issue is related to the application "Feedly".
I watched a video with the browser of Feedly. I stopped watching it in the middle by pressing the system "back" key, but the video was still playing in the background (I could hear the sound), even if I exited/restarted Feedly. Amazingly, even if I turned off the screen, the video kept playing. It seemed that there is no way to stop the sound of that video, so finally I restarted the phone.
Anyone encountered the same issue?
The webpage/feed I was browsing:

You can reproduce the problem by add the rss feed to your Feedly reader and play the video of that webpage with the internal browser of Feedly.
With the Chrome browser, after exiting the browser the video won't play in the background.
Android version: 4.2.2

What amazes me is that, in the past I had been looking for a way to play some video on Youtube in the background and didn't found a good solution. Someone said that that is not possible. But now I find that this is indeed possible.
Feedly is most likely the issue, try contacting the developer via email in the Play Store about this.
You can force stop the app in the settings or by pressing the recent key, press and hold Feedly, press "App info" and then press "Force Stop".

While watching, suddenly the screen goes blank, then every action in the media player is delayed (super laggy). When resuming the video, all it shows is a black screen while the audio plays. Takes a while to go back to home screen after pressing the home button, but once in the home screen everything is smooth again.
I have tried killing processes like gallery & media but it does not solve the problem. I have to do a soft reboot of the phone in order to continue watching my video
p.s i have only noticed this on revision3 video mostly because that is the only video i download onto my phone
Has anyone with a Nexus S ICS 4.0.3 expereinceed this?
You can try using an different app from market instead of stock player.
RockPlayer works very well for me.
Is this issue with a single video or every video on the phone?

Hey all,
I've noted that the recent iteration of Chrome behaves oddly when hitting on a video link.
For example, if I go to ESPN and hit on the play button, I'd hear the audio part in the video, but no video. The only way to get it to work is to get the link to launch in a new tab in order to select the video player that I want. This never happened before. My defaults are properly set.
Any thoughts on what this could be due to?
Thanks~
in chrome, mines show a pop up of what I want to use play the video. whether I want to use a browser, MXplayer, Stickit mediaplayer, or overscreen browser. it doesn't do it on all videos but I think its the ones not optimized for html5. or if its a flash type.
I noticed that Pluto TV now integrates with the Live Channels app but I don't know the controls for the app.
Is there a way to pause the video while in the app since scrolling through the program guide is very laggy while a video is playing. I also don't know how to stop the video from playing since clicking the back arrow and the home button seem to not do anything.
Unfortunately Google hasn't given us any way to stop playback when using live channels. You can hit the home button on your remote, then it will play in the background; then just go into settings or another app, and it will stop the video.
Since yesterday, I noticed something strange on my note 3 - I can't seem to play 2 videos simultaneously. I tried 2 browser windows, 1 browser window and YouTube, and each time it switches between the video windiws. Is there a setting to enable multiple videos to play simultaneously?
Anyone?
Diceplayer and Youtube.com in Chrome play at the same time.
Diceplayer and Youtube app play at the same time.
Dolphin and Youtube app play at the same time.
All three tested in Multiwindow.
Youtube in a penwindow and Dolphin browser with youtube.com in the main view works. Minimizing the pen window stops the playback.
Chrome with Youtube.com in a penwindow and Youtube app in the main view works. Minimizing penwindow does not stop playback.
The Youtube app does not support background playback. (It's an iOS port, which is infinitely ironic since Google owns both Youtube and Android.)
In Multiwindow both apps are running in the foreground, but if you open two apps normally, only one is in the foreground. In Pen window both apps run in the foreground, unless you minimize the penwindow.
VLC has a Play Videos In Background setting. So does Diceplayer. (Which I did not have enabled during the test in Multiwindow)Those two could play two local videos simultaneously, as well.
Has anyone had any problems with these apps working?
I have a random problem where something happens and I can't get these apps to work.
Netflix - just stays on the loading screen when the logo.I've seen the attached message once appear from the Netflix app.
Prime video - app just has the loading circle
Google Movies - app loads ok and you can navigate around but can't play a movie. Click play and a blank screen shows.
The only thing which fixes this is a phone restart. I have a unlocked UK S8 on the stock firmware.
I have spoken to Samsung support on Twitter but basically they recommended a soft reset which doesn't seem to fix it long term.
