Hi
During more than year of my "android on hd2 experience" I've had no problems at all. To be honest i became quite handy on this field.
recently I was using two roms daily HyperDroid-CM7 and testing NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich Beta.
on NexusHD2 rom i install Data2SDInstaller.
and my problem started when I wanted to go back to HyperDroid.
boot animation stuck, of course i tried clk / magdlr different partition sizes always task29...without any effects. Now I tried NexusHD2 ICS 4.0.3 CM9 V1.0 , finally went through boot animation, when i saw Setup Wizard the messages appear immediately: "Unfortunetly, the process ....... has stopped" and when I click OK appears next and the next message , such as contacts, Email, calendar, etc. i thing all of the possible .. later message: Setup Wizard not responding.
And it happens on magdlr/300/5
I've read already about bad NAND blocks, and in recovery.log I did not detect any of them
I tried to run MTTY but I have a problem with drivers win7x64: - /
Does anyone know what's wrong with my HD2 and how to solve it.
you remembered to wipe the sd-ext partition and .android folder (cwm - wipe data / factory reset) right?
there are folders on both sd-ext and on the fat32 partition that will screw with new installs.

Like he said, you need to wipe your sd card, ext and fat32. Both parts. This is majorly important since you used Apps 2SD!!
Another thing, I think your system size is way off. 200/5 for cLK if not 180/5 and for magldr probably like 200/44 but at least 10mb of cache..
I'm not too sure if this will help or not but this is my experience.
I have been on these forums for a while and using Hyperdroid for quite some time now as well. The reason why I do not have any posts on this account is because I switched over just today, my old account was imarte068.
When trying to update my Hyperdroid the other day through magdlr I encountered an issue. No matter the partition size or sd-card, it always managed to get stuck on boot. I got frustrated and attempted to re-flash countless times. After many attempts I gave up and just used an MIUI rom.
Several days later I devoted myself to solving the issue. After about an hour or so of trial and error I fixed it. I simply re-flashed the kernel after the installation of the rom. I am using magdlr therefore I do not know if the process will be the same for clk.
Hope I could be of help.
I thought it was a sdcard and i delete all partition and make it new.
I do always full wipe and dalvic...

Try re-flashing the kernel as I said in the post above.
Link to kernel here.
Hope I could be of help.
This may spur some argument, but in my experience task 29 is the key if you're having problems. many people say wipe with cwm the system boot davlik cache, etc but in my testing when I'm having a problem and need to solve it task 29 has been the answer almost everytime. Partition size is huge as well. Another thing if you were using apps2 SD on ics it was bugged. Without formatting your SD it is possible that it could bug your system.

Im using 220 with 5mb cache. ICS running smooth without any problems. And no need to fully wipe sdcard. Would be stupid to delete the whole card just for flashing a new rom hehe. Its enough to wipe the (dalvik) cache and sd-ext partition via CWM.
For data2sd use the 'how to' from post #207 and the flashable file from post #174 in tytungs ics cm9 v1 thread. I think it removes old app2sd or data2sd scripts. Worked without any formatting of my sdcard.. works like a charm.
Btw.. ever tried to fix permissions? First thing you should try if you get FC.
Just do (re)install the rom like the guy in post #207 described but with the file from #174 (40ad2sdx-a2Recovery.zip)
And im using my hd2 now for more then one year. NEVER used task29.

Edit: btw for problems with your Usb? Driver on win7 machines try to install new version of WMDC (windows mobile device center)

As I said people will disagree. I will say that in most cases you're right though, wiping the davlik cache is enough. I am just saying from my personal experience there are sometimes when it isn't (at least on my phone). I'm not trying to start an argument, I just want to help him.

big thanks mates for advice.
So far I haven't had time for it but for sure tomorrow or on the weekend, I will deal with this and I will let you know how it goes.
In brief I run ICS all fine, but HyperDroid not starting.
Here is how i try:
________
Ok I was using WP7 and whats I made:
SD card: I delete all partition, I make only one Fat32 than in CWM I made ext partition.
Task29 > Clk 200/5 > recovery > install HyperDroid-CM7-v5.7.0 > And here phone stuck before boot animation, only white android robo > then as flamgodian advice I install kernel thins. > Same without boot animation.
Second try
Task29>clk 220/5>recovery>wipe(all possible)>install HyperDroid-CM7-v5.7.0>same robo>fix permision> install kernel this> I saw robo for 10s and phone self reboot after reboot > stuck :/
I have not seen even the boot animation.
Task29>clk 220/5>recovery>wipe(all possible)>install NexusHD2-ICS-CM9>Kernel>
He goes
__
I make like redplate(Big Thanks) write with installation 40ad2sdx, and everything runs great.
I will stay with ICS but it is strange why my phone doesn't like HyperDroid Rom.
And from here I would like to thank you all for advice.

Did you qlso install clockworkmod with the correct partition size? If your partition is to small for the rom image boot loops are caused.

Assuming you have the right partition size go to clockwork cleardata/factoryreset then clear cache the go to advanced and clear dalvic rhen reboot

you have partitioned your sd,not nand. i think your rom needs 5-150-5 nand partition. unrar attached file.connect phone to pc.in mgldr go to usb flasher- see usb flasher.....usb-right click on daf-run as administrator-after it finishes flash your rom using mgldr-ad recovery-install zip from sd-choose zip from sd-choose your rom.zip.after it finishes reboot.
(save this recovery folder in pc.when you need a different size of nand partition open flash.cfg with notepad and arrange it according to your needs.)

it s normal that nand boot fails, because you didnt flash your rom.zip from sd yet. nand partitioning arranges your phone's internal memory according to the need s of roms. if you use a rom with same nand partition size (e.g. miui roms or cm7 roms but not sense roms) you will not apply partition again, just wipe data/factory reset in ad recovery menu and flash the rom.

How about a fresh install?
That guy had bootloops, maybe the same error? anyway, Follow this post by me ,, it is a full & complete step by step on how to install the ROM you wanted (HyperGBX).
Most importantly, Swap Step 8 with your MAGLDR ROM from pongster's thread (HyperGBX)

NAND Partition 250MB - SD-EXT4 2GB what do these mean, an do i need em?
Where did you find these information? where did you find NAND partition 250 .... etc ?
Maybe you have bad blocks (which I hope not, because data cannot be written on them, resulting in some missing system files, thus giving you bootloops).

Hello everybody
I have to post here because I can't in NAND development...
This is a general question, but I post the title of the Bliss sense 3.5 rom because I actually have this...
This is a great rom , but I have 2 problems with my EU 512mb HD2...
The first, and very important, is the room left... Looking with Apps2sdgui those are my general info:
internal memory free(total): 25mb(206mb)
sd-ext free(total): 1392mb(1830mb)
cache free(total): 25mb(206mb)
So, what can I exactly delete using root explorer? Can you explain me please what exactly apps2sdgui does? I haven't understood its function, because my internal memory is full though Apps2sdgui says "apps are on SD"...
The second is the available ram... I have max 60/70mb free, according to Apps2sdgui... Sometimes, when switch from an app to another, I see the white screen with the htc green word in the middle for a 10-15 seconds... What can I do to make my phone faster and more fluid?
You do not have to delete anything using root explorer, and your apps seems to be in your SD card's EXT partition. Your cache seems poetry high though- not much you can do without backing up, repartitioning and restoring.
The free memory seems ok, though not great. Sense 3.5 builds are still being developed and are not stable yet. The HTC logo that flashes by is your Android rebooting.
If you prefer stability, choose an AOSP or CM7 build...
Swyped from my HTC HD2 running CM7 (Gingerbread 2.3.5)

Stuck on Quitely briliant screen
Hi
I have tried flashing this rom through CLW and everything goes well until the device reboots. it gets stuck on the Quietly brilliant screen. I left it run for 30 minutes with no luck of actually booting the system.
I have noticed when i pull my battery out and mount the device nothing is created on the SD card (no folders or files).
I have a 3 GB SD card and I have partitioned it through AD recovery with 2GB and 0 swap EXT partition.
I flashed MYUI again since i was using it before but i would really like to try your Sense Rom on my HD2 (T-Mobile).
Am I missing something? I have to say that I also tried using other Sense Roms and got the same problem. stuck on the HTC green screen or the Quietly brilliant screen and my system never loads!
Thanks for you help and keep up the good work.

Hey,

If CWR partition is needed for this rom how do u do that?
Thanks

Because this ROM very big so it need use many NAND space and SD-EXT Partition to store sytem and app.
App was moved to EXT partition but Dalvik cache still on NAND so you can move Dalvik cache to EXT to save more Internal memory (when you move Dalvik to EXT, you will have about 150-200 Mb free on NAND)

If you already have magldr, this is what you have to do:
1. flash recovery. this is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?f81pamq6fbjmtw5
(I've found this link here in the forum)
download it, then you have to modify this file: flash.cfg
you have to open it with notepad, but put an eye on NOT change permanently the extension ( it's .cfg, have to be .cfg)
once you opened it, you have to modify like that:
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery-raw.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 440M
cache ya 5M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
-my english is not very good, if you don't understand PLEASE tell me and I'll explain it again-
save the changes, then go to magldr menu, connect phone to pc, search in your phone in magldr menu "usb flasher", run DAF.exe in recovery folder on pc, follow the guide. Your phone will reboot and go to magldr menu.
Choose "ad recovery".
2.wipe full data, and dalvik cache
3. flash rom: in ad recovery, choose "install zip from sd card", and select your rom
4. reboot
If someting goes wrong, please tell me

You're welcome ( is this the way to say this?)
Yes of course, you can always change rom
If you want to change to miui, cm7 and so on, you only have to change cwr version to v3.0.2.5 or else ( it's written in rom thread )...
if you want to change recovery partition, you only have to use notepad again and run daf.exe again... I think it's quite simple...
Please tell me the result

Just tried it. It looks amazing and exactly as I expected.
Only one thing that I don't like is that it is very choppy! as in when u click on something it takes few seconds to load or when u switch screens there is a lag or a drag as if there is not enough memory to run the command.
Anyway we can tweak the settings of the recovery to make it faster?
thanks again for all your help

Yes, I experience it too... If you read my whole thread, I asked for some solution, but I think there aren't... Sense-based roms are slowlier than non-sense, hd2's hardware is perhaps a bit too old, but this is only my opinion... Have you read the thread in Nand development? I've tried some sense 3.0 rom, but I can say with no doubt this is the fastest...
This is the 1.1 release, next update will probably be better in speed... And I hope in camera and bluetooth fix as soon as possible... I'm pretty satisfied, for maximum sense experience, I think we should buy sensation, evo or other younger htc
You can try deleting some apps, if you don't use them, and look at task manager, it helps you stopping background apps, that can free ram memory...
Which kernel do you use? Most of people wrote in rom thread in nand development that jw-tytung is faster, and I confirm... All these things will help you, this is my opinion...
Hey there,
i'm using the HTC Bliss Rom for 2 days now and i think it's really great, but i have one problem, and it is significant. Everytime the display goes in standby-mode the connection gets lost. Even when i call somebody and put the phone to my ear, the connection breaks up immediately when the display turns itself off.
I really want to keep this rom, so please can somebody help me
Hi.
I have now tried a variety of "Sense 3.0" roms found under development. None of them boot. I can already see that I am not alone, but I can't seem to find a final "fix" or any identification to what the problem might be, other than the usual partitioning and preparation issues. When none of those apply I can't seem to move forward.
Please give us more information. Specifically, what phone u have (Leo or Tmous) , what SD card u have, what partition u used. Also need the exact steps u went through in flashing.

I've got the same problem, installing a rom with sense 3.0 or 3.5 doesn't get booted.
I've got a EU leo, with a 4gb kingston sdcard.
it would be nice to install the Runnymede Sense 3.5 android 2.3.5 v1.2 OC daemon & hierOS kernel rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275119
I tried this, i installed many roms but all sense 3.0 and 3.5 hangs at bootup.
I used :
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery_leo.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 220M
cache ya 5M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
with the daf.exe
Then i installed wipe_it.zip with magdlr
Reboot
Then i installed the runnymede rom.
It says install completed
It reboots automatically
When it starts i get the blue droid and nothing more.....
When i reinstall another rom with sense 2.3, it functions normal
I tried it on another HD2 leo of a friend of mine and i get the same results sadly enough.
Would be great to have some suggestions.....(serious ones, i now i can go out and buy a sensation)
It's a EU (Norwegian) HD2 with a 2GB SanDisk microSD. Do not know details about the card. Ripped it out of an Ericsson X10 Mini Pro I got laying around for quickly testing these new tempting roms.
Now, let's see, this is my previous effort to make a clean install:
- Task 29
- Hard reset from MagLdr
- Wipe cache, Dalvik and battery cache from CWM.
- Partition and format 1Gb ext from CWM.
- Ran corresponding recovery from MagLdr USB flasher
- Uploaded zip with CWM usb mounter
- Ran installer zip
It starts booting but gets stuck at the htc logo. All other roms boots nicely. I am suspecting the memory card size but only on a hunch.

I've got the same problem, installing a rom with sense 3.0 or 3.5 doesn't get booted.
I've got a EU leo, with a 4gb kingston sdcard.
it would be nice to install the Runnymede Sense 3.5 android 2.3.5 v1.2 OC daemon & hierOS kernel rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275119
I tried this, i installed many roms but all sense 3.0 and 3.5 hangs at bootup.
I used :
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery_leo.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 220M
cache ya 5M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
with the daf.exe
Then i installed wipe_it.zip with magdlr
Reboot
Then i installed the runnymede rom.
It says install completed
It reboots automatically

Heestp, did you partition your sd card first? You need an ext partition (say either 1gb or 2gb) for the rom to load. Remember to back up any data on your card first, as partitioning it wipes all data from the card.
You can use cwm or the hd2 nand toolkit to do this.
Everything else you've done sounds ok.

Hmmm... I guess it could be the size of the card (perhaps too small?)
The other thing to check would be the size of the cwm partitions. E.g. for the dansta runnymede roms you need 5/220/5.

Samday, It worked man.
Thanx i made a 1gb partition and it worked as a charm.
Cheers!!
Thanks samday. I'll stick my 8Gb back later, flash it again and post the results here. It think it's already set up with a 2Gb ext so we'll see.

I'll be interested to know if it is the card. I note that on his Runnymede thread, Dansta mentioned that for a 1GB partition you need at least a 4GB card. Tried to google this but couldn't find any info on it. But he may well be right....

Glad you got it working!
Holy smokes, I think it worked!! I stuck my sd in a usb adaptor an did a repartitioning through the disk utility in Gnome. Partitioned a 2 gb ext at the end and installed the rom over again with all the clearing and formatting needed.
It was the sdcard total size.. or just the sd-ext..
Now running Team bluedroid RunnyMede.. I can hibernate my phone.. gigglez.. :-D On my third reboot now and looking good.
edit: Sorry samday, I totally missed out on the fact that this was documented in the dev thread. My bad. RTFM right? :-D

Ok, 2 possible probs I can think of :
1) cwm partition should be 5/175/5 (NOT 165 as you have). I'm assuming you're using the EU version on a 512 Leo?
2) your description of your SD card partition is confusing. Usually you have 1 or 2 gb ext, & the rest is fat32. Yours seems to be the other way round.... If your ext is really 7gb, it may be too large & unstable (so I've been told) .
Anyway, try changing the recovery first & let us know how it goes.

Someone with the same problem???
I thought I had this problem (stuck at boot screen), but now it's working.....first boot TAKE LONG LONG LONG time.....at least 10 minutes to start.....
Now it's working with 1GB EXT partition.....
Hi I'm having the same problem with TBD runnymede 3.5.
It won't boot it just keeps at the TBD boot screen I have tried both 1gb ext partition and 2 gb with 0 swap. I have flashed it crazy untill now. Idk maybe i'm forgetting something... Why can't i find a manual
I am using magdlr and cwm to get it working but got no where so far.
First i flash, then i partition then i put the rom on the fat32 partition using a sd card reader. Then I install the rom.
SORRY FOR THE WRONG TITLE!!! I GOT THAT ROM INSTALLED ON MY SD CARD!!!
ON MY NAND I GOT WINDOWS PHONE 8
Hey guys I got a SD EXT Rom..
[ROM][720p] NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.2 [NativeSD]
Well and today I saw that there's a 1.3a...
I want to update my HD2 But actually I don't know how to do that...
First of all I need to keep all my Apps , Pictures and Settings..
I need to Download that ROM and Install IT like I did on my old rom too?
Do I need to Full Wipe my Phone before? What are the steps -.-?
Or Can I go to 4EXT Recovery.. And just select.. install zip from SD Card.. without wipe the whole Phone + SD Card before?
I read that I'm able to do that IF it's the SAME Rom ..This procedure will just overwrite the old Rom with the new one... without wipeing or losing any apps or settings or personal data
regards
click edit on your first post, then click 'go advanced', , it will let you change the title of the thread.
No need to wipe, just flash over the old one. However, be aware that the partition size could have changed (particularly with NexusHD2) and if it has increased you'll have to flash the new partition first. Just to be sure, always backup in titanium backup or CWM first.

he's using nativesd so no partition stuff needed,
however never having done an update of a nativesd rom myself, i can't comment on whether 4ext will try and install the update as a new nativesd installation, or over the top of the old one (since you can have many roms, so i assume there must be a way to tell it to flash to a current nativeSD rather than as a new rom, , i dunno, which is why i didn't comment first time )
Neither have I actually :') @OP, ignore the partition thing However, I think in aroma installer it gives you an option to choose which type of installation you want so make sure to choose NativeSD. As I said earlier, backup before doing this. I've searched a little and I'm reasonably sure the update process is to install just as you would install a new ROM.
FWIW, I just upgraded my NativeSD installation of NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10 from v1.2 to v1.3a by just installing the new zip file "over" the old installation. The install was just like a new install, I only selected to wipe the Dalvik cache (I don't know if that was necessary). On first boot, Android did it's "optimizing apps" thing, then started. Everything looks normal, and according to the NativeSDMultiBoot app, there is only one NexusHD2-JellyBean ROM. A quick check with File Explorer confirms this.
This thread was useful to me - thanks!
Happy to help, i normally overwrite without wiping dalvik, and only wipe it if it doesn't boot.
Hi
I recently installed a Sense 3.x ROM from the Sensation XL Android 2.3.5 and I got only 9MB of free space. I have an initrd-patcher for ICS and JB, but I doubt that it will work on older versions of android.
Is there a way to make android 2.3.5 use the EXT4 partition on the SD-card?
Yes, you have to flash an a2sd or DataOnExt script after first boot/flashing the rom immediately. Of course, while having an ext partition created beforehand.

Thanks for the reply. Can you recommend a good script for doing this?
I'd suggest this one, but there's a whole lot of other ones. So if this one doesn't work well or you don't like it, don't come here asking for another one. Instead, go out there and look for the one that you like.

and just a little clue to help out a little bit
its in the second post of the thread that Marvlesz link to
I used initrd_patcher_v2 on Gingerbread 2.3.7 and it's worked fine. So it should work on GB 2.3.5 as well. Remember to make an EXT4 partition on your SD before any installation, via recovery, and remove any script like a2sd from zip ROM.

I tried to search for initrd_patcher_v2 and found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36049396
I tried running it on my system, but freezes up just before boot-animation.
I use the SENSATION XL ROM V 3.0 STOCK from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316632&highlight=sensation+all+in+one
I can't seem to find any a2sd-scripts in the ROM zip, but there's a sd-ext folder inside the ZIP.

Sv: Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card
I tried from a fresh install, before booting the first time, and also from an aleady configured installation.

You don't understand, I mean can you format you phone and install this rom again with my advices?
Did you made an EXT4 partition of 1GB or more, with Mini Tool (free), on your sd BEFORE fresh installation of this ROM?
I checked your ROM and the script (apps2sd) is already in that ROM so you probably make a wrong Installation.
Sv: Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card
I do understand what you say. I made a task29, clk repartition and recovery from hd2toolkit. Under installation the installer asks if I have 1024mb us model or 512mb EU version. I selected the EU version, as this is the one I have. The only question it asks me is if I have magldr or clk.
After that it returns to clk recovery and I press reboot now. I have created the ext4 partition before I even tried installing android the very first time.
If you want, I can perform a new installation with a video recording to document the process

Do not use CLK or HD2toolkit this time.
I will recommend to do in this way, before touch your phone format your SD with GUIFORMAT (look here on XDA for it) in FAT32 normal mode (no quick), after format the SD use Mini Tool and make a ext4 partition of 2gb (2048mb) at the end of the SD, so when you look at the partition the ext partition have to be at the right side of you. Put inside the SD the zip of Sensation XL 3.0 only, do not do anything else with your sd.
Format your Phone with Task29, reboot in Bootloader,
Flash MAGLDR 1.13 for HD2,
From MAGLDR 1.13 via USB Flasher flash the Recovery Touch Beta 8, (I provided you the Recovery ready for you, unzip and flash)
Reboot in MAGLDR,
put the SD into the Phone,
run Recovery,
Do a wipe data and wipe cache partition and wipe dalvick cache,
Install from sd the zip via recovery,
In Aroma do not select any option if you don't know anything about it, the installation will recognize the EXT4 partition automatically and you ready to GO, GO, GO.
Let me know.
