Flash successfull, logo stays at boot( Update) SOLVED - Omnia 7 General

Finally Sammy came through....after tens of calls to Samsung, got the main-board replaced within warranty. It seems that the NAND eventually dies for each and every device, I was told. The downside is that they replaced it with a 8Gb, it was 16Gigs.
Anyway, is it just me or anyone noticed that original Focus with the SD slot is waaayyyyy faster than OMNIA7 when it comes to updating trough Zune?
I am having the freaking time of my life when I am near smashing an Omnia 7
Trying to help a friend ( I had a lot of Focuses but no Omnia so far):
-device was on an boot loop- no downoad mode, no nada, just the Omnia7 logo flashingon screen
- volume up+ camera+ POWER PUT IT IN DOWNLOAD MODE - it never said download mode on screen but the WP7 flash tool showed a connection under port 14
- flashed the files from I8700ORAJID flash succesfull STILL at boot logo, now it just stays there doesn't flash
- I can put is successfully and properly in download mode - yellow triangle and so on.

I think there's no Rom for this device....

Memory size doesn't matter on the ROM, they fit both 8 and 16GB. If i where you I would flash it with stock ROM and deliver it to a Samsung repair center. They should fix it for free.

This is why my friend came to me, he couldn't find the invoice ( actually it was a wedding gift) we still got the warrantycard but Sammy wants a proof of purchase...
Anyway, the whole thing is weird ... some Roms flash and some don't- I guess it depends on the wp7 flasher version also...
At one time the whole system booted like in updating mode ( PC--->Phone do not disconect) but it got stuck...
Is there anyway to trace what's the version of this phone by IMEI?
The box only says gt-i8700 and no branding at all...
Yep, it seems I need to find the right combo in order for this to work : right eboot+right PDA+ right csc

I'm sorry, cant help you with the flashing.
I would go to another service center, they should help you if you ask them. The model has only been on the market for a year, so it is most likely within warranty, and they can check that from the serial number, they don't need proof of purchase, if they say so they are just being dicks..

When I called up Samsung warranty they just told me to take it into a local centre. I rang the centre up and they said i just needed to drop it off with them...

I did call up the warranty center...they transferred me to the service center...I explained them that it was a wedding gift and it's more likely we're not gonna find the invoice- I mentioned the phone is a late 2010 model and it's covered under the 24 months EU warranty- but they said that without an invoice there's nothing they can do except repair it for money.

Update1
Samsung Austria is acting like dicks, they keep on asking about invoice/purchase proof in order to take it. They don't seem to care that, actually, there is no Omnia7 out-of-warranty yet ( due to the fact that it has a 24 months warranty and most of them were sold on early 2011).
Man, they know it's a common failure and they keep repeating the same answer.
Does anybody know how if there's a European Samsung customer service where I can ask about this issue?

I would contact Samsung on Facebook or Twitter, they seem to respond better there since it's out in the open.

any progress with this?? i have the exact same issues and cant get warranty repair.

Brick i917 1.3 while flashing MAGLDR

hi to all!
phone: samsung focus 1,3 and original ATT rom (3.jpg)
i've tried to flash MAGLDR and then mi7. I wait MAGLDR (DFT_MLI_SAM1) istalling more then 15 min, but there was no progress, so i unpluged usb from PC. Now i can't turn it on, it's black sreen, but when i connect phone to USB, i can see samsung modem in Device Manager.
than i try to install AT&T and ROGERS original rom's, but i've got errors in WP7 Downloader Ver 7.21 (1.jpg) and WP7_Downloader_Ver_7.05 (2.jpg)
What can i do with it?
sorry for english and thank you)
Hi taitchi,
I had the exact same issue. Pulled out usb while magldr installation. There was no vibration when pressed power and even screen was off on mine. I put the phone in download mode by pressing up, camera and power. Phone did not show any life but still computer detected it. (Use different usb or cable or in my case different computer.)
Reflash magldr first. You will be good to go again. (flashing stock failed for me.)

Uninstall Recently-Installed Apps
You’ve booted your phone up in Safe Mode, that’s the first step to fix stuck up Galaxy S4. Now recall apps you recently installed, or the ones you installed prior to this problem. While Safe Mode doesn’t run third-party applications, you can still get rid of them.
From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap More tab and choose Application Manager.
Swipe left to choose All tab.
Now find apps you want to uninstall. Note that you can uninstall one app at a time.
After you’ve uninstalled apps you think were causing the problem, try to reboot normally to see if the phone boots up this time.

So your phone won't boot at all? It's not really clear to me.
If all the thing that you mention fail. Have you tried to use re-partition in Odin?
You can use that option but you have to know that the flashing will succeed. If you can flash the same firmware without re-partition, then you can try the same firmware with re-partition.
So load up your firmware, try if the flashing succeeds. Then load the same firmware with re-partition and a .pit file.

Hmm, so that did not solve it.
Can you try to flash a prerooted stock rom from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824
Then after you flashed it, flash a custom recovery, for example Philz. Then try to wipe and flash a custom rom.

Two commemts:
1) you are trying to flash a 4.2.2 rom, so we assume you were in a 4.2.2 rom previously and you still have not 4.3 bootloader. If you had a 4.3 rom previously, you can only flash 4.3 roms.
2) i9500 can be flashed by both odin 3.07 and 3.09; i9505 can only be flashed by odin 3.09. If you use a prior versikn, the flashing process could get incomplete.

So do you have a s8 or 9 either way it sounds like your flashing older firmware than on the device. Hence that error. Try finding version 3 bootloader of your firmware

I have been fiddling with an ATT S8 for days, switch to TMB + upgrade to 8.0 at the same time. I've learned a TON because of everyone here and I've made my own mistakes.
I was running into fused and fails and this seemingly simple but overlooked information really solved my issue and helped me proceed to the final stages. You are amazing, thank you.
BTW A little tip for everyone... Unlock your SIM BEFORE you flash other roms, firmware or try changing carriers... If you don't, you may have to go back to the original carrier Firmware before their SIM Unlock code will work.
