Help me for installing android.on my hd2 tmobile

hey guys
my friend has HTC HD2 of T-mobile and he want to use android
his bootloder is 2.12 or 2.13(i am not sure)
and Energy Rom (which version i dont know)..
i have downloaded the "Mattcfroyo 1.5 Android 2.2 with sense"
i just want to sure that can i directly copy past the mattcfroyo into sd card and try to boot into android
or i need to flash spl and Rom again??
will android works on energy rom?? and 2.12 or 2.13 bootloder(what every it is i am not sure)..
or i try to boot directly and if something goes wrong than my phone will bricked or not (or i can again boot into windows by removing battery and insert it again)..
i am new in this field..please guild me here what to do..can i try directly to boot into android with my 2.12 and energy rom? or not

If your running an energy rom just copy the android folder to your memory card and go.
Its begun. TMobile is starting to enforce tethering plans. I know you werent tethering but its got something to do with that.

so according to you..i can directly copy past android folder to root of sd and start the android ..????
if there is problem of booting android (if it hang ) at that time if i remove battery and insert it again than can i boot into windows again???
will android work on spl 2.12?

No one reads...I swear they don't. YES, copy the folder to the root of your SD card, YES if you don't like Android or it funks up just soft-reset and YES it works with ANY SPL.

[Q] [problem] Android wont install

I have a problem with Android installation, the 1st things is CLRCAD wont launch, and when i start Haret, it shows the black screen (which is normal) then it take a while and finaly just reboot the phone into Windows OS,
to make it clear,
I searched the forum before posting
I tried many android version, and it's all the time the same problem,
I was using android on my phone before
I formated the SDcard
My phone is flashed, and I'm using Enery ROM
if any solution, please help,

clrcad is an executable that won't actually launch anything, you just run it and then move on to haret.
you reformatted the card and searched, so that's good, but starting a thread definitely isn't the right way. ask in the Q&A or in a relevant thread would keep the place clutter-free.
anyways, you have the Android folder on the root of the sd card? the instructions for each build will be clearer, but most follow this rule. have you also tried another sd card, just in case?

yes i have the android folder on the root of my card,
yes i tried an other card
yes i do follow instructions all the time

hopefully someone else will reply then. i'm also using an energy rom, and i just hit clrcad and then haret and i end up booting into android after the initial setup time.

what is your radio version?
some radio version dun work with android. my radio was x.xx.51.xx and droid won't install.
flashed to x.xx.50.xx_x and droid loaded like a charm.
btw,i also loaded energy rom,then did the things you did.only found out that my radio was the problem.flashed that and now on mdj's droid clean...
the only thing now is droid on nand...then its blissssssssssssssssssssss

i also have .50 for the rado version and i tried many ROMs but no luck, i also reflashed my phone

have you tried doing a task29? if you have one of the SD card adapters for the microSD you can plug it direct into your computer and use windows to do the FAT32 format (not just FAT, make sure its FAT32) and reflash your preferred radio and rom combo for winmo. then drop on a fresh copy of android and run it. (i recommend redownloading your favorite build as well)

Check you RAM in WM. If it's 320mb, you can't run Android for now...

all done but still the same problem, task29, update radio, update ROM, flash,

what is the model of your fone?
this should have been the first question i should have asked.
i know i assumed you have a htc leo since you posted here but i just want to make sure.
and give us details.as much as you can.

I am running my HD2 on the stock ROM: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe with SPL 3.03 (Stock, not HSPL). I read carefully instructions, and followed all steps, I am not going to describe them, used following Android build [30.11.2010] MDJ FroYo HD v. 4.0 [Kernel: MDJ S7.3HD].
After Haret.exe HD2 reseted, and there was only white screen with HTC logo quite a while. I soft reseted the phone, and after that reset almost all programs are unable to start, with following message: "The file ‘cecmd’cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found". It does not mean where are they installed, SD card or Phone storage. But not all of them, e.g. Opera 10 still runs. It also refuses to install new programs, installation process immediately ends, with "Installation was unsuccessful" ((
I digged the forum, and somewhere it was proposed to change registry value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies DWord = 0000101a - Change value from 0 to 1
But I can not do so: I can not run the registry editor, which I have on my HD2 (Total Commander), I can not install new, or install a tweak, and also when trying to edit registry from my PC through activesync connection with CE Registry Editor and Mobile registry editor it returns with error "access denied".
I do not want to make hard reset. I think there should be a solution, other than HR or flashing new cooked ROM.

I found the solution Special THANKS to JZ SmartMort
Following simple steps:
1) Download following file: http://www.internet-tools.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/sda_unlock.zip
From archive we need only SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe
It allows Registry to be edited from PC.
Run it with working Activesync connection
2) Download Mobile Registry Editor: http://www.zipsoft.ru/catalog/mobile_registry_editor-v1_11.html
Also run with working Activesync connection
3) and modify the following keys to the values listed.
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101b","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001005","4 0")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101a","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001001","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001017","2 4")
It perfectly worked with HD2, but I guess it should work with all WM devices.

There one thing you can do to run Android on your HD2. yes, I have an HD2 too and currently T-Mobile. 8 month experience with it.
I noticed your Radio is 2.08. There is a latest version which is 2.15.50.14. If you flash your radio, it might going to work. Try it though.

i have spend many hours reading and still no closer to what i need is it gingerbread 2.3 , froyo which is the best one to use and help getting the right u.k radio
what software and radio should my phone be??/
i have took a look at the guide on here and dont have a clue where to start as im not to good stuff like this and dont want to brick my phone.
is there a video guide around someone could send me a link to
any help would be great sorry for the silly questions
i know my way around a pc and im willing to have ago.

first check the SD builds forum - easier as no flashing required, then pick one (e.g. ACA my personal favorite), read the installation instructions (usually just create Android folder on your SD card, then copy the build there), then run using any file manager clrcad.exe and haret.exe which are the android folder, wait for 10-30 minutes until 1st boot is finished, and done

links are marked by brownish font by default, check my previous post,
as for SPL, HSPL etc., you don't need to bother as long as you run Android from SD, that's the beauty of SD builds, enjoy full functionality of android, without the hassle and risk of bricking your device
some general FAQs here and here, but if you want to start fast, you can read those later, installing an SD build is safe

That SPL and radio version are fine, just download the ROM, extract it, click on CLRCD, then HARET, then you're running Android.
And ACA is by far the best ROM you're going to find

just ran clrcad, then haret, and its sat on a gray screen thats say american andriod been like this for 10mins any clue's on what its doing???

first boot can take up to 20-30 minutes, as the data file (default = 2GB) is created, if nothing happens after that time, remove the battery (fastest way of resetting the device) and try again

lol no need for 2, I use 1gb and lots of big apps and still have 400 free.
but yeah, ACA is the best ROM for your money, even better than any NAND rom I've used

what's more to know for the start?
- no need to reinstall from now on, it's just that for now your device will always restart to WinMo, however: find yourself so called "android loader" to automate android loading, there's few of those to choose from, e.g. Android Loader v6.0
- connect android with your google account so your contacts and emails are synced (Settings / Accounts etc...)
- install Battery Monitor Widget, so you always know how much mA your device uses and how much battery is left,
- also search xda for tips on conserving battery power (e.g. disable 3G if not needed, switch off GPS, tweak backlight autobrightness in CM Settings etc.)
- be aware that for now the USB file transfer does not work, to copy files to your HD2 use WinMo or Card Reader or File Expert
- backup often: 1. invest in Titanium Backup, 2. from time to time copy data.img to your PC
- browse through the ACA FAQ and thread (I know it may be hard to read all 14995 messages at once)

All apps are installed on your card, the whole idea of an SD build is that WinMo still sits in ROM, while Android basically consists of two files (sitting in the SD\Android folder) which are mounted at the start: system.ext2 (all system files and apps) and data.img (all user apps and settings). From user point of view you won't notice the difference. Additionally, once you run out of space in your data.img, you can always resize it, there are tools for that, but lets put it aside for now

all links are in my previous post, click on the brown text "Android Loader v6.0" to open,
installation is standard for WinMo: while in Windows Mobile, copy the .cab file to your SD Card and run from within any file manager, then it will guide you, also when in doubt search its thread for more info

i have downloaded it there is no cab file when i extract it from the zip folder.

you have this file: File Type: mskip_Android_Loader_V6.0 Final.cab? that's the one, do not try to unpack it on your PC, just copy to SD Card and then run from there

the rar file dont show on the sd card??

How stable is the W7 ROM now and how easy is to install it?

Also, there is a third rom ATM, but it requires more work to get to the latest version. Although it allows for more flexible features and updating..

Try installing a better rom such as YukiXBMod, PDA's, or HD2O at 8107. I've been using WP7 and it has been by far the best OS I've ever used.
The speed of the phone also depends on your SD card. If it's sluggish, more than likely, your card isn't compatible.

I tried from htc's website this ROM Update for HTC HD2 (3.14.405.2), but I get the 260 error.
I tried to go with 23.Langs+HD2+Pdaimatejam+Rom+Wp7.5+mango+7.10.8107.79+v6.5 but I cant extract the files. I get an error.
please help!

all the roms available are in that thread. i'm using HD2O and it's fantastic. I'm not going back to Android. everything runs much smoother and i use my phone more rather trying to customize it like on the android.
and your SD card says only 200mb available because when you flashed WP7, it locked your SD card. there are only a few ways to unlock it.
i suggest you reflash WP7 again. It's a great OS.

you simply not read instructions (tutorial) how to install this ROM.... you already ask this question under ROM topic....

You are flashing the rom incorrectly.
Under the rom thread you wish to flash, please read the instructions first. All the Rom creators usually edit their thread to make sure the instructions are included. The instructions are also included in the DWI.exe file. You are just not reading it.
1. Turn off the phone completely.
2. Turn it back on and hold the shut down button until you reach the MAGLDR screen.
3. Press the green button on "USB Flash"
4. On your screen, it will load and say USB Flash ready!
5. Unrar the files and place them somewhere like your desktop.
6. Open "DWI.exe" and make sure you Ran it as ADMINISTRATOR.
7. Read everything or simply skim through it.
8. Keep clicking Next and watch everything finish on both your computer and phone screen.
9. Wait for it to boot up. It usually takes around 5-10 minutes.

Excellent and thanks very much. Too much head spinning information on sticky and almost gave up. Following linked guide took me less than 1hr and that including some partition errors + sd card not recognised msg on first try. Missed the part :
2.GO to services and activate the last 24mb of RAM
3.Also in services do format MBR
Now need activation. Just a quick one: can I change the sim(number) after received the code? Or the code is only valid for given phone number to MS chat agent?

Actually, Activation works
Tried on different phones, different rom, different SN (all HD2 though) different sims (also no sim) and different live account. Activation just always works.

Code is for a live account.. But you can use it on another account after 30days if the earlier account stays unused / withdrawn.... So you can use it on different phones, and and yes on different accounts too.. The problem comes when you want to install the same app you have on one phone-live account from marketplace...again on another phone with same account.... It says already installed

Installing HSPL via SD card? Is there a way?

I have a HD2 with defective USB port – phone still able to charge but nothing going on if plug to my laptop. I have Windows on it and was able to install Android SD ROM on it – so no issue with SD ROM via Haret booting.
I want to install NAND ROM on it via MAGLDR or CLK but need to install HSPL first. Since I have defective port, I won’t be able to install HSPL 2.08 via USB.
So question to the group – Is there a way to install HSPL 2.08 via SD card?

No USB = No HSPL.

Why don't you fix the usb port and make your life easier? Is it because you can't find spare parts or something else?
Anyways, regarding the main question I often wondered if flashing HSPL via SD card was possible... and the only way I would think of was GoldCard method.
Use a low capacity sd card to write the GoldCard.img to, place the HSPL (LEOIMG.nbh) on the root and flash it through tricolor screen..
To me, it sounds more or less right in theory, but never tried it.

I have it if needed, but generally a user that already has HSPL installed and runs Windows Mobile can dump it using itsutilsbin

Im really amazed that if its so easily done, how come it hasn't been done a long time ago, , tons of people have been begging for an sd flashable hspl since 2010.

Probably because nobody ever asked Kokotas or one of the other half a dozen or so people who would have known this answer. And, just to clarify, I had no clue either.

I really don't know if it would work... I only shared my thoughts. And before that, I suggested the most logical thing: fix the usb port
Just because I described it in a sentence it doesn't mean that it's something easy. At least I didn't say it in such a way.
If something is easy, that is probably the part of getting the HSPL in nbh format. I could even attach it here (but because I have not tested it and people tend to mess things up first and ask questions later, I'd better not).

[U]It is not flashable![/U] Needs to be [I]converted[/I] to nbh format before any flashing happens.

The not so easy part is to buy_revskills_psas, create_the_Goldcard & flash_HSPL_via_SDCard based ONLY on some stranger's (me) theory...

Ok, if you check samsamuel's next post, it seems that getting the goldcard.img is easy(&free) if you know the card's CID.
Writing that img to your card could probably be done by following [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17247902&postcount=2"]certain steps[/URL].
I can't stress enough that the hspl files and/or this theory are not tested!
So don't do anything that you will regret!

I have one of those HD2s with a damaged usb port with stock 3.14 wp6.5 loaded so wanted to try get hspl3.03 with clk 1.5 on it.
Could you please post the hspl3.nbh file so to create goldcard.
