Recently upgraded, giving my Dinc to my brother and want to get back to stock and S-On before I do.
I've tried flashing the unrevoked s-on tool through clockwork, but got an error:

Got device:
@PID: 69,"INCREDIBLE_C"
Got radio version:
2.15.10.05.06
E:unsupported radio version
E:Update failed. Check /sdcard/soff.log.
[/QUOTE
I subsequently flashed the stock gingerbread rom through the bootlader and I'm up and running without a problem but before I hand the phone off, I'd like to go back to S-ON, in case he has any problems and it comes up.
anyone know why id be getting that error and how to solve it?

im running my rooted mytouch 3g with currently cyanogen mod 5.8....which is android 2.1 update 1 i beleive....how do i run this or any other froyo roms....do i just flash it or do something else please help.....
orignialy i was using mytouch 3g running 1.6 then i did the one click rooting steps and works fine now im here...please help...thanks!!!
You should be able to download the ROM you want to use (make sure its compatible with your phone), copy the file (will be a .zip) to your SD card, go into recovery (home+power), select update from .zip, and then select the file from your SD card. Some of the older recoveries require that you rename the .zip file to update.zip before you can flash it.

Are you asking how do you run the rom??? Or are you asking how you update to a newer rom??? I'm really confused...
I'm confused as well. I suggest a nandroid backup before u do anything. Perhaps a backup phone

what im asking is well when i did the one click root program it rooted my phone and then i installed the clockword rom manager with recovery now thats all i did to it no updated for spl or anything...do you guys think i should do something else before i update this to the cyanogen rom froyo rom?? or just wipe and backup and flash??
Suggest amonra new recovery first off. There is a new radio 2.22.23.02 if its compatible with your spl. Then nandroid backup always. Then flash new Rom
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
Easy with flashing the radio, you could brick your phone that way. You shouldn't need to do anything but flash the ROM, unless you've got a board requiring the EBI1 kernel which should be available with the CM ROM. Go into fastboot using (power+back) and post that information here.

I'm trying to unroot my phone so I can send it back in for a replacement but whenever I try to flash the PD15IMG in the bootloader it says the "Main version is older" and the update fails. I used the PD15IMG from the unlockr, but I guess I guess I need an updated one? Anyone know how I can fix this?
EDIT:
I ended up figuring everything out. Here's the thread I made that explains everything.

Tmobile doesnt look to see If your phone is rooted or Not. There only interested in the physical aspect of the device.

you should have reverted back to the stock radio before flashing the stock PD15IMG...you could try flashing the newest updated RUU and then downgrade back to 2.2

I ran into the same problem as youre having when I tried to revert back to stock. flashed the stock PD15IMG in hboot, but was on an updated radio. you still have root access even tho it says s=on, but you can ONLY use the rom you were currently using when trying to go back to stock. (ex- if you were on Virtuous Unity v2.39 then you could only flash and use that rom) theres a thread that goes more into detail, heres the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092170 make sure you read the entire thread carefully
from what I understand, youll have to flash an updated RUU to fix the issue

Thanks for the link man, I should've searched before I posted. I read through the whole thing, and I'm still not sure what to do.. just a thought, but would this basically be like trying to root from the official 2.3.4 OTA?
And if there's an RUU for the GB OTA would that work in HBOOT, since it has the updated radio?
same thing happened to me, i have a glacier. (mytouch 4g) would appreciate any help. I was actually trying to restore to stock, unroot, and now i am s-on rooted
I got my problem resolved. If anyone has the same problem I made a thread about how to fix it.

because the recovery on your phone only allow install update by official OTA/rom.if
you want to install unofficial rom, first install unofficial recovery, and then install unofficial rom.

Hey guys,
I updated my Desire HD to aospx BR7 but upon rebooting the touchscreen is not responding at all. I have tried rebooting the phone multiple times and have taken the battery out but its not working I have a nandroid backup for the BR6 but I have touch recovery so I cannot access that either. Is there a way to access that nandroid backup or flash a different rom without the recovery? I would really appreciate any help
Cheers
EDIT: I was able to use fastboot to flash the CWM recovery but upon restoring my aospx BR6 nandroid backup, the touchscreen is still not responsive. I tried a fresh install as well but its still not working. Any ideas?? Cheers
1:Reboot into bootloader
2:Connect your phone to your pc
3:select fastboot
4:run a RUU for your phone
See if this helps.

Thanks for the reply mate. I found this RUU ROM from the Desire hd development list....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
Is that ok to flash? Also the poster is giving instructions on flashing it through the recovery but how would I go about flashing it through fastboot? Like I know when flashing radio you just write fastboot flash radio radio.img. Are there multiple disc images that I have to flash?
Cheers
Go into fastboot and run this RUU from your computer:

Hmm =\ yes you can flash the recovery from fastboot. But this seems to be a hardware issue. It's not responding at all?

yea not responding at all mate. Yea might be hardware issue but the problem came up as soon as the ROM was flashed so I was thinking it might be like a touch driver or something. I tried flashing recovery but I get this

Guess what....I tried a vodafone uk RUU...thinking that it might have the vodafone splashscreen at boot up so repair guys dont suspect anything weird. When i flashed it the touchscreen magically started working  Now in order to root, recovery and ENG S-off.....I know there is like the ace hack kit. While reading the instructions, it said that I shouldnt use the tool if I have S-off and i do. Should i bite the bullet and give it a shot?
Here is the info for the phone
Android version: 2.2
Software number: 1.32.405.3

Nope.
Check if you have a recovery. If not just flash one. I believe, not sure, that the hack kit will give you those options in the event you don't have a recocery.

Check to see what are the other options for the hack kit. I can't remember if it has one if you are already s-off. But do not run it again since you are already rooted, if you do it will mess things up.

The vibtation being from the white screen only stop when the phone is power off.

When I got my inspre 4g, it's already been unlocked and install Gingerbread. but reboot frenquently.
I use hack kit because it was locked after flashed some rom by myself. so I have to unlock it again.
Do you mean hack kit is for modify S-ON to S-OFF?
I supposed RUU can overwrite every thing on my phone. I could unlock and flash rom from very begining. but after I installed the RUU, my phone is still ship s-off.
Could you please suggest which program is running when I start recovery?
My phone don't vibrate when it's in fastboot model but in recovery. Is this helpful to locate the root cause of this issue? Thanks a lot!
vibrate issue is solved by
1. fastboot oem lock.
2. flash the RUU again.
