Has anyone found a smoother rom than SuperCsdiV4?

Every I flash a rom i always see myself coming back to Csdi because of its smooth feeling.
Any suggestions about rom's thats smoother or just as smooth?

Have you tried CyanogenMod Yet? I have it on my g1 and i upgraded to the HD2, but i still go back because of the speed, seems flawless and the APPS2SD is awesome, so phone never gets slow.

i have heard that ginger yoshi and Froyo by Laszlo are pretty good....specialty froyo by laslo ive eard that its very fast .....trying them out...

froyo by lazlo at the moment.. most stable froyo rom i have ever tested.. always find myself coming back to it even after csdi but i've been testing out this sense rom by xillius200 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807183 he still doing work to it updating it to peoples request if you want to test it out and tell him what you think..

Hey can u direct me to a guide on how to install froyo by lazlo?.....I flash it using cwm but all I get is a bootloop.....so I stick with cm....I have hboot 1.33.2005, and radio. 2.22.23.02....thank u.

Froyo by Laszlo requires SPL 1.33.0013d and Radio 2.22.27.08 / 28.25 as well as an
Ext 4 partition on your SD card.
Here is a guide to update your radio and SPL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139.
After that, the ROM should boot fine.

i know a way of updating radio and hboot via recovery it real easy as long as you have danger spl or above

Beware of updating Hboot via recovery...you can BRICK your phone that way.

yeah i know haha i had to look into **** before i did it but as long as you have danger spl and root the device the way i did it than it works perfect!! i do appreciate the warning though thank you

I updated my radio via recovery....but I dunt want to update t hboot via recovery because they say cwm sucks and amen RA is better.....

yeah i got amon RA and i upgraded my hboot to 1.33.0013d and radio to 2.22.28.25 but there a couple things you need to do to make it work lol you can't just flash the radio and hboot!! gotta flash a custom mtd with it but its actually reallyyyy easy if anybody want to know how i will give you step by step how to do it

Well I grew sum balls and risked it......I flashed hboot oo13d and radio 28.25...all three cwm....it all wen fine....it looped with the current rom at the time cm....but flashed froyo by laszlo and everything went perfect....the only thing is I get a damaged SD card message.....I think it because I have to have SD formatted with an ext3 ur 4,,.....,..........

you want ext4 with froyobylazlo but try re partitioning. and if it dont fix it than re partition it to 0mb swap and 0mb ext let it finish than power phone off, remove sd card and plug into computer. format it FAT32!! now put it back in your phone and partition to your liking!! my preffrence is 128mb swap 1024mb ext4

Well I reformatted the card to fat32...all of it...how do I go about and do an ext4 partition on it?......through cwm?....I know how to do an ext4 but with gparted....is there an easier wai. ?

im not sure how through cwm i hate that recovery lol i always use the RA dream 1.7.0

Well I partitioned it to 80mb ext4....using gparted....it worked its all good now......but I am hvinf problems with froyobylaszo....everytime I boot up ....once I can access the launcher ...I slide over to access some apps of I have on that screen...and it freezes...completely....I have to take batteries out to reboot....

I agree with mostly everybody here, Froyo by lazlo and Ginger yoshi are the best on the G1. Lazlo is the best when it comes to Froyo on the G1. GingerYoshi is the best Gingerbread ROM for the G1. They both have all the features of Cyan, but the speed off a 2.1 or a 1.6 ROM.

[Q] Need Help Updating My Radiooooo

I have a [32A] My Radio is 2.22.23.02 Im trying to update it to 3.22 I Found a tutorial but really didnt understand the command prompt parts ..................................sorry ima noob

No no no no no, did I say no? You've got a hybrid 32A/32B device. Flash that radio and your phone will become a paperweight. You need to read the sticky on the first page about myTouch 1.2's.

Ooooooooo I get now so my phone is really 32B? Hmmmmm the reason I was asking because I want to get Ginger yoshi rc4 it said it needed 3.22......how do I successfully install that rom?

You probably wont be able to. You can try flashing it and then flashing a 32B kernel over it, but that may send you into a bootloop. Which is fine, just make sure you make a backup of your current ROM first so you can restore it if something does go wrong.

When I flash Ginger Yoshi I do go into boot loop I always thought it was the radios fault tho..

Its not necessarily that the radio is at fault, more that the ROM's kernel isn't made to support the 2.22.23.02 radio.

After perm root using gfree and visionary do I have do downgrade to eng build?

I have a myTouch 4G that came with the ota on it, fully rooted now with s-off using gfree and visionary..is it really necessary to load the eng build on it? I'll still be able to load roms and stuff correct?

you dont have to...but its highly recommended to load the eng hboot...its a little less prone to bricking and what not...the perma root thread talks about that pluses of using the eng hboot
but if you dont want to use it...you can still flash roms and stuff =)

Well honestly I'm coming from a G2 and the myTouch4G was the rom I used on my G2 the longest so chances are I won't be flashing right off hand but want to remove the bloat and didn't know if there was a true benefit to go ahead and flash the eng build or not

I would also suggest flashing the Eng Hboot. It only takes a sec and it makes it less likely you could brick your phone. The people I have seen more issues out of are the people that havent flashed it.

Went ahead and flashed the eng build...I also went back to stock and redid gfree to get that patched file. Is there a way to theme the stock Rom with through uot kitchen? Just want to change my battery icon

from the looks of it...some of those battery mods should work with stock rom
now you will have to flash with cwm 2.5.x.x in order to flash them or somewhere in that thread is a way to update the zip files so you can flash with 3.0.0.6 cwm

Now plz help me should i need anything else and i m pretty confused some in thread says
2.2.1 restores original recovery image.
And plz some tell is necessary to flash radio and hboot after this process.
Plz some one help me.

Mytouch 3g Flashed
Simple steps I used
1. I rooted using universal androot.apk (google it/ get it anywhere)
2. I went onto market and installed rom manager
3. used rom manager to install custom recovery (AmonRA)
4. Downloaded custom rom (unlockerdotcom)
5. Flashed custom rom via custom recovery There u go!!
Wd appreciate a "thank you"

I think Universal androot do not work on froyo 2.2.1.
If you root through this then please give me link for androot

[Q] How to upgrade android OS 1.5 to ≥ 2.1?

Hey guys, I just lost my phone and got an htc magic phone from a friend and i would like to download certain apps, but some of them require android 2.1 OS or higher..
is there any way to upgrade the OS from 1.5 to ≥ 2.1? If anyone knows, please post a step by step procedure for the upgrade..
the specs of my htc magic are:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT - 1.33.0009 (SAPP10000)
CPLD - 12
RADIO - 3.22.20.17

Step one, root.
Step two, custom recovery
Step three, install a rom you like
On android 1.5, universal androot is an easy app to gain root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598
An old version of rom manager could be used for a custom recovery. If it refuses to work (android 1.5 is very old..) you could install it manually, or use another app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=acr.recovery.installation.utility
For a custom rom, my biased recommendation for a 32a device like yours is my cm7 rom. Find it it my signature

tvall, after i flashed the cm7 rom and kernel, then reboot, my htc magic is just stuck at the cm7 animation loop..
any ideas why and/or how to fix this ?
Edit: nevermind, i just skipped the wipe cache, wipe/factory reset and wipe dalvik cache steps before flashing.. now its up and running! thanks heaps tvall!

By the way, that old rom manager doesn't work on my poor old htc magic. I followed some youtube video on how to do flash recovery using RA's recovery instead and that seems to work lol.

though now im stuck without internet access? (no data from network provider)

the apn settings seem fine.
I just found out my internet only works if i tick both "data enabled" and "international/national data roaming". im not overseas or anything
is this normal? will i get charged more for using data?
