modern combat3 on atrix - Atrix 4G General

on SGS2, I found MC3 had some differences like graphical effects
(better on SGS2), and briefings before missions.
My atrix made lower frames and even no lighting effects.
are these due tegra2? could I make it better?
I think graphical performance of atrix is good enough, sufficiently to run MC3 wih no graphic limits..

Had no such things as you describe. Ive got briefings before and within missions (actually to many briefings...) and have great effects.
Try replacing your kernel, it helped me with other games, maybe it will help here as well...

Runs well for me, great graphics. Unfortunately not as great as my friends iphone though.

; is it just for the kernel? then i will try with faux123's latest kernel,
thanks

I have not experienced this either.

correct error ...hh
now i see the briefings..!
but look carefully on your guns, can you see the light effects also?

[ICS/JB] Push It To The Limit!

I've found that on ICS ROM's specific games tend to look much better than on Stock ROM's without much of a sacrifice for general performance. However because the touchpads work better on the Stock ROM's it's usually better to go for one of them!
So, I've been trying to find a way to get similar looks on the Stock ROM's without much of a decrease in performance and with options to revert back if needed with ease.
As many of you may know, Chainfire3D doesn't really bode well with ICS or JB however I've got it running on MarkPython's Stock ICS ROM and I've got several games that would normally look extremely poor with very low textures to now look much better with not much of a drop in framerate!
NOVA 3 for example, looks terrible normally on this ROM. However with Chainfire3D and a plugin or two you can get it to look really good!
That being said, I have gone a little too far currently and made it look so good that it now plays for about 3 seconds before crashing! But hey, that's not the point!
What I'm trying to find out is, what combinations of modifications, apps and other things do you use in order to push your Xperia Play to the limit and get whatever performance it can get?
I guess clock speeds and benchmark results would also be a good thing to post so... I'm running at 1.6Ghz, deadline, performance/smartassV2. Best I've ever managed on Nenamark is 35.9 FPS and I currently have all games on FPSe running at 60fps at all times.
But how is the framerate on NOVA 3? If it's looking that good performance can't be great.
Yeah, on average with the standard textures the game provides you get a fair framerate... Which is somewhat consistant when the textures are higher too.. Hence why i was so confused when they're so low on the Stock ROM but not as bad on CM9.
Which is why i was trying to find the balance between the two with Chainfire3D...
Unfortunately it puts the textures up VERY high and makes the game look great! Downside is framerate is terrible and eventually the game crashes..
However! The Play can hand much better than what is set by the game.. What you're given almost makes my eyes bleed just looking at it.

Best rom for gaming?

I've been trying different Roms lately, such as cm10.1, slim bean, liquid smooth. They were all fine except liquid smooth. But I was just wondering in general, is there a ROM that enhances or makes gaming better on?
No. Your question is silly, it's like asking. What is the best operating system for gaming? Is it windows 7? Mac? Or Linux?
... What you're asking for are kernels, not roms. And there is no best rom or kernel. Just look around and try for yourself

As zephix mentioned, you should be looking at kernels, not roms, to improve gaming performance. You would want to look into kernels that overclock the GPU by default, or give you the option to overclock it yourself. Compare the different kernels out there, matrix, faux, motley, harsh, etc and see which one benefits the GPU the most.
For example the Matrix kernel has a GPU overclocked version that boost the gpu up to 487mhz. This should help improve game performance but will also negatively affect battery life when gaming.
Trinity kernel, its the BOOM
Trinity kernel forces gpu over clocking all the time though, with no option to set it back.
You can try the RasBeanJelly ROM + Trinity kernel combo. RasBean has new bionic patches while Trinity bumps up GPU. I'm running that right now. There was a nice jump in my Antutu score (20,000+), but we all know benchmark numbers mean nothing.
Like zephiK and Raider said: it's up to you to try out a bunch of different ROMs/kernels and see which ones you like best. Since I'm answering, I say check out RasBeanJelly and Trinity.
Faux' kernel gives me quite good 3D performance.
franco r53 has quite bad 3D performance for me. r61 seems to be really good, but somehow uses more battery while gaming, at least for me.
Every ROM is okay, I play games with vsync off and 128mhz CPU and they run good. Dead trigger, most wanted, temple run 2, and riptide are smooth. Games that aren't tolerable are basically not optimized and most likely lag on every device it can run on. Long story short, every ROM is apt, the GPU is a beast and isn't necessary for things out now. And HD YouTube even works in this mode.

All roms have bionic. Rom won't do anything to your game. Kernel probably won't either. Games on the stock nexus 4 run great. If it weren't for washed out colors I'd say kernels are a waste of time. But anyone saying that stock android on the nexus 4 is slow or unfit for gaming is a liar. Just stop worrying about this performance bs, enjoy your nexus.

[Q] Which ROM for performance on LG P700

Hello there, community!
This is my first post on xda forums and I will try to make it quick.
I'm looking for a fast ROM that will run smoothly sacrificing more unneeded features and options. I found stock 4.0.3 rom stuttering and lagging from time to time, even in Contacts section.
With no work in the background, my LG has around 80-100 RAM left, which I'd like to increase. I also plan on running some more advanced 3d games, so a little overclock would also be nice - I know this CPU is already oc'd from 800 to 1000 mhz but maybe it's worth trying to push it a bit more and take the weight off by disabling CPU rendering in favor of the GPU (I mean this great performance boost everyone is talking about when you force GPU rendering). If it works the way I think and with the GPU taking care of all the rendering, maybe processor won't heat so much and could be overclocked above 1 Ghz. What do you guys think?
In short, I'm looking for a fast ROM with a gaming and overclocking potential. Thanks in advance for the replies!
I use Slimbean 4.1.2 and it's really smooth and fast!
It's also perfect for my gaming needs but I don't really know what games you're after though!
Give it a try, you will certainly like it!

Well, I'm looking for overall better performance. For example on this stock rom, in the game Galaxy on Fire sound and interface lags etc. I found it odd that some simple games like Jetpack Joyride often stutter during gameplay, but Rayman Jungle Run with much better sound and graphics runs smoothly.
I'll check the rom you mentioned. Any more sugestions?
You should give a try to PAC ROM 4.3.Even it has some bugs,I found it smoother than I thought. After it will become stable,it will be one of the best or even the best ROM as performances.

Good ROM for Gaming and general use? for Galaxy S4 i9505

Hi, i'm looking for a good rom for gaming and general use (texting, calling etc) I want it to be able to handle games like Mortal Kombat X (at a playable frame-rate)
Currently i'm running on an old build of Optimized CM13 (Which of course is called LineageOS, but i have an old build so it's still Cyanogenmod) I have also tried Game Booster apps but they don't make that much of a difference.
Try an AOSP ROM, not LineageOS. CyanogenMod never tested the code they threw into the source, leading to lots of bugs and a general slowness for LineageOS.
I'd recommend you try GLTools or Screen Shift.
Screen Shift can reduce the resolution of your screen, thus improving performance. And yes, it actually works. I'm using it to play Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links. Without Screen Shift the game is really laggy, not unplayable but not smooth either, with Screen Shift it it's a lot better and smoother. The lowest resolution I recommend, without having black bars, is 480x854.
GLTools kinda does the same, but it also has more advanced options like emulating another CPU/GPU.
It allows you to reduce the graphics and resolution to improve performance or you can also increase them if your phone's is capable of running it smooth at such high settings (which is not the case for you I guess).
I myself am using Screen Shift. GLTools doesn't seem to make any difference to my game at all.

Thanks for telling me about these tools! will check them out later. GLTools sounds good, hope it'l work for me.

Updated adreno drivers?

I do a lot of gaming on my phone and I'm always looking for ways to improve performance and efficiency. I was under the impression that Qualcomm made the adreno drivers upgradeable but I can't seem to find out how.
Also, does anyone know any OOS11 compatible kernels that support gpu overclock? Only one I could find is radioactive that supports 670mhz but I've seen other OOS10 kernels that support higher than that. Thanks a bunch.

What are you playing that it can't run.?
I run emulators, the hardest of which would be the Wii but that runs flawlessly.
Sure there's a PS2 one out there but that's slow because it's not finished..
I'm set to see anything that would require a push from a kernel.
Magisk has upgraded drivers..
If you really must then use radioactive....totally unnecessary but there you go.
Also search for adreno in play store, there's plenty of apps to mod your drivers and such.
I'd be interested to hear what you're actually doing that requires it though.

I definitely don't require it, and you've got it right- there really isn't much you can throw at it that it can't handle, and nothing here is a need per se. I just simply like to have absolute latest and greatest just for sake of having it and that might just be me. As far as things that I have thrown at it that I wouldn't mind a couple more fps, even though at this rate is a bit of a nit-pick; Lineage II Revolution (High pop areas), Genshin impact, Ark, TauCeti, Dolphin emu wii(CODMW3, mostly) games + GC games internal res @ 1080P to be screen cast to my TV. Plus I'm a bit of a benchmark nerd ...because epeen.
Anyways, I appreciate your response and I'm always looking out for your posts as you seem to be one of the most knowledgeable out here :good:
Edit: just realized I mentioned someone named 1080P lol

Lol no worries man. I definitely get what you mean, sometimes it's nice to know you can rather then need to.
Thanks btw.
Also the adreno driver. Be nice if it was more efficient..
I'm trying to break 10 hours consistently, always lands on 9 hours with 15% left.
Currently on EX.

Exactly. Yes, efficiency is always something I'm looking for as well. There's times, especially when I'm home near the charger that I like to crank things up a bit, but always have to be careful running heavy games on the go. 3d mark wild life stress test benchmark used 10% in 20 mins!! Of course, that's not real-world use, luckily.
