Who will buy a samsung again? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I will buy a new dual core phone for my gf this days. I think this won't be a samsung because lack of support. They don't care and no ics for galaxy s. This means they doesn't respect 20 million galaxy s users.
Evo 3D is looking nice. Cheaper than sensetion. and even better than sensetion. What you think about other phones?
Xiaomi Mi-One is looks like best choice ( 1.5 Ghz dual core adreno 220 and 1980 mah battery latest ics) and 310$! but I don't know how can I buy one on my country. Also can't find on internet.

Galaxy Note was so laggy. Stupid lagwiz. I played it on a shop. I don't have time to optimize it.
Happy new year brother.

I think i will buy the Galaxy S3, but i will still use my s1 to test new ROM's etc for it

I guess I will!

I will...Lagwiz & No-ICS-for-SGS is a different story...Samsung's hardware IMO is really reliable.
Plus, i'm just not buying a non-Amoled phone at all...So NO HTC for now...

ya its a good one but no development till now. but i m sure it will get ics.
No It wont get ICS. And yes it is not better than Galaxy 3. The seolution and screen is quite small. But if you are looking for a budget android you can go for that. Here the full review. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGCJnfsoHYY&feature=feedu
i seen a preview of this phone on phonearena, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4IQAhMFBZY it didnt really made me want to buy it. i'd look further because i think in the lower/mid price range there are a lot of nice phones.
i just saw a galaxy gio for 99 € new i'm thinking of buying tomorrow one
here is a review
yeah, ive seen that review and its a nice phone indeed. but ill wait for maybe the next generation of phones. till then ill stick to my G3.
I got the feeling that galaxy Y is only good for the user with almost no need & intrest in developing & modding. And from what I know about samsung I can guarantee you that it would never get ICS, no need to agree with me but is it not obvious?
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
Galaxy Y would be downgrade from optimus one in terms of camera, screen Resolution , graphics
But if your budget is constrained to 7k , only then go for it.

sgs today

Hello
recently i destroyed my htc desire so i have to move on and buy another phone
I want to ask you, owners of SGS, if this phone is worth to buy for 250€-brand new, i know that this phone is very good ( because desire was good too ), but i can also have sgs2 for 400€ and its an epic upgrade of sgs.
So what would you recommend me?
Thanks
Oliver
SGS - Just right...
Hai,
IMHO, my SGS just fits my hand nicely. Not too small and not too big.
SGS2 is nice. Significant upgrade from SGS2, but it's just to big.
My SGS with ICS Teamhacksung rom just make this phone even better.
Love it.
Regards.
Honestly, I am quite happy with my Galaxy S.
BUT...
To anyone looking to buy a new phone, I'd recommend the Galaxy S2. Why? Because it's much better in every sense. I find that 512 mb of RAM just doesn't cut it any more. My 5mp camera needs an upgrade and a flash would have been nice!
If you can buy a Galaxy S2, you should buy one. Plus, it'll take some time for that phone to get old. It's still one of the best ones on the market while the original Galaxy S is becoming old news.... Unless you're a flashaholic!
If you have 400€ for a phone, I will advice you to add it 40€ and get yourself a Galaxy Nexus.

bah I'm an alco and flashaholic
i think i will go for sgs2, maybe just because of that big screen!
thank you guys

Should I get a Galaxy Note

I just recently bought a Skyrocket and being that it is SII based, it is a very nice phone. I am still being pulled into the Note though even with the SIII on the horizon. I am looking to hear from the guys who have a Galaxy Note what they think about it and after owning it for a while if they would keep it or trade for something smaller.
Just some FYI, I have been on android since the Aris, I have also owned the, Galaxy S, Thunderbolt, G2x, Moto Droid 2, Sensation, and xoom, all of which have been rooted and ROMed. I consider myself well educated and experienced in android phones.
I've had my note since November and can honestly say there's still not a phone on the horizon I'd trade in my NOTE for. Love it like a baby!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
i would definitely recommend it!
I had Desire, Sensation, One X, Note (and a few less powerfull phones like galaxy 3, xperia mini)
Note is the best device I had used till now!

Same here...I bought my Note Back In November Last Year and there's no going back...waiting patiently to see what samsung does for version 2....heard rumors they want to make it a 6.5" screen...I say to keep it at 5.3 or 5.5 but bump the ram up to 2gb, use the tegra 3 quad core processor, 12mp with xeon flash back camera, 2mp front camera, official support for micro sd 64gb, two micro sd slots, dual sim slots, and a whole lotta other niceties to make this phone the king again...Ps I don't care if the price is set at 999 for all these features...Im buying...rofl...jk..seriously

i know the feeling that he has!
After watching that video I feel very much the same.
Not quite with a smartphone but I remember going from my 17" 1280x1024 LCD to a 24" 1920x1200 and it was WOW. After using the 24" and then looking at the 17" I just couldn't look at the smaller screen.
Even though I have not owned a smartphone other than the Note I can not see myself going to a smaller phone.
So my next phone will be another Note hopefully.
I really like it. But it really depends on the person.
So my recommendation is go to a store where they sell them and look at a demo or something.

I still have an SGS II and the wife loves hers. She doesn't want a Note. I love using the Note and I am still amazed at people's surprise when seeing the phone. They don't know what it is. Most people then want one.
I will be buying an International S3 when they start appearing used to see of the mid size screen between the s2 and note will be a good trade off, If so the SGS2 will go on Ebay and the Note will then be relegated to the back up position. If not the S3 will go back on Ebay and I keep the S2 until the Note II.
I don;t find the size prohibitive at all. I am used to using two hands on it and use it like a Notepad. Carrying it in my pockets is easy ( I would not want to put a case on it though).

Well, I ain't upgrading. S2 is good enough!!
The people who have the money and dont have anything else to spend on will buy it
As for the devs buying it they need a new challenge on the latest device
Only upgrade would be a HD screen who cares when its only a 4.8 inch screen
And then comes Quad core, I believe the dual core does enough tasks

S III rocks. More performance and more battery than S II. Why NOT to upgrade? Only if you don't have enough money, because everyone wants to upgrade. It's always good to keep supported and updated things. S II is going to be DEAD for Samsung in a few months, just like S I. I don't doubt Samsung won't update S II to Jellybean, just like they didn't update S I to ICS.

The S1 came with Eclair then to Froyo and hen Gingerbread. So there is a chancr S2 will go from GB to ICS then JB (Not Justin Beiber. Lol).. But if samsung follows the 18month rule (forgot what it was called) and JB wont be released within a few months then there is a chance we won't get an upgrade (from the OEM anyway). If pocketnow is correct and JB is just a
point release (minor update from 4.0 ics to 4.1 and not 5.0) then maybe we will have a chance.

Battery is nice, but I dont see any large reason of requiring more performance. SGS2 does everything I need done without problems. Obviously there are other upgrades and new things, but nothing to completely convince me to change to the SGS3.

I agree, but more battery results almost the same if you have more processor and bigger screen, plus i really like the SG2 design over the SG3.
I think I'll pass the 3 and wait for the 4. Or the next Sony Xperia S, because thats a sexy phone, and the only reason why i dont change my SG2 its because it has the same or less specs.
I was expecting more from the SG3. It just dont look classy like the 2. Looks more plastic.

Of course not. Can't I give my opinion? If you disagree, you can post here why. But just telling that it was noobish, just make your answer noobish. So shut up and stop being a noob.
PS: Some guy told me that the GS I has been upgrated twice. Sorry, I forgot this fact. Maybe Samsung won't forget the GSII in a few months, but after Jellybean. I'm sure Samsung will upgrate GS II to JB, it was no major update, it's mostly the project butter And since the nexus got upgraded, Samsung has no excuses to not upgrade.
Really this is how i look at it: The S3 is the S2 with a slightly nicer screen, slightly nicer battery, slightly nicer version of android, Slightly more memory, and a few mild tweaks. Big deal! The S2 still kicks ass of any phone out there, its a workhorse that will be good for at least another year before its really outdated.
Faster processor? My processor is fast enough as it is!
More memory? I never run out of memory doing what i usually do!
Newer android version? Developers for the SGS2 are awesome! LOTS of development for the S2 and theres lots of ports from the S3 to be made, still lots of room to advance the S2 so no worries there.
The only way im going to the S3 is if i can sell my phone and buy the S3 for only $100 more. Thats my limit. If i can, why not. $100 for me for an upgrade every year or so? thats not too bad. But if it doesnt happen so what? I love my phone! it works well, its fast, it does everything i want and more!
Anyways, thats how i feel, and i know there are many otheres who feel the same way!

SGS2 id known as the android device with the most roms available, and i can tell you one thing,
if you want the sgs3 becouse of its os, SGS2 next update wont be 4.1 Jellly Bean,
it will be touchwiz ux from the sgs3, but for the performance, its a great device,
but they didnt solve neither battery or heat problems, and the device is very weak
and fragile

The s3 has double the memory...that's not a slight upgrade at all. Just wanted to point that out...I agree with the rest. Although the s3 is noticeably faster. I played with one at work today...it was impressive. At least it was a bigger upgrade than the iPhone 4 to the 4s. That's what made me get a gs2 in the first place...slow laggy 512 ram from the iPhone compared to a gig in the s2 and the s3 has 2gb and its very noticeable.

Before I actually got the phone in my hands I didn't think it was any different from S2. Oh how wrong was I. The S3 is a much better device in every aspect.

Galaxy S III vs other phone out there today.

Hey guys!
I just recently lost my Galaxy S 3, and honestly I was thinking I will buy the phone again, but since I'm going to use my money to invest a brand new phone. Is there any other phone out there which is better than the S 3 today? I'm not interested in HTC One X.
I would wait for the Note 2 that will be unveiled later this month.

If you cant wait definately the SGS III. There is no other device that is so well rounded atm. Nice screen, best ergonomic design in the android line (after 2 years with a DHD its a blessing to be able to power up the phone with the physical homebutton and shut it off on the side, no way to power on a OneX with only one hand of my size...), good battery life, exactly as much storage as you need: 16-128gb, nice UI and huge XDA support.
There were two other devices i was thinking about: The Huawei Ascend D quad and the Galaxy Nexus. But the huawei had cpu problems and was delayed - not a good sign imho. And what looked like a stock google experience first with fast updates, was killed by another bad looking sluggish UI, so we have no idea how fast they will bring out updates etc.
The Galaxy Nexus is only nice because it already has JB and is cheaper, but that will eventually come to the SGSIII as well. The small storage and the lower mpx camera were the turnoff here.
And you know how it is with Smartphones there is always the next big thing right around the corner... So after having the SGSIII for a few days i really feel like i have made the right choice! Its such a big step if you're coming from an older phone like the DesireHD. Everything is soo fu***** fast!!!
Alright, thanks for the advice, but from every places I have read, and heard personal from Huawei owner wasn't satisfied with the product. Either the phone died to quickly, or the battery just started to decrease, or yet... it just stop, or freeze, so they have to reboot all the time.
I used to own my GSIII, and the phone was nice. I wasn't unhappy with the product, except I didn't like the home button. It was small and narrow, and not so flexible like the GS II.
Personally, it would be more higher chance for me to buy the GS III again, but since the GS III just arrived out to the market for few months now, and I was thinking perhaps there might be a better phone which could stand against the GS III. Personally, I would love the phone have a good sound chip. The GS II suck so hard vs the GS I and III for the sound.
The only two complaints, although major, I had with the Xperia S was that it was using the Qualcomm S3 and the screen had a yellow tint problem. I didn't mind GB so much and the Qualcomm S3 was actually surprisingly smooth. The tablet S with a crappy tegra 2 runs incrediblly smooth with the ICS update too.
So I would think the Xperia GX and Mint will be the closest S3 competitors on the horizon. They earned some points with me. I am sure Nokia will show the windows phone 8 flagship soon as well.

Thats probably why Huawei delayed the phones. It should bother you if they released the phones in that state, not that they held off on releasing them to fix the problems.
