Well, i got the phone today for christmas. When i powered it up and plugged it into the charger it waas 86% on the phone. I charged it to 100% then tried it for 10 minutes and i noticed that it went down to around 86%.. And i was like WTF so i powered it in again and now its still in there..
I thought that the reason for this is that its a new batter and never been fully charged so it have to be charged for several hours on 100% for it to be fully loaded.. Is this true or what can cause this problem??
Thanks alot in advance!
Miikalsen
Let the battery discharge all the way before charging it up again.
It takes a while for a new battery to settle in.
By the way, nice Christmas present!

Hi all, I have a quick question. I have read in various forums that leaving my phone plugged in after its fully charged can ruin battery life. Does anyone know if this is true? I usually plug it in to charge when I go to bed and I know it finishes well before o wake up. Thanks
A question for mythbusters! In this day and age it won't harm the phone or battery...though some people disagree...I've always charged mine overnight...especially since the vibrant takes a little over 4 hours to charge!

That's what I thought, but I figured I would ask. Thanks
No problem leaving it plugged in overnight, according to this tweet from Samsung Service,
Hey guys, I just wanted to point something out that I found. I have two Motorola bh6x batteries for my atrix and today one of the batteries ran down to 15% or so. Since I was in a hurry I just swapped it out for my fully charged battery. Later on I plugged the first battery back in and it somehow had 55% charge. What I'm wondering is how the heck that's possible. Has anyone else seen this happen to their phones?

My experience with android. Reboot phone to gain about 10% back.

Its magic!! I had a feeling this was a glitch in the battery reading.

It was Harry Potter who done it!
I swear guv!
In adition to rebooting and taking the battery out to sit idle, Ive found that soaking my battery overnight will double its charge! jk
I know your phone keeps a batterystats.bin file, and to "calibrate" you delete this file after fully charged. Not sure how this works with two batteries tho.?
Itz weird. I'm facing this problem since the last 3 days.
What happens is, my phone does not get charged during the evening or the night. I plugged it in the AC socket, I can see the red light and the battery indicator on the status bar also shows the charging animation. But the battery percentage just does not increase!!
Like, for instance, yesterday night, I tried to charge my phone and it did not get charged. It discharged fully. Today morning, at around 9am, I kept it to charge in the same socket and it charged (upto 100%). And just now, (itz 5:48 pm here) I tried to charge it through the same socket and itz not getting charged. WTF!!
P.S. I'm running CM7 build 16 (or probably 15). I am using this build since it was released.
HTC Wildfire
I think you should calibrate the battery. If still problem persist then my suggestion will be to get a new battery. Because this problem has been asked in Q&A a long days ago. Don't remember the subject line though

1st remove battery wait for sometime later insert it and try to charge ur phone through PC. It might work, else go to clockworkmod > advance > wipe battery > restart. This might work.
I tried that.
BTW, today my phone got charged usinng another charger. Itz still weird. My charger works inn my college but not at my home.. LoL
I think buying a new battery and keeping it as spare is the best alternative.

Best thing I ever bought was a spare battery and a universal (so I can use it when I upgrade too) battery charger that you clip a battery into, I never have to worry about battery life as no matter how hard I hammer it, my spare is always charged first.

Somewhere between 700 to 800 Rs
Can't you change the phone's date and time?
Hello,
I noticed some crazy things happening to my N4 during charging yesterday.
It was at about 20% and I had a few hours to charge it before going out for the night. I charged it to about 50% and then stepped out of the house.
After I came home at night, I plugged it in like I do before I go to bed. I woke up after 5-6 hours to use the bathroom and checked my phone. It was stuck at 76% charging. I knew something was wrong because it shouldn't of taken 5-6 hours to get to 76%. I opened my battery settings and noticed something very weird happening.
The indicator was saying "76% Charging" and then "76% Not Charging" and it was alternating between the 2 really fast. It was as if I was taking the plug out of the wall and putting it back in REALLY fast. I checked the outlet and it was fine, it was plugged in just fine (I've been using the same outlet fine for a week)
I restarted the phone and suddenly the battery jumped to 86%. WTF?
I kept it charging and went back to sleep. Woke up few hours later and it got stuck at 76% again! And it sat there bouncing back and forth like before.
I restarted the phone a FINAL time and then finally it fully charged to 100%.
WTF is going on?
Seems like your battery indicator might have been messing up, reboots fix this

Yeah sounds like it but really odd how it got stuck at 76%.
When it hit 86% it just stayed consistently charging but the % wasn't increasing. Looking at the battery graph from last night it seemed to be at 86% for at least a few hours.

I would leave it charging for such a period that it would be at 100% if it was at all normal.
Then reset battery stats, let it fully discharge through use, recharge, and see how it goes.

Reset battery stats without root permissions? Don't think it's possible, right?
A few others experiencing this, here's one other thread, there are more mentions of it elsewhere. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012885

NP. I'm trying to get data on Li-Po batteries that doesn't originate from an RC plane/car/heli website, turns out it's really, really hard
HI all,
I have encountered a problem that my phone cannot be charged to fully 100%. I turn off the phone and charged until full (the batter bar is not moving anymore) around 2.5 hours. Then, i unplug my phone and turn it on. I found out that only 98% of the battery at the glance...So what is the problem?
Need help seriously. Thanks
Maybe reset battery stats in recovery..

Unless your using a kernel with BLX it won't charge over that, no phone in reality charges above 96%

Mine charges to 99% most of the time then I unplug the cable, plug it back in and it goes to 100%.
Sometimes I unplug it at 99% and it then goes to 100% battery, totally stock rom none rooted.
Mine only just started to charge to 99% this morning. Have been getting 'Charged' usually. Hopefully it's not a sign of the battery slowly dying.

It has nothing to do with the battery slowly dying.

So what does that mean by 99%? For some reason it was able to fully charge last night.
