Hello everybody,
I am living in Ecuador south america, used to have a samsung focus (ALL PERFECT until two robbers took my phone) now I am using a DVP that was locked for tmobil but dell gave me the unlock code, besides that I forced to mango three months ago with zune until I got 7720.219.
Now, the main problem I am having is that I can't access to my voice mail, with samsung focus I never had problems to call *82 and check my voice mails BUT with DVP the phone company (MOVISTAR) says "THE PHONE NUMBER YOU DIALED DOESN'T EXIST" I can call any number except the voice mail, (therefore I can't loose the voicemail alert .
I heard that this is because the phone is configurated for TMOBIL only, and that if I want to chage that I will need to modify the IMSI. How can I do that?
Hope someone can help me.

Lack of Knowledge an Universal Issue
And I don´t mean the Universal phone, I mean that everywhere is the same, customer support people (no matter what company or city in the world)knows nothing!! GPRS connection problems are becomming an issue and looks like the companies are not paying attention. My case is very similar, I have APN, username and password but I haven´t been able to open a single web page other than a search in google, of course no MS Messenger, Hotmail, GMail and nothing at all. I do have a GPRS connection although very slow (average of 5 Kbps!!) this makes that almost every application finishes timed out. I was able to trace my connection to known servers (yahoo, google, etc) and everything points out that the problem is a Movistar server in Madrid which IP address is 213.140.50.233
Hello, before that at all to greet yourselves and to congratulate yourselves on this forum.
To seeing if someone can help me with a problem that I have. Buy for ebay the new spv last week. During this week and detected that well when I call from the spv, or if I call the spv from another number, he(she) says to me that the mobil this one extinguished.
Nevertheless the pda marks his(her) coverage correctly, or says that there is coverage but you can neither make nor receive calls. Not only coverage marks, but mark that this connected to 3g or gprs.pero nothing.
This mistake is random. By snatches it(he,she) goes, by snatches it(he,she) does not go. It(he,she) does not fix up with soft reset.
The case is that I am llamdo to orange, and they say to me that they change the terminal, but for the repaired one, (position(place) to new) textual Words.
That opinais, sabeis in that been these terminals come?
Some solution for the problem of the telephone?
Thousand graces(thanks) in advance
Jordi

I'm not sure I fully understand.
Is the phone being blocked by Orange?
Is Orange saying you should get a new one from the place you bought it?

Telestial Global Explorer Pre-Paid SIM User Report w/ 8125
In the spirit of trying to give back to the community from which I have learned so much, I offer this review of my recent experience with a prepaid SIM on a business trip to Europe. I purchased this SIM through www.telestial.com, since I couldn't find any glaring negative reviews about the site (unlike GO-SIM). I also snagged a Vodafone SIM from them, since it offers GPRS service, but I won't get to try it out until next month.
Upfront Info:
• Using an unlocked AT&T (Cingular) 8125 w/latest Cingular ROM's (they are months old by now)
• Have never taken my 8125 to Europe before, but have travelled throughout Latin America with it.
o It's been a great world phone for me – after my hacks & customizations (MS VC 1.6 is key)
Positives/Comments:
• If the SIM doesn't work when you first install it, make sure that you have put it in correctly… haha (don't laugh, everybody does this once, right??)
• Estonian mobile number
o Folks calling you need to keep that in mind when they are estimating their calling rates
o For example, my brother can call German mobiles for $.30/min, but Estonian Mobile phones are $2.95/min !!
• Free incoming calls in most European countries – woohoo!
• Outgoing calls are usually about 35-50% of AT&T's preferred roaming rates
o Still not cheap, but paired with free incoming = Great deal
• You can enable auto-recharge on your account so you don't have to worry about running out of airtime
• Sep 2007: Travelled throughout Germany, Switzerland, Austria, & Luxembourg
o Great coverage; phone always picked a good, strong carrier
Don’t know how much of that was phone dependent though
• Also used an international callback service to reduce outgoing call costs a bit more ($0.10/min reduction on average vs. regular Global Explorer rate back to US)
o Provider: www.Gphone.com
o Piece of cake to use, but I thought their instructions were a bit confusing at first, especially when paired with the Global Explorer SIM.
o A typical call would occur like this:
Dial your Gphone access # in the US
Your phone will tell you to hang up
Wait a few seconds for it call back, and you answer
Wait a few seconds until it rings ONCE, then hang up
? Wait a few seconds for a call back from the Gphone service, then answer
Once you answer, then you follow the prompts to dial a number – whether it's in the US or international
o These nested callbacks were confusing to me at first, and for brief calls or for those made at 200+ kph on the Autobahn, probably aren't worth the risk/trouble
Negatives:
• Dialing out is a bit kludgey
o You dial the number, and the phone tells you to hang up
o You receive a callback and answer the phone
o Wait a few seconds (varies, but always <5), then your call starts ringing
• No GPRS data – major bummer, but I've been able to find lots of Wi-Fi hotspots
I bought faulty phone Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 with the broken screen. Earlier it was is locked on Vodafone. I couldn't test this phone as my Sim card doesn't belong to Vodafone. I replaced the screen and phone again works. It was Android 4.3. Then I bought NCK and DEFREEZE codes and made unlock. Then I made update (by air) and now it is unlocked Android 4.4.2. When now I dial number and press the Call button, then immediately call ends. The phone also does not send or receive SMS. Help me please.

What solution was found by your friend for this problem?
It seems to me that it is blocked by the operator, however IMEI and serial number are present at phone. Also it well is registered in any network with any SIM-card. But I can make only the emergency call 112.
Hi all,
I noticed a problem in my Nexus 4 - cannot make international calls (I dial the number, and then I immediately receive a "call ended" message without even a dial sound). No problem with local calls. I checked with my mobile provider and international calls provider and I'm open in their systems to dial internationally - so it must be something in the Nexus 4 settings - can anyone help? What should I change in my settings?
Thanks!

Are you on prepaid or postpaid plan? If you are on pripaid, you don't have enough credit to call abroad

Do you have the country code before the number? For example if you want to call to Norway from another country you need do write "+47" or "0047" before the telephone number.
Sure - 00-country code-number
Nobody encountered this problem? Nothing to change in settings?

No, have never encountered that before and can't really think of any reason for your problem either, sorry.
Do you have it activated by your carrier? Most require you to enable international calling. Doesn't cost anything. It's there as a safeguard.
I had a similar issue last week. I travel a few times a year internationally. I'm on AT&T and I purchase a passport plan prior to travelling to Europe.
I traveled to Germany in April. Phone worked fine I could SMS (using stock messaging app in android 5.0.1) and Called my wife's cell by just like I do here in the states.
Last week I was in Denmark. I could SMS my wife (who was in-country with me), but when I tried to call her phone it went to some voicemail and never rang her phone. I tried calling a colleague back in the states with a different area code and that call wouldn't even go through. I SMS messaged people back in the states, travelling in Austria, and travelling in Ireland as I would normally do when sitting at home with success.
There's definitely some goofiness going on. Not sure if it was the local carrier had some issue. But it's strange I could SMS with zero issues but couldn't make a call to the same contacts. Unfortunately, I never tried direct dialing using international codes, so I'm not sure if that would have worked.
As an additional piece of information my wife number is in the following format in my phone's contacts XXXXXXXXXX and the other colleague I tried to call was in (XXX) XXX-XXXX. I've called both in the past from Germany (and likely France) with no issues.
Yes - it's already activated. Thanks. Still don't know what's the problem.

I talked to an AT&T rep yesterday. According to her some towers/networks don't play nice with international phones and require you to manually dial the international code and such to make a call.
So, if you can't make a call like you normally do by going to a contact or something, she said try dialing the number manually with the country code and everything.
