I have the HUGE problems. Nobody in Spain knows how to set my o2 to work in the Internet using GPRS. I´m just a user. I asked the providers by their ****ing short number (It was vodafone) But There are no any specialists at this country. They can do NOTHING. They do not know anything. I asked everybody at different provider´s offices but I haven´t had the right answers. HELP ME PLEASE to SET MY O2 TO WORK WITH INTERNET IN MADRID.
They gave me different variants of "access point name", username, password and so on. But no one of their settings work. I´m ready to change my provider, that vodafon. I´m ready to do everything to get right settings to get to the internet. Help me please. I can not live without my mobility.
hola,
PROBLEM SPAIN
I WILL HAVE THE SOLUTION NEXT WEEK, IF THIS WILL REALY WORK IN SPAIN
what's the solution?, tell me please¡¡¡

Lack of Knowledge an Universal Issue
And I don´t mean the Universal phone, I mean that everywhere is the same, customer support people (no matter what company or city in the world)knows nothing!! GPRS connection problems are becomming an issue and looks like the companies are not paying attention. My case is very similar, I have APN, username and password but I haven´t been able to open a single web page other than a search in google, of course no MS Messenger, Hotmail, GMail and nothing at all. I do have a GPRS connection although very slow (average of 5 Kbps!!) this makes that almost every application finishes timed out. I was able to trace my connection to known servers (yahoo, google, etc) and everything points out that the problem is a Movistar server in Madrid which IP address is 213.140.50.233

no the wizard doesn't have a built in GPS receiver. THat is not to say that you can't get a bluetooth GPS receiver for it.
The Orbit does have GPS built in -> http://importgsm.com/product.php?productid=343&cat=0&page=1

Hello, before that at all to greet yourselves and to congratulate yourselves on this forum.
To seeing if someone can help me with a problem that I have. Buy for ebay the new spv last week. During this week and detected that well when I call from the spv, or if I call the spv from another number, he(she) says to me that the mobil this one extinguished.
Nevertheless the pda marks his(her) coverage correctly, or says that there is coverage but you can neither make nor receive calls. Not only coverage marks, but mark that this connected to 3g or gprs.pero nothing.
This mistake is random. By snatches it(he,she) goes, by snatches it(he,she) does not go. It(he,she) does not fix up with soft reset.
The case is that I am llamdo to orange, and they say to me that they change the terminal, but for the repaired one, (position(place) to new) textual Words.
That opinais, sabeis in that been these terminals come?
Some solution for the problem of the telephone?
Thousand graces(thanks) in advance
Jordi

I'm not sure I fully understand.
Is the phone being blocked by Orange?
Is Orange saying you should get a new one from the place you bought it?

hello I've been using the diamond(not the US 3G) for a while now. My edge (ATT) connections is the slowest thing ever. Also, when i'm using it (edge), i can't receive incoming calls or messages. i've used several roms but the problem (i think) is persistent. the speed of this connection makes it almost impossible to rely on my diamond for GPS use since i'm one of the fastest on the road, it just can't keep up updating the map. I would hate to have to carry two "expensive" phones in my pocket just for that.
that is my question (request), is to please help improve this connection.
or does it get better on the US 3G version (hopeful),
Merci.
An appeal to both the french and english society....help
Hi guys !
I have a small question, I have to go to Japan for 15 days, and I have 2 solutions to use a mobile there.

So, did anyone know if HTC Touch HD can be used in Japan, with a japanese EG SIM card ?
Thx by advance !!!

Actually, if you need a pre paid card, you don't really have choice, neither Docomo or AU is doing it !
The only problem with Softbank is that you have no choice you have to take a mobile with it ! here is the link
http://mb.softbank.jp/en/prepaid_service/
Concerning the docomo rental SIM, it usually more expensive !
But it all depends if you are planning to come often, I personally recommend the softbank solution, also even you leave the country for a year the number will be still active.
Anyway if you have more question, feel free to ask.
Enjoy !
Salut,
Sorry for my french answer.

Well, I sent an email to Softbank, and here is what they replyied :
We are afraid that we don't serve for Smart phone users such as iPhone, HTC Touch HD, and others due to high bill of date communication charges because we have had many customers who had a trouble using smart phone with our SIM card rental. In most of the trouble cases, those smart phones automatically synchronized the network without customer realizing it even it's turned off. Then the bill of internet use became unexpectedly high for customers.
Instead, we have 703SHf rental (phone with Sim card), and It may be more convenient idea for you. Please refer to the following for 703SHf.
703SHf (with Japanese number)
: 250yen per day (Web order Price!).
<Available to make and receive both domestic and oversea calls. SMS with
Japanese Softbank phones. MMS(e-mail)>
Call charge is 105yen per minutes to call all Japanese numbers (including toll free number) regardless of time and free for incoming call.
Also, the international SMS (GSMS) and international MMS (GMMS) are available if the receivers are our roaming partner, so please check our website for the service providers.

So, since my GF has a Softbank mobile, I ordered for a Jap phone, and I will try to use the SIM in my HD !!!
Hello!
I've a Tatto from december 09, I always had problems about signal reception.
I have done several tests, and in the same place with the same SIM the Tattoo is out of signal, whereas my N70 have full signal strength. In fact I can call with N70 but can't with Tattoo.
Many other users in italian forum have posted this problem.
Can someone give some help?
Many thanks to all!
Bye
same here! I need to go to a window or outside to talk...
same here. i can sit in one place, have reception one minute and then next i have none, i find it really annoying
I dnt get this problem. In fact my reception with the tattoo is very good. Could it be poor coverage from your provider?
Try to disable 3G, leave only plain GSM. Report if that helps.
Hello,
I try in optimal coverage condition...
I tried in 3G mode and GSM mode, with data connection and without data connection, with default phine settings after hard reset and with personalized settings, and so on...
Moreover, I compare the Tattoo reception with N70, and Tattoo went offline, but N70 had full strength signal (with the same SIM).
Moreover, when I stay outdoor or very near to a window Tattoo works with almost full signal, but when I keep away from windows 2 or 2 meters Tattoo goes offline.
I post this problem on italian forum (I'm in Italy with Wind operator), and many other users have this problem.
HTC support suggested hard reset, and I try several hard resets before I compare with N70.
I think that it's impossible N70 has full signal and Tattoo offline, in the same place with the same SIM.
I think that my Tattoo (and many others) have big big hardware problems, and HTC should make a recall campaign.
However, I are forced to use my old old N70 because Tattoo is useless.
Maybe I send for technical assistance, but other users had no result by this one.
I'm very disappointed by HTC and its "technical support".
If somebody has some hint... tnx
this weekend i went outside bucharest and in open land I was losing the signal, but after i chosed the network manually for about 2-3 minutes i had full signal but droping...
Same problem here in Spain with Orange operator...
Hello,
Today I have get my Tatto from assistance, within an envelop.
On this envelop there is two marks for repair operations:
re-calibrate
software update
I suppose they have recalibrate GMS/WCDMA module, but my Tattoo works exactly as before.
I don't know what they have updated: I have compare the old phone info with the new phone info, and they are exactly the same.
Well, what can I tell Htc Support? Good job boys!!!
I will buy a NOT-Htc phone...
However, if someone knows if it is possible recalibrate by firmware, it could be a chance...

I think they have updated nothing.
Hi, I've solved that problem by manually selecting the operator (you may do that under Menù -> Settings -> Wireless Control -> Mobile Network -> Choose an Operator). I've got 5 bars almost everywhere, except where I know I'll lose signal. More than that, calls are more clean and my 3G signal is working as expected (24/24 7/7).
I currently own a TIM SIM
whats difference - GSM or WCDMA ???
now set my operator manually, gonna see if anything changes...
is "enable always-on mobile" usefull/needed thing? What it does?
Whats "data roaming" ?

My Tattoo can't discover any operator in the same place Nokia N70 has full signal... I already tried your solution...
I sent Tattoo to repair centre for second time, and wrote to HTC telling my trouble. They replied that they contacted repair centre and are sorry for my problems with assistance.
I'm waiting, for news...
However tnx
Sounds like the problem is related to this Issue 2845 in Google Code's bug log for Android (unable to post link to being a new user).
Googling "After Losing Signal Phone Doesn't Try To Reacquire it" should lead you to it.
Various workarounds are listed:
1. Manually set your mobile operator.
2. Toggle Flight Mode on and off.
Well, I have sent two time my Tattoo for repair (43 days total without phone), I have sent several mail to HTC support, and they replied with "try on market to fond an app for you" about bluetooth file transfer,
but overall, HTC support doesn't know what tell me about poor signl reception.
My Tattoo works very bad, even after motherboard replacing...
I sent to HTC support a last mail where I asked for some solution for Tattoo problems and where I told that I can only start a legal action if no solution...
Read what replied HTC support:
Thank you so much for replying back. We do appreciate your offer, and we’re so happy that our customers are sending us their feedback and ways to enhance our devices. We do apologize for not helping you as expected. If you have any other inquiries, don’t hesitate to contact us again. Thank you once again for your continued patronage. Respect & Regards,
