It very probably is - if you've still got your paperwork that came with your phone, you'll see that HTC include a TWO year warranty, not one year! I'm in the UK too so I'm certain your warranty will be the same. And of course you can't have had your phone for longer than two years, yet.
I just realised this the other day when I found the phone's package when tidying, and as my phone's GPS hardware has stopped working, I am going to get it repaired under warranty. I asked T-Mobile (my network) today if they would honour the two-year warranty, and they said yes, and that they would arrange the repair (I thought I might have to go direct to HTC to claim the warranty after the first year).
+1 to that. Definitely 2 year warranty in the uk. Here's the number. 01753218960 I've sent numerous handsets to them with no paperwork or receipts and they always do the repair. Call them up. They're service is very good. DON'T send it through your service provider.

+2 24 months warranty in the EU. The manufacturing date is in the sn but no way that the DHD is 24 months old.

For real? I had no idea. That would save me making two trips to the T-Mobile shop (I'm TMO too).
I'm slightly concerned about the change of IMEI number if my mainboard is replaced. Has this been an issue when you've arranged your repairs directly? Because if it does change, T-Mo would need to have the correct IMEI number, wouldn't they?
So just phone them up and tell them or email them the paperwork that comes with the repaired phone.

Revert to stock. The number I left in my first post is a UK landline number. There's no freephone number.

ive found how to s-on again but can anyone help me find a stock wwe 3.0 rom i do have a download link to my old orange ruu
also people say rooting voids your warranty if i just install a stock ruu that would unroot but i would still have eng s off so wont i be able to claim a repair???
very confused right now :/
Flashing the stock rom will unroot. No need to to worry about the orange ruu. Just flash the wwe one. As long as you're s-on and unrooted you'll be ok.

Use the advanced ace hack kit.....I broke my phones screen and had to revert back to stock. The tool was easy to use and quick run the tool, choose 'radio s-on and flash stock ruu' I think there is an option to flash an orange ruu.....if not just flash the wwe one let it do its thing. Once its done it will reboot and u will be on stock rom with s-on etc. Then just search for an update through settings, there should be an update to official sense 3.0 download and flash that and your done!! Hit thanks if it helped you

I got a warranty replacement phone today and was wondering what were the odds they will give me crap if I send my previous rooted phone with S-ON back on, in for a warranty exchange. I had them send me another one since the phone would randomly turn off. If I'm not mistaken it did it before I rooted.
I had installed the unofficial T-Mo HTC 2.3 update and i wasn't able to get it back to 2.2.
If this is a problem, anyone know of a fix? I heard if you install the 2.3 u can't go back. I didn't see that until I did it. Or I wouldn't have done it. I don't think 2.3 caused the issues but who knows.
There is a downgrade available now, if you search in the dev section for the guide.

It's a crapshoot really, although since you're sending it to tmobile you have slightly better odds, but the fact is if they catch it with s-off then you'll get hit with the out of warranty fee. I hear a lot of people send them to tmobile with s-off with no problems, but there are some that got caught so question is: How lucky do you feel?

ICS just around the corner and GB is STILL not out!
Hopefully it will come with a new radio which can sort out my random battery drain problems.
Despite trying various radios, my battery seems to lose 3%+ per hour when sleeping so with very light use, a charge only lasts a little over 24 hours. I can only assume the problem is the radio as running Watchdog doesn't indicate that there are any rogue apps. I've tried recalibrating the battery to no end either.
As a matter of interest, which radio are other UK users trying at present? I'm currently on 1.77.30.

Exactly, ICS will be out for AT&T before we even get GB here in the UK. I reckon it could be a while yet as our respective service providers have to add all of their bloatware to it.

I haven't got a branded atrix so that shouldn't be a problem for me. But I don't know what I'm doing yet. Because if I restore my stock atrix I could potentially lose root and my unlocked bootloader. Meh the decision .....android is a God damn disease.....must have the new update!!!!! Lol

To be fair Orange dosent appear to have overly bloated it (for a change) Orange Wednesday and an account checker, however seeing as that is available on the market I cant see why it would be an issue, the only other thing I can see is the addition of AP's etc, but again that should all be automatic anyways.......
Orange always claim they need to test it with their network etc but I recon 2 or 3 weeks after it's released we ought to get it *he hopes*
i find it puzzling that the milestone 2 which is older than the atrix is getting the gb update at the same time. Great news for both of our communities. But time and time again...what the hell are Motorola doing with all there time???? lol
I put a question to Motorola via the facebooks, and they said the update will come out at the same time for orange / t-mobile branded phones as it does for unbranded phones.
Of course given the delays to date I suspect the mid-November date will slip, but we shall see
I've got a Tmobile UK Atrix which I've rooted , unlocked the bootloader etc....
Is it possible to get this phone back to a state where it can be upgraded or will I need to wait until somebody does their magic and creates a CWM image to flash?
I'm really unsure how this works as I've seen many warnings about NOT reverting to Froyo if running GB.
Has anyone tried this?
I'll believe it when see it -Moto talk a lot a Kak.
Roll on the Nexus & I can dump the Atrix

If it's a gingerbread rom flashed through recovery you should be fine. Its just the SBF file to be wary of. If you've flashed a gingerbread SBF don't flash a froyo SBF. or you will get a hard brick.

For sure you will loose Root access but you can get it again under Gingerbread.
Regarding the Bootloader I believe that it's a little bit different and I guess when you have unlocked it you can't go back!
If someone more confident can confirm?

FYI:
Retail update has been released today in the UK, and (if Motorola are to be believed) T-Mobile UK and Orange UK updates will be released within a week.
OTA servers are apparently running behind but updates can be updated using Motorola's Software Update software.

with luck Orange will have a working copy of "Your Orange" this time too....bloody thing tells me to update then I get "Package not signed" and their CS department are hopeless
Next week is better late than never I suppose
Orange UK update released via Motorola Software Update tool (v45.31.0)
I'm updating now..
Thanks for the heads up - I've just updated my sons Atrix & all went OK.
Seems to run fine on GB 2.3.4 although only tried for an hour or so as it's gone back in the box ready for Xmas

I know how you feel. The Atrix forum, I felt, was never the most helpful of places. When I had my htc DHD, that forum was much more helpful.
Anyhow onwards & upwards - My Nexus came the other day so my Atrix is gather dust, probably chuck it in the bin shortly.
In my time lurking, I've seen multiple people say they sent back rooted phones to T-Mo and it went unnoticed. This made me wonder if they actually checked or not so I just wanted to know your opinions. I'm starting to think that you could probably get away with it if you just flashed a stock Gingerbread rom. I'm starting to find it quite amusing.
hope
I hope not, that way I will be screwed if something happens to the phone, i dont think I even have warranty to begin with.
If Tmobile are clever they most likely to do check it
I had a friend who bricked their G2 using some sort of visionary root and they were able to get a new one via warranty.
I have sent back several rooted phones to various different companies under warranty and got new replacement phones without any hassle every time... touch wood hope that continues...
unroot if you have the time.

I've send mine back a while ago because the screen became black and wouldn't come up again. Was running Virtuous Unity at that moment but still they repaired the problem and didn't touch my custom ROM.
Maybe if it is a software problem the repair company investigates further what happened to it?

so what is the point of purchasing the "developer edition?" other than it being a 64GB device? this is totally effed...
You also get unbranded firmware and update quicker.
It is not designed for developing roms, it is designed for developing programs. Rooting and installing custom roms invalidates the warranty on any HTC one, including the dev edition.

Before I get my head ripped off asking what appears to be a silly question, what is S-off? I gather by your reactions the HTC One I bought on pre-order at the HTC.com website has a security feature that by default is turned on and not off? So what there is another layer of security that must be unlocked to flash custom ROMs? I'm putting my wife into this device given her line of work...medical migrating from Windows Phone 7.8 so forgive me if I am not entirely up to speed on all things Android. Thanks!

It is not required to flash custom roms. It is required to change certain items in the phone such as the country code. It is turned on by default until someone figures out how to hack the phone.

Most people don't need S-Off, it allows you to brick your device, and more importantly to relock it so that HTC don't know you've put custom ROMs on it for warranty purposes.
On the One X it would have been useful to flash updated firmware so that JB ROMs could be installed on carrier phones before the carriers bothered to get round to validating the update, but that's a fairly rare scenario.
It also allows you to flash different radios, but again, it's pretty rare that's required.
So yeah, other than those rare scenarios and AT&T phones who prevent the phone from being bootloader unlocked via htcdev.com, it's not needed if you just want to flash custom ROMs or lie to HTC.
I don't think flashing radios is a rare scenario... I've done it a dozen times on my One XL.
I want s-off to see if we can flash a T-Mobile radio on dev edition to enable all T-Mobile bands.

why do you need s-off? an unlocked HTC One with s-on still behaves like a nexus device. You dont need s-off unless you are modding your own radio images - which no one does.

This is not really achieving s-off, not through an exploit but via the official way htc can do it with a clean s58 diag file, no body who has it want to share it, htc forbids it and I think there might be sanctions if you do copy the file (these files might even be watermarked to trace leaks...)

but decided to keep this one, the only difference with retail end of March units is the C2_1 panel vs C2_2, and a hairline gap at the bottom but very sold fit
no biggie
i kept the S-OFF it's more free and special  the other unit was branded from Orange UK
I do agree however, S-OFF is no big deal unless you have branded or obscure unit and you want to change CID, personally i consider an S-ON CID_01 as the second best after super CID
