Hi Guys,
I have currently Flashed ICS Beta 6 release by Tytung its working great yet I cant upgrade it to Beta 7 it just continues in the boot up animation for 30 minutes until i turn it off and Task 29 and reinstall Beta 6,
I am wondering if wiping the Delvik Cache will do anything to fix this?
I have a Australian HD2 from the Telstra Network if this helps... (i only say this as i found problems flashing to begin with, telstra wanting to lock everything)
I am new into the developer scene and want to help, but i have to have minimal posts before i do anything hahaha

When your phone is booting, ta the home button. And your phone is enter to the cwm. So cwm support to clear Dalvik cache. Advance/wipe Dalvik cache. I'm using clk 1.3 now

when you get into magldr, select option nr 8, to get into CLM there is option to wipe dalvik cache. (under advanced)

Before your cLk boot loader boots, hold down the home key and go into CWM. once CWM is booted, volume down to advanced menu. Select wipe Dalvik Cache. then task 29 and reinstall everything. Beta 7 should boot then.
If you use MAGLDR with ICS your going to have problems. (if you don't have problems your lucky )
The scripts and things arn't really there for magldr.. the developers are recommending cLK. The reason is because of the connection differences.

So I rooted and switched ROM's many times on my MT3g, and now that i'm trying it on my MT4g, I'm having hella trouble.
So I got to S=off and its perarooted now, with ClockworkMod Recovery image: 3.0.2.4. I tried to update the Kernel to KB-Kernel-2.4.8-108-CFS-SV... put my phone with the stock ROM into a boot loop, so i restored it. Tried to update the Kernel then immediately install CM-7.0.0... again put it into a boot loop, and had to restore. What am i missing here? Should be partitioning like with my MT3g? Should i be wiping? Is there something else I should be installing?

That's your problem. You can't flash a kernel before the ROM, because the ROM's standard kernel immediately overwrites it. Try wiping all 3 items in the recovery menu, flash CM7, and then let it boot. Once CM7 is stable, try flashing your kernel. Just make sure it is compatible.
Sweet, thanks. Hopefully it works.

Wipe factory data
Wipe catche
Then go into advanced wipe dalvik
Should take 30 secs max to wipe, 5 mins max to install and reboot
Then flash your Rom and reboot. Once its rebooted then try flashing the kernel. There is no reason that won't work assuming you do have s-off

If what Mark said doesn't work, I'd look to a corrupt recovery image, or more likely a bad download or SD card.
Aww... I'd be hella sad if I had a bad sdcard. My problem was that I wasn't wiping the correct things, but now thanks to you great people I finally can flash again! Thanks!

Glad you got it working. If Mark or I have helped you, maybe you could hit the thanks button.
Make sure when you do a kernel you wipe cache and than davlvik and than flash the first time kernel and than repeat the process and than flash your desired kernel.

cwm7? Never heard that before.
If you know how to boot to ad recovery, that is, by pressing red/power button while phone is booting then choose Ad Recovery. Then choose wipe data and cache partition. This will restore back everything just like the first time you boot after installing the rom.
Again, wiping data and cache partition will delete all downloaded apps and user and syatem settinga. Be sure to make a backup.

First of all there are two versions. clk magldr. Make sure you're using the right one. Also make sure you have a recovery of at least 150 you can make bigger but not to exceed 200 I think. also do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache and them install rom. its not mandatory to have an external partition for this rom to work. You can also go to post #2 of the thread for more exact details

already tried doing all that step by step just how they asked me to install it but it installed like i said but once it loads and enters the main page there are errors after errors after errors its like the rom is corrupt or something. so tell me what else i can do?
Try to download the file again and reinstall or try to task 29 which wipes everything off your phone but not the sd card. Then install a fresh copy of magldr and repartition your phone again and try to install again. This is for installing the magldr version. I'm not experienced with clk. I just finished installing with no problem on magldr

HyperDroid 3.0 is only for cLK, it doesnt support MAGLDR (yet).
@OP : If you're trying to install it on MAGLDR I doubt it will work, even if it booted sure you will get force closes and whatnot.
Check the thread they just posted the magldr version. I'm running it right now that's why i'm asking to make sure you got the right version

Using MAGLDR v1.13 & CMR 3.1. I've tried to flash - NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta2 by tytung. I've wiped dalvik cache, wiped my data, & did a clean wipe of my SD card. I reboot into CWR in install & my phone keeps restarting. It never makes it to the boot animation screen. I've also had issues with a few other ROMs- But I'd rather focus on getting ICS on my HD2.
I'm using T-Moblie (US) HTC HD2
& I've followed the steps in the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354267
I'm still fairly new to XDA & just looking for some help to see if I've over looked something or need to go in a different direction.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
12-11-11 Flashed NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta5
1) Phone freeze/runs slow.
2) Occasionally restarts (often during sms)
3) Also G+ app wont update - Error Package file was not signed correctly
Any ideas?
Did you make sure to flash the correct system partition sizes? That was a problem I had one time, I forgot to do that step.
I've tried. I'm not sure how to check that I did it correctly. What steps/tools do I used to get that done?

Firstly, why are you using beta2 when latest is beta5? Not saying thats is the problem, just that don't see why you would want to use outdated version.
Second, Get HD2 Toolkit, it has easy to use tools to do everything you need to prep HD2 for flashing.
If you already have magldr just use the repartition tool after entering USB Flasher mode in magldr and then re-partition to needed sizes then flash rom using cwm.
I'm still downloading beta5 & before I try this again with the latest version I want to get it done correctly. Is the repartition tool within my already installed magldr or is it from the hd2 tool kit. I ask this because I'd need some help using the toolkit. I've tried to use the partitioning feature on there and that's where things would've went wrong.
Thanks

I flashed Quarx's CM10 ROM and it runs completely fine at first, but then when I reboot my phone it gets stuck at the splash screen and won't load the operating system. The only way I've found to fix it is to reset to factory defaults, which isn't really an ideal solution as I don't want to have to reinstall everything every time I reboot my phone.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do?
Bump
Just clear dalvik cache in custom recovery. You can find it in "Advance" menu. Dalvik cache has to be clean before first boot. You can wipe all caches just in case. After this try to reboot a couple of times to see if this issue persists.

I have cleared all caches and nothing has worked. I've left it to try and boot for at least an hour several times, but it just doesn't want to boot.
I'm only having this problem on CM10, by the way.. 7.2 still works.
Strange issue
Check after reboot in BootMenu (in 'boot' section) if it still boots in 2nd_boot and not in 2nd_init or normal. Normally if it boots in 2nd_boot at first, it should stay in 2nd_boot.

It boots into CM10 then I when I restart the phone it gets stuck on the splash screen again.
And what happens when only format to ext4+ cache wipe(no wipe data).
Also cm10 for me sometimes hangs or boot loops on first run, removing battery and powering up manually fixes the issue

Yeah, that's right. It's really weird, though.. because CM7.2 works flawlessly.
Really very weird. Does the booting problem occur even if you make no changes to the filesystem and simply reboot after first flash?
You can also try a sbf flash, though it probably won't help much
