I have a problem for a few months wit my Defy (green lens). Digitizer dont work on left side (10mm by line!). I have at home another digitizer, it is broken, but worked a long time ago perfect. So the digitizer problem is excluced. I tested the phone with lot ROMs (stock froyo, MIUI, Defy+ ROM-s). But the ROM swap is not solve my problem.
I think so, that is a calibration problem. What is to be done?

Hey guys,
I just ended up with a g1 for a good deal. Only problem is that the touchscreen has a problem were it will shake back and forth between screens. I mean If im on the home page, and i slide it left or right to the other pages. It dances between the 2 for a couple for a seconds. Also I cant touch anything in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. So that brings me to my question. Since the glass is intact, that would mean that the digitizer is busted? As you may have noticed I really dont know. But if anyone could offer any help in my direction because I'd like to fix this myself. As Always...

As for me, this problem started when i`ve replaced the digitizer with a new one. It seems exactly the same as you described. I`ve noticed, that it dissapears temporary when i block the device (power button) and unblock it again. But sooner or later it appears again.
I suppose it is some internal bad contact in connection or in a flexcable of touchscreen.
However, not solved this problem yet.
Seems to be that i found a solution at least for my G1. I`ve installed a new CyanogenMOD 6.1.0-RC1 (i had 6.0.0 previously) - and the problem is not appearing for at least 2 hours!
I suppose it is somehow related with software handling of touchscreen taps.

I open this thread because I've got a bad issue with the nand rom just flashed on my HD2 MDJ's CyanogenMod7 (v2.6) A2SD+
In fact, sometimes, the screen seems to be "fool", it is shacking left to right, randomly even I don't touch the cell phone
I hardly suspect the accelerometer... I have deactivated the auto screen rotation and the haptic feedback but I have the same problem.
Before flashing this nand rom I was on Pyrana V11 nand rom winmo and I never experimented this sort of bug.
Is someone else have the same problem ? A solution to fix this issue ?

I'm running the same NAND rom on my HD2 and I haven't had that problem.

This is very strange. Never have this problem on windows mobile before. I remember that I have tested another CyanogenMod but on sdcard this time and I was having the same issues with the screen who is doing stuff "alone" !
I have a screen protector but I'm not sure that is the guilty. That's a pity because the MDJ's CyanogenMod7 is very fast and stable, just this problem poisoning me
Will continue to search for a solution (maybe the screen is too sensitive and it can be set...).

Seems that my problem is solved.
I realized that I use an extra battery (2400mAh) with the HTC HD2 and that kind of battery is bigher than the original one and needs an extra battery cover (plastic one).
By looking the original cover in metal, I saw two points on it. These two points seems to do contact with two mini balls behind the cell phone (to avoid electrostatic discharges ???). So, the cover of the extra battery doesn't do the contact on the two balls.
So, I simply exchanged the two batteries and take back the original one with her original metal cover and now : NO PROBLEM AT ALL !!!
Right now the screen stopped to do things without any touch with fingers and it is totally well reacting
I hope this thread could help some people who are in the same case.

Hello, since yesterday I started having problems with the touch screen ... to see if I can explain what is going right....
I can not write using the "q", "t", "f", "v" and "shif" and everything else that stands in (and this I presume) two vertical stripes where the touch does not seem work ...
Anyone else had this problem and knows how to solve it, or do I have to send the phone for warranty?

have u tried to install a diferent keyboard app? or maybe clean data from original keyboard app?
yes i had miui installed when it occured then i've downgraded for official 2.3.5 and the problem remains...

Had a similar problem on mine, the right 1cm of the touch screen didn't work. I replaced the touch screen, problem solved.
I recently bought a new screen glass touch digitizer for my Defy (because the old one was destroyed) and I try to replace it.
I follow the instructions and i think I have connected with success the new touch digitizer with the motherboard, but when I turn on the phone it doesn't working. No touch response. It seems like it isn't connected and is very strange :S
I wanted to ask if this problem might be caused becase I am on CM10. If i flash stock sbf would be this fix the problem?
Looking for some suggestions or ideas how to fix this please.

Yes, the old one is "working"... how can I test if the new one is broken? I can't see anything strange on it :s
I also had to replace mine. Also in CM10 and it works. The screen is a capacitive screen. This means that capacity across the contacts changes as you touch it so you can in theory measure it with a capacity tester (e.g. a multimeter). Problem is practice. You'd need to find a connector to attach your multimeter. Quite impossible. As the screen cost me just €5 I'd suggest go and buy another one and see if that works.

Hi all, unluckely I had the dead zone problem with my G2 and I replace the digitizer with a new one but after a couple of weeks the same thing happen to the new one. I tried to play a bit with the connection but know I have no more touch on the screen. possible problem with the logic board any one got a solution for this or the G2 is lost forever. My main problem is, is it the logic board or the flex cable, by the way the flex cable was bought new also.
not to forget that everything else work.

Are you on custom rom bro? i have the same problem and only experienced it when i changed to custom rom (icex) from stock rom.
