I am running Darlin's nook version of CM7 and I'm wondering if i revert back to rooted 1.3 and the auto update brings me to 1.4 will I still be able to flash back to CM7 using rom manager/clockwork mod after the update. Any input will incur many thanks.

Currently I'm running andromeda rom with 2.2.4 root, with Di07 and 2.6.29 kernel; which I believe is stock. Now if it wasn't stock would it have a different # or is the andromeda a whole nother kernel?
if your running the anromeda rom it comes with a different kernal. got menu>settings>about phone and build version will tell yuo what kernal you are running
So if I restore back to my first backup when I still had D27, then unroot, I should be able to update, then flash the andromeda kernel again and keep the update right?

Your gonna have to flash the stock rom and kernal than update. You shouldn't have to remove root

hi
I was using 2.3.4 full flash with successful overclock in CWM
Now after trying 2.3.6 and going back to 2.3.4 I have lost the settings in CWM
The phone is running at 1000mhz but I cannot adjust.
Please point me in the right direction
Thank you!

Hello. Can i install wajku normal or ICS version on my cm7 without multiboot? If i install ICS version will i lose my warranty?
I dont understand your question installing cm7 you actually losed your warranty, you can back flashing a full sbf
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
I know i can get my warranty back... but can i get it back by RSD Lite when i install WajkIUI ICS or Stable?
Yes, you cant downgrade only flashing a full sbf with a higher cg ver, flashing via cwm you can back
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
So one more time ( I dont know english so good ) If i install WajkIUI 2.1.6 i can go back with RSD? And can i install this ROM via 2ndinit without flashing back to froyo?
And What if i install 1.12.16 WajkIUI ICS rom?
Yes, just wipe data and cache in stable recovery and flash WajkUI, i didnt tried ICS version, but i think is the same if the ics zip include the gb kernel, do a backup before flashing wiui, then you can back to cm7
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
Ok thx for answer. What should i use for backup?
If you want to back to cm7 after installing wiui or if something goes wrong you can flash again cm7 after wiping data and cache and dalvik and then restore via cwm the backup and you will have the cm7 exactly it was before flashing wiui!

Ok I Backup by cyan recovery Thx for help!
Hi guys,
Just a quick question. I'm currently running flexreaper custom rom on my acer a 500. In order to get the official update to ICS via OTA do I have to switch back to a generic rom? If yes a guide would be great.
Thank you,
Dec

My understanding is that you need to have the stock (ie original) recovery on your tab. In other words, not Clockwork recovery. I tried to d/l and install the ICS OTA but it failed, as I had CWM on the tab. Flashed a stock recovery and all installed fine afterwards. Hope this helps.
Hey,
I need some assistance with updating my Taboonay 2.0 (HC 3.2) A500 to ICS (i prefer stock)
The device is rooted and has some old version CWM installed.
OTA obviously doesn't work...
What should I do and where do i start?
Thanks!

if youb prefer stock flash a stock rom and get the ota
If you want to go back to stock, install one of the ROMs from here.
If you want to update to a newer custom ROM, then you will most likely have to unlock your bootloader. I think you have to install a newer stock ROM first though. This thread has a guide to unlock the bootloader.
Thanks,
I just flashed a stock ROM and did the OTA update, worked perfectly!
