Hello. Can i install wajku normal or ICS version on my cm7 without multiboot? If i install ICS version will i lose my warranty?
I dont understand your question installing cm7 you actually losed your warranty, you can back flashing a full sbf
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
I know i can get my warranty back... but can i get it back by RSD Lite when i install WajkIUI ICS or Stable?
Yes, you cant downgrade only flashing a full sbf with a higher cg ver, flashing via cwm you can back
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
So one more time ( I dont know english so good ) If i install WajkIUI 2.1.6 i can go back with RSD? And can i install this ROM via 2ndinit without flashing back to froyo?
And What if i install 1.12.16 WajkIUI ICS rom?
Yes, just wipe data and cache in stable recovery and flash WajkUI, i didnt tried ICS version, but i think is the same if the ics zip include the gb kernel, do a backup before flashing wiui, then you can back to cm7
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
Ok thx for answer. What should i use for backup?
If you want to back to cm7 after installing wiui or if something goes wrong you can flash again cm7 after wiping data and cache and dalvik and then restore via cwm the backup and you will have the cm7 exactly it was before flashing wiui!

My defy was using cm7 2.3.7. Then I flash the new ICS rom(7-12) and then (23-12), so it is a gingerbread kernal. So when I hope to flash a ICS rom with froyo kernal, do I have to wipe data or is this a must? Thank you
Hello,
I have installed CM7 for Defy(not plus) in my cellphone perfectly.
So then, I found the CM7 Defy+ nightlys and I'm trying to install it. But when I install the ROM on it and reboot, it stays in the initial logo forever.
Could you help me?
Best regards.
please help
Try another rom, like MUIU or any other rom and see if the start loop is overcome.
Did you wipe the memory after?
If you want to instal defy+ nighties, you first have to flash the gingerbread kernel. (CM9kernel.zip)
So now flash the stock ROM and start again. You probably downgraded to instal three normal defy nightly do you have to flash a defy+ ROM with the same bl nr. After that root instal 2nt... and flash the defy+ nightly (and wipe). If you want to be able to switch, you will have to flash the downgrade sbf again and flash the CM9 kernel. Then you can switch with just flashing the kernel and ROM (sbf wipe)

Do cm7 nightly have these fixes? I'm running nightly now and camera seems ok, but I don't know yet about the battery.
Hi,
How I can downgrade cm7 from cm9? Normally wipe data&cache and then flash cm7? i haven't backup.
thank you
It depends on which version you're running, if you're using the gingerbread kernel with cm9 then you can't downgrade until you get the froyo kernel. anyway let's assume you have froyo running then a simple full wipe and choose the ROM you want and flash. if you have the gingerbread kernel just full wipe choose the ROM and flash it like before, but you have one more step find the zip with the froyo kernel and flash it right after the ROM.
If you can't be bothered with all the just use a full sbf and start clean from rsdlight.

I was running a red lens defy running CM7.1.
I made a nandroid backup then then upgraded to CM9 and flashed the GB kernel.
I found CM9 too slow so booted into CWM and tried to restore my nandroid backup, unaware I also had to restore the kernel etc. from the advanced menu.
I understand I now need a SBF to restore my phone before I can root, install cwm and get to my nandroid backup.
Do I need a gingerbread SBF to do this? I tried a froyo one but it hangs on the moto logo.
All help appreciated!
You no longer have boot menu and cwm?
Do not flash any GB one. You can just go back to your original froyo version by flashing full sbf. For the list of sbfs check the thread from Walter79 in sticky threads of development section.

The gingerbread kernel u used on the defy isn't the same as the one on the defy + stock firmware. The kernel u used on the defy is a fixed sbf which is an original gingerbread sbf but with some modifications that allow you to downgrade to froyo.Normally if you recieve an official update from froyo to gingerbread on your phone you will never be able to downgrade. What fixed sbfs does is preserve ur downgradeability and are made from official sbfs and compiled by xda devs.
So in your case, since you have a defy,i would suggest you to flash with a stock sbf,the froyo one,ie the last official update your motorola came with.you can find that in xda forums. If not reply back with your country and carrier and i will help you
Hi guys,
I accidentally installed GB kernel (2.6.32.9-ge281b6e) on my DEFY (not defy+), when I wanted to try the new CM9...
I really liked ICS but I don't like the fact that the camera is unusable and the battery is leaking really fast. (maybe because of the kernel)
Is there any way I can downgrade the GB Kernel?
Thanks.
Nikola
did u just flashed the small CM9 kernel?
I had cm7 and wanted to instal the cm9.
I went to a thread and downloaded the GB kernel installer (cm9) and installed it from recovery, than the CM9, rebooted and... no return?
Mhhh sounds good. Try to flash the cm9 file again?

Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before and after the flash? If you haven't, this is the most probable reason for the bootloop. Wipe them now and reboot - you should be fine now. And yes, you can always downgrade kernel, as long as you don't flash a full sbf with higher CG39.smg version.
Sry guys i havent made myself clear enough ... The phone is working fine... But no camera and battery is leaking really fast. Im not stuck in the boot phase aka bootloop... The phone has GB kernel..how to downgrade the kernel?
Just flash CM7 kernel and then a CM7 ROM. Done.
