Hey,
I need some assistance with updating my Taboonay 2.0 (HC 3.2) A500 to ICS (i prefer stock)
The device is rooted and has some old version CWM installed.
OTA obviously doesn't work...
What should I do and where do i start?
Thanks!

if youb prefer stock flash a stock rom and get the ota
If you want to go back to stock, install one of the ROMs from here.
If you want to update to a newer custom ROM, then you will most likely have to unlock your bootloader. I think you have to install a newer stock ROM first though. This thread has a guide to unlock the bootloader.
Thanks,
I just flashed a stock ROM and did the OTA update, worked perfectly!

The title pretty much says it all. Once you downgrade to root can you reapply the 8.2.3.13 firmware?

Once you're rooted, you can flash any ROM that has root.
If you update using a non rooted ROM you will loose root.
At this point however if you downgrade to root, flash a 3.1 ROM instead of just going back to .13

No you wont. If you want stock 3.1 you need to go back. Or you can just flash one of the non leaked 3.1 roms using cwm
so if i flash with cwm when its done will i have an un rooted offical 3.1 update

If you are stock (non-rooted), then you have to wait.
If you want to root, and install a backup manager (CWM or RA) then you can flash a stock rooted 3.2.1 Rom, or a custom 3.2.1 Rom.
i know that i just want to know if i can update my device without rooting or wait for acer to wake up
I wont to keep it stock for now
No I believe your stuck then until Acer gives an ota one srry
What do we have to do before flashing official ICS?
In my case, I am with rooted 3.2.1.. can I update without risk? or I have to downgrade and install official (non-rooted) 3.2.1?
Also, I have deleted some stock apps, is there gonna be any problem with that?
Thanks.
Same question here , I have read in other post that if I have CWM installed there could be some problems with the update.
I'm running a rooted stock rom 3.2.1 too, So can anyone of you upload an ICS rooted stock rom to install it by CWM?
Thanks in advance!

I'm also a little confused. I just installed stock unrooted rom from acer recovery and tried to do the update but it failed. Any pointers?
Hi guys,
Just a quick question. I'm currently running flexreaper custom rom on my acer a 500. In order to get the official update to ICS via OTA do I have to switch back to a generic rom? If yes a guide would be great.
Thank you,
Dec

My understanding is that you need to have the stock (ie original) recovery on your tab. In other words, not Clockwork recovery. I tried to d/l and install the ICS OTA but it failed, as I had CWM on the tab. Flashed a stock recovery and all installed fine afterwards. Hope this helps.
