hi
I was using 2.3.4 full flash with successful overclock in CWM
Now after trying 2.3.6 and going back to 2.3.4 I have lost the settings in CWM
The phone is running at 1000mhz but I cannot adjust.
Please point me in the right direction
Thank you!

got a galaxy few days ago and rooted it on the second day.i used super one click root and i had superuser.but i wasn't satisfied with eclair so i used odin and updated the firmware to 2.2 XWJPA.
my kernel version says [email protected] #1
does this mean i still have root?after updating to 2.2 i cant see superuser app anymore so i have tried using the same utility to root again but the prosess gets stuck in installing superuser.
what should i do to get root?
sorry if this is a stupid question
Firstly make sure you have 3 button recovery dont flash anything without this and secondly i have the same firmware as you and all you need to do is flash another kernel. I flashed CF-Root v1.2 kernel from this forum and it worked a treat. search for [30.10.10][CF-Root v1.2] JPH JPK JP6 JPM JPA JPO - superuser+busybox+2e, CWM compat!
goodluck
Yea i checked it before and i have the 3 button config.
thanks for the quick reply
let me know how you go, when i flashed a dif kernel i then used oclf which is 100% campatable and installed touchwizGTG launcher also from the forums and it is smooth and stable.. Happy days
Hi,
Noob couple of questions, my apologies.
My nexus S has GRH78C firmware but I see other posts on here regarding a version ending in 40.
Is there a specific version of 2.3.3 I need or are they the same ? (if so a link would help )
Also, can I root 2.3.3 using the superboot method ?
Cheers

if you have clockwork mod use this as a restore and you will have a rooted 2.3.3 its the easiest way to do it.
http://www.mediafire.com/?c1ww7zb837uycbk
just unzip and put the backup folder in your clockworkmod recovery folder boot into recovery and restore 2.3.3 takes 2 minutes and you will boot up with a rooted 2.3.3
Worked a treat... Thanks very much
No problem

I am running Darlin's nook version of CM7 and I'm wondering if i revert back to rooted 1.3 and the auto update brings me to 1.4 will I still be able to flash back to CM7 using rom manager/clockwork mod after the update. Any input will incur many thanks.
Hello everybody
I had to format my SD recently so I lost backups of official 2.3.5 I made before So is there anybody who could please send me a CWM backup of official 2.3.5 for U8800 so I can restore it?. Right now I am stuck with custom ROMs which are all very buggy and have poor battery life
Cant you just te install it? It is propably faster, and it doesnt have custom settings others have done.

I can but if I do then I have to root it again, change recovery and do all this stuff + I already bricked my phone once when installing official update so I am afraid of doing it again
You will have to do that.
i need it to cuz as all forums know that i have proplem with USB so i cant rooting 2.3.5 so pls some one share pre rooted backup with cwm so i can have the new kernel
thanks
Hi, I recently tried updating to the 4.2.2 via a custom recovery (CWM). I was on matrix v5 custom kernel so i flashed to stock kernel. I made a nandroid backup before i flashed the stock kernel. I went ahead and updated and it removed my root and custom recovery, so i re flashed CWM via adb and restored to my nandroid backup9i know i could have just rooted again, but i just wanted to see if there were any big changes in 4.2.2, like otg support).
The problem starts here, my N4 wont rotate, or do anything where the sensors are needed. The phone was working properly at the time of the nandroid backup so its not anything i did before. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you

This has already been answered...I dont have a link but keep looking through this forum and you will find a fix. Unfortunately if I flash a 4.2.2 rom and flash the fix it seems to break wifi....Im sure it will be resolved soon.

EDIT: Fixed. I reflashed 4.2.1 from stock then rooted etc. Then flashed the 4.2.2 update. Everything works properly now.
Just to add something incase other look through this: The 4.2.2 update needs the updated baseband.
From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37977813&postcount=3:
4.2.1 Baseband = M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.33
4.2.2 Baseband = M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.48
Not Compatible - 4.2.2 Baseband With 4.2.1 Rom - Reportedly breaks sensors.
Not Compatible - 4.2.1 Baseband With 4.2.2 Rom - Reportedly breaks in-call audio.
