feels a lot smoother now. But still no contacts sync for ICS! That's the only thing I want.
The UI has been greatly improved. Notifications are still slow to push and are quite unreliable. RAM usage is insanely high. I've seen it at 59MB. It hovers around 50MB
Wow
Just got the update this morning... Let's hope it isn't as stupid as the last version. I was trying to check my messages on FB and it kept showing the loading blob and then blanking out. I switched over to WiMax and it still did the same thing.... (I was thinking it was a bandwidth issue)
Looks good lets hope it lives up to the hype here.
This update is wonderful & faster.
Too bad it still follows Apple's facebook design. They should really work on making a separate UI for droid. =/
Its finally a decent Facebook app. Only took them over 3 years to get it right.

Why would they do this? Also it is "Android", and it isn't "Apple's Facebook design". It is how Facebook feels their application should be designed.
There would be no major benefit that I can see if both the iOS and Android versions had different user interfaces. I actually prefer it this way. iOS applications tend to be better looking than Android ones.

I was wrong. I see it takes up to 65MB of RAM

Sorry about that done.
I say it again...... Support the dev instead of Starbucks. Think about it, Starbucks coffee is more expensive than the cost of the apps and roms these people develop .................."some people's kids"..................
Adw ex is definitely worth the money. I never liked adw until now.

dayum since people said ex is better, i tested it out, dayum it feels fast!!!!!!!
I wish it didn't lag with lwp

I bought it (I have also bought the Notifier in the past as well...have no intention as of now to buy/use any themes though). I would prefer if the app were closer to the $2 range, but I can't stand the Samsung TW and don't really like LP and I've used ADW since it was integrated into CyanogenMOD [this was on my G1], so I felt it was worth supporting AnderWeb and giving him a couple bucks. It's really not that much money & he's currently unemployed so it'll help him out [according to his twitter]. Since this app is the core of the phone, and I use it everyday and it ensured a good experience, I felt it was worth the ~$3.50
Ex works great on my Vibrant and (with different settings) great on my G1 as well, couldn't be happier, I can understand pirating the app before buying (I did) since 15 minutes is NOT enough time to set this up, but that's a google problem, not an ADW problem and XDA is not the place for such talk. Either way though, if you've used ADW.Launcher in the past, you pretty much know what to expect.
The only thing I don't like about the app is that you can't just import your ADW stuff. You can export the settings and rename the file to match the EX expected name, but some settings cause it to error out (things like long pressing the desktop would not bring up any options). I was able to import (by renaming the files) the ADW desktop configuration, which was good enough for me (just make sure that you have the same amount of screens set up as you want to restore).
Support the dev, buy the app.
Here are my ideas for the new rom that is due for today.
It should be
Gingerbread 2.4
Use less memory
Have carrier iq in it
Have better battery life
Close all security holes so rooting will not be possible which mr no more needs for security programs like norton

No this is not a joke. Another thread said their is a new rom due today which means we get it in about 20 days as the ec05 was given to me on the 25th which is 20 days after ec05 was done.
I also want honeycomb and ice cream sandwhich and am loving the google overlords are clamping down on the device makers as the only thibg that should be different are the look of the phone like how evo 4g looks different from a sprint epic 4g. Otherwise then all should be the same including hardware. Also once google updates specs like nexus to nexus s then no more updates for the old hardware like microsoft does. Also then all old hardware would need to be returned to google for recycling and then we would lease a new model that gives the google way of life. Google users sould also be even more of a cult then apple is.

The closer and closer we get to the Unpacked event we get to see their sweets. Either way the UI is nice and I hope they changed the media player and Music
I found this about a half hour ago, saying that and Samsung are going to postpone http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolo...d-Google-cancel-Nexus-Prime-phone-launch.html unpacked.
Saw the video and I really really like the UI a lot!! Hopefully the prime will go to tmobile in December or even January, hope it does.... I prefer this because it will be the latest and the greatest smartphone with its non-capacitive button design and latest OS..
if that's real, it looks alright. though, i'm surprised at kernel 3.0.1. the switch to 3.0 was just over two months ago, so it would surprise me to see it on android already (considering Ubuntu is still on 2.6.38 and Fedora is using 2.6.40, i would think the full linux distros would be changing the kernel version to 3.0 before android).
Hopefully with Google improving Androids UI, less manufacturers would mess with it.
^^ the manufacturers will always have their own signature of android launcher to differentiate their devices from the rest.. I don't mind it at all as long as they make the UI better and add useful functionality into it..
Is ICS gonna be 2.4 or 4.0?
I just wish that manufacturers would make their launcher work like any other third party launcher instead of integrating it like they do.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If it's a straight Google phone, won't the launcher be ICS stock?
Just something I noticed. Where is the "battery use "in the settings?

I think the fonts are better than current Android versions, but I'm not that impressed.
It's still asking for OEMs to molest it, as well, which is unfortunate.
Not enthused.

Oh hell yeah can't wait to get the Multi window feature.
.
.
Well, if they're testing it is because it's possible. I've seen the old SGS1 doing SO much even with that severe lack of memory, i reckon 1Gb is more than enough to do everything if well coded. I'm guessing it's just easier for samsung to add more ram than waste time in optimized coding and probably was a bit overboard hence the actual memory "problems". That and poor ram managing, my phone just seems to kill any process if the screen goes off after a while (it's a pain to download any game's extra data after installing, phone just cuts it off)
Anyway, this is wonderful news, thank you. Can't wait

believe me, when we'll have it, it'll post.
finger cross it'll be on final version as well.
I hope there will be a leak and then i can try to port it to the i9305
Yeah, right. I believe it when I see it, and a possibly photoshopped picture isn't valid proof.
the ****ers decided to make it as a closed beta only for those who bought their phone directly from them.

This is what I want. For example, say it's NFL Sunday. I want to check the scores for all the games, not add all the teams as my favorites and rely on notifications for the scores.

Yep, pretty much. Wear is capable of a lot but the app devs don't really seem to care about making new or further developing current apps to support it.

I think it's just the lack of people really wanting/needing these smartwatches that is the main problem right now. Therefore leading to lack of dev support as you said because what's the point if not many people are even using it. Hopefully it picks up though. With the addition of the apple watch, and the moto 360 v2 soon to be out I think, hopefully it brings more attention to this area of devices. Problem is, not one watch out there has proven that smartwatches are needed at this point in time. Not even the apple watch. I'm sure what it is that would make these needed by people but hopefully some company can determine what it is.
Is this the sort of thing you all were looking for?
