I scanned through the review of this latest issue of smartphone essentials in a local supermarket. "Also this month we review the Samsung Galaxy S II and ask, “Is this the best smartphone ever?”

I really dont see the big deal about MIUI, it just looks like the same old same old with even moar glass effect!

Also, its a fantastic phone

Reviewers still haven't figured out that holding the menu button brings up search. This is the case with Galaxy S 1 as well. How do people with such limited technical knowledge get these jobs?

Oh look, here's the reviewer.

Come on already who cares about gingerbread? Ics is the new flavor fav of the month

Let's face it once google announced the ics as the next version of android why do some people still want gb when ics can be leaked and used on our phones. Google needs to be the one doing the updates not the carriers and phone makers. Google should open a beta and prebeta builds to all who want them.

For someone who's been around since the 70's you seem to not understand the development life cycle of a product to be expecting such an asinine thing to happen.
Using win7 (retail) to win8 (alpha) argument proves your failure to grasp that.

Because to us Gingerbread is the most important release ever! Gingerbread was made with Hummingbird in mind..ICS is a huge improvement for dual core phones..while we definitely get some new features, you would not notice such huge performance increases as you do with Gingerbread.

Seems kind of fishy, considering there are only 23k fans of the page. With 2 million phone sales you'd think there would be more. But then again, big companies like to take down unathorized FB pages that could do the brand damage. Seems like a weird way to spill the beans though

Yes, but announcing the next version of a product a few months after the first version has been released will destroy the first version's sales... It's like Apple releasing the iphone 4s, then 2 months later revealing the iphone5 with much better specs. Who is going to want to get locked into a contract when they know the bigger and better is coming out a year later?

FAKE for sure. The graphics are terrible; they've been copied from the web somewhere in low res, probably converted to jpg and modified. Look at the white space around the pics; it's full of pixelated artifacts. Total amateur fake.

Apparently, they need forgot the note can have 64 gb external sd card added to fit the most 150gb entries collected... Why they hand picked 60 entries to fit the tablet, someone hasnt done their homework on external memory capabilities.... Oh well I guess its a start.

I think this will make UK get the updates first , the queen needs 4.2 soon

our device will get 4.2 before 2014, if we are lucky, knowing samsungs update policy, 4.3 never

i doubt our devices would get it but if there's a chance, its going to take samsung a long time for that update

the s3 mini will end ( just like the s2) with android 4.2.2 Samsung is still testing but we will get it the around end of this year

One of the reasons my next phone will most likely be a Nexus. Hate the lack of support or slow support from manufactures...

the one thing that puts me off of a nexus device the screen size
the next thing that puts me off is the method to unlock and root the device
