Go to x8toolbox by puppet13-th in this forum.:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117100
There is a test. You can test if you have Cypress or Synaptics.
Then install the module, it does the install automatically.

What the *BEEEP!*, Look at the Sony V630i(Old phone) if you flash it an custom W660 Rom it can use Flash, and it's an old phone, and the X8 can't do it??? COME ON!!!
Are you sure that W660 supports Flash? AFAIK it has only old FlashLite...
x8 only supports FlashLite
I think X8 need a big screen...

I have the xx15 baseband.. its still not work.
so in stock rom, where did u find its working.
it fail on dmesg | grep X8Gesture.
fail on multitouch visual, maps, galery, browser, angry bird.
i have e15a 2.1.1.a.0.6 baseband xx15
installed it using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=985316 post nº2
whatever i do x8gesture doesn't work for me
anyway thanks you all
It doesn't work in stock browser but will work on opera/angry birds etc. I'm talking about stock rom. This is not real multitouch, it's fake, so you have to do it like in the video put one finger and then the second and it will work, also you should put the second finger oposed to the first and not in a straight line.

So, me too..but now I have CM7.1. It 's nice.
are there any stable rom which has a tun.ko included in it??
ouch! no answers yet..
What the hell is that?
Hi codfreak
that is the driver for tun devs, that is used for VPN. I guess a ROM or a tun.ko compiled for the original 2.1 should be enough.
I'm also quite interested, any answer?
Many thanks

Hi
Many thanks I finally found one in the xCyanogenShakira - gingerbread - v3 mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044876
just downloaded the mod, went to /system/lib/modules and copy the file in my X8. Tweak the settings in the "openVPN settings" to use insmod and look for the tun.ko in the appropiate folder and that's all.
A little bit slow to be honest but at least it works
rgds
actually you can use it in any ROM. I think you are looking for tun.ko that works in x8. Attached is the file your looking for. Just put it in /system/lib/modules
Hi deedii
Many thanks, it looks like the very same file (at least in size!)
Are you using it with FroyoBread? I'm thinking about using Froyo instead of the original ROM......
Thanks again
Yup im using it. It works in any rom.

I've done alot with my x8 root new rom GingerDX,that v004 ( i think it's linux kernel or so ) dual touch thingy is working 2 but i can't manage to overclock cpu more than 600 i followed overclock post located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313
Im not that much noob ( ive done all other things from first try )
x8oc.ko is in /system/lib/modules
And i attached my hw_config.sh
Any kind of help is most welcome tnx in advance
<3
Welcome on XDA You have to use stock kernel if you want overclock. Or change kernel to FXP 028. Then install module and find SetCPU, it's free for xda users, and set yours oc value. Good luck.

Yes. This should work. I'm not 100% certain, because I don't use oc and FXP but I think that you should try

New problem i flashed that kernel and phone can't go further than boot animation(that blue circle sparkle gingerdx thingy).... When i flashed back to that linux kernel phone turned on normaly.
Do you have link or advice which kernel should i use or try with?
IMO for oc the best way is to use stock kernel and modules.

Hi,
I've never flashed this phone so I don't know how to do it.
I want to install this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486
I have SE Xperia x8
Model num: E15i
Stock Android version 2.1-update1
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build Number: 2.1.1.A.0.6
Can you give me all files that I need to download to begin the flashing process, and a tutorial (step by step) how to install it.
I don't have ClockWork Mod or anything else.
Thanks in advance!
Can someone help me please!
Hi!
Hi! I see that you have problem with GINGER DX instalation and you don't have CWM. First you must to install XRecovery (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls10Og6W89s) . When you install them you go to xrecovery ( turn on your phone and press back button on phone when you saw SE white logo). You came into xrecovery. 0. Put your GINGER DX file on SD - then you must to turn off your phone and go to xrecovery. 1.Click to delete all user data(you will gonna delete all your data so make a copy on PC) 2.Click Install Custom zip. 3.When you install zip go to Advanced setting on Xrecovery and clean battery stats. Then reboot your phone and you have installed ginger dx!
Sorry for my bad English I'm from Slovenia!

GingerDx from v014+ should be isntalled with CWM!!! Easiest way to install it is find on this forum x8toolbox and install it and install Xrecovery or CWM or both!!! But before that you should root your phone
You need to go step by step
1. Root your X8 by using SuperoneClick. (File attached)
2. Install XRecovery.
3. Follow the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486
follow nima's instructions
i suggest upgrade to FroyoBread first and install Dual Recovery Mode using x8 toolbox just follow the steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117100
then install GingerDX v019 using CMW . . then your on GingerDX now . . horray ! ehehe
Wait,wait..
Can i do like matej says,is that good?
I can't instal xRecovery because i don't know how to root my phone.Superoneclick don't works for me
Why ,be more specified
