hello
I'm having problems installing a custom rom on my x8. Already tried the froiobread gingerdx and with the help of this topic, but without results http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1222348
The first time the phone blocked on the logo. The second time appeared to gingerdx animation but also kept the logo. What am I doing wrong?
I did exactly the steps: Root, Flash, Firmware, Baseband, xRecovery, CWM Recovery
My card is 2 GB and now I have about 500mb free.
Thanks in advance all the help they can give, sorry my bad english
1)flash via flash tool
2)update phone with pc c
3)install xrecovery
4)cheak if ur baseband ends with 15
5)flash froyobread not gingerdx it requires cwm recovery

Hello IROC_69
Thanks in advance for the answers.
I did exactly the steps you describe. First I tried with the Froiobread xrecovery gingerdx and then tried to CWM. Both were frozen on the logo. I thought it might be very small memory card. I find no other explanation.
I already did restore everything and everything is operational. My question is to know why I can not install any room with the steps described in the forum
install rom and do full wipe (factory reset) in recovery menu

current configuration:
Firmware: 2.1-update 1
Baseband - xxxxxxxx0015

xRecovery
CWM
I have installed the CWM, can i update the rom with gingerdx?
After installing the ROM is that I do the full wipe?
How much space do I need on my memory card?
What kind of format should have the card? NTFS or FAT32?
greetings
yep, install rom and than full wipe
Now it's good. Thank you very much
Need your help to solve another problem
I can not uninstall applications that comes in the mobile phone. Already installed the app manager but can not uninstall anything that is already in default operating system. Is there any way to uninstall these programs?

It worked for me so maybe it work for him

In your custom recovery, did you wipe cache and under advanced, wipe dalvik cache, then go to mounts and storage, format data, cache, system. Then flash your new ROM and gapps (install .zip from sd card). Before you do this though, it's always a good idea to backup your stock or current ROM first. Also, for factory reset, NEVER, EVER do a factory reset from within the settings menu in the phone (after you're booted into the ROM). Always do this in your custom recovery.

hi everyone!
i got this problem when i tryed to instal a custom rom...
i rooted the phone then i instaled clockworkMOD and then i make the backup with CWM and titanium backup.
then i done the terrible mistake of coping the backup i made with CWM to my pc and then i erased it from cell,
to free some space, after coping the MIUI rom to the cell i did wipe data and reset factory seeting and wipe cashe as well as
devk cache, and then i instaled the rom zip and did reset, and it didnt pass the IDEOS splash screen.
due to this how can i restore the cell or istal other rom?
how do i access the root of the cell?
is it recuperable?
here the links i used:

thank you and apretiated!
sorry for bad english..
If you're originally coming from Stock ROM Froyo no wonder why it did not work. You have to upgrade first to Official Gingerbread before installing this particular Custom ROM as the kernel is different.
Your solution is to get back to Stock ROM Froyo. Get it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167882
And do the installation as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011527
Go CWM -> mounts and storage -> mount USB storage and copy backup to your phone.

Downloaded HYPERION Final Build 6, flashed to my SGY(stock rom and kernel:S5360_DXLF2_OLBLG1_DXLF1) using CWM with success and then choose to reboot the system but stuck in boot screen.
I leave my phone and waited for several minutes but still no joy. Used Odin 3.65 to recover the system and restore the stock rom and then flash again the HYPERION ROM but still no luck.
Please help guys....
If you get stuck at the logo screen try using a different compilation of CMW.
If you meet bootloop try wiping cache and Dalvik cache.

There's oneby skins and one by madteam. Search and you'll find it. Btw, flash to stock rom using Odin (if you're on a custom rom) before flashing hyperion.

after flashing DXLF1, try flashing EVO-X2.1 first then Hyperion (that's what I did). I used Merruk's CWM it has a much cleaner interface. :3
first flash stock dxlf
then if youre succesfull go to stock rom home screen
reboot recovery clear data factory reset and cache on stock recovery
then apply root update.zip (file you need to root ur phone)
next open cwm clear data and cache again
after that install hyperion then donot reboot and donot apply any update (must be later after succes install)
clear data and cache again in cwm
then reboot recovery clear data and cache again
then reboot wait for a while
thats my step and now im using hyperion smoothly

Link2SD and App2SD requires EXT3 partitioning on your SD card so you can have an extension of your phone memory on your SD card.
Swapper does the same, you need a nameless partition that your phone can put swap files into so as to reduce RAM usage.
Chainfire 3d requires plugins to properly function. It may be installed but not functional due to the fact that you may not have installed any plugins.
So link2sd ad swapper requires partitioning (theres a guide for that) and chainfire 3d requires plugins (google it)

it also happened to my SGY,
This is what I did - (hope this will help)
1. Flash your SGY to baseband DXLF1/DXLF2 via odin
2. Root it.
3. Reboot to Recovery Mode --> do data reset at wipe cache (2x each)
4. Flash Hyperion via CWM
5. After installation, still in CWM go to advance --> reboot recovery --> then flash kernel via CWM
6. After kernel installs, do data reset, wipe cache 2x AGAIN, then --> go to advance --> wipe dalvik 2x also
7. Then REBOOT (wait 2-4mins until cellphone fully starts)

What kernel Im going to flash...? HYPERION has built-in kernel already..
I have been a Samsung Galaxy Y user for more than a year. I have to say that this device is awesome. But.... I have later noticed 2 problems.
1) One day I tried to install Elegance ROM. I followed all steps very carefully and when the installation was done, I rebooted my phone. Unfortunately, my phone booted up again at Samsung stock firmware. I tried to enter recovery mode because I wanted to see what went wrong, but I was automatically redirected to CWM recovery. I tried once again to install Elegance ROM, and the result was the same. From that day, CWM is my default recovery. Why? How to fix this??? I can't access stock recovery and I also cannot install any custom ROMs. How to fix this?
2) Even my SD card is full with songs, photos and videos, the "Gallery" and "Music" apps don't read any file. Why? How to fix this?
P.S. I'm running stock 2.3.6 rooted.
Thanks for help.

You have a permanent cwm because you are using a custom kernel with a permanent cwm - probably was included in the rom zip
If you want stock recovery flash stock kernel (can be found in general section or flash hells fusion #50 from dev section and select option to flash stock kernel)
you would of remained on stock rom after flashing another rom because you didn't mount system in cwm before you flashed the zip
As for your other problem flash stock rom via odin as you have probably mucked something up from flashing zips incorrectly
So.... If I flash the stock kernel, will I be able to access stock recovery and flash CWM every time I want?
By the way, this mess with the files started when I changed my phone's SIM card. When I turned my ohine on again, I opened by mistake the "Galery" app. I noticed that no images were there. I also thought that the "music" might also had the same problem. And that's what happened. Which Odin version I will need?
Thanks again.

Yes stock kernel = stock recovery and you can flash a temporary cwm
there is no problems with a permanent cwm in custom kernels as you need cwm to flash roms
If you goto phone settings about phone it will show you your current baseband - for example mine is xxlf3
You can either download that stock rom firmware from dokys thread if there or any other from your country
Thanks everybody. You are all really helpful. I appreciate your help. But tell me, do I need to mount system before installing Elegance? And while I'm having a custom kernel installed, can I flash roms or I need the stock kernel?
Thanks again.

Follow instructions on the op of the rom you want to flash
you must always mount system before flashing a zip else nothing will happen - you can flash zips all day and no changes would happen as it can't write to system as it's not mount!
As a general rule
wipe system
wipe data
wipe cache
mount system
mount data
mount cache
flash zip
format data (not always required just for some roms)
restart
you do not need to go back to stock to change rom
There are guides in general section - please read them first then you would understand the process
