Unlock, Password request time - Milestone 2 General

Hi guys, im currently using MIUI Rom,
I wonder if there is a way to change the time it takes to lock and prompt for a password. I mean, i like the screen turning off at 30 sec of inactivity, but i want it to ask for password at 10 mins of inactivity, is that possible?
Or is there a way i can reactivate the slide keyboard to unlock without password?
Thanks!

Password only on power on

Hey Guys,
I am sure I could do this with Windows 6.. or was it Windows 5??
Anyways, I want a password pin on my phone, but only when I turn it on.
At the moment, I have "Prompt if device unused for" set to 0 minutes. This means when I turn it off, it asks for a password when I turn it on again. The annoyance of this is that it also locks when I am reading emails etc.
I want to be able to have the device NOT lock unless I switch it off!
I seem to remember there was a setting, that you could enable power on password only.
Any help appreciated. It's driving me insane!

You need to go to settings > personal > phone > PIN/PIN2 and set PIN for phone. Now if you reset your device it should prompt you for a PIN
Hey There,
Many thanks for the reply. Sorry, I should have been clearer. This is not actually when powered off and on, I mean when I put it in standby by quickly pressing the power button, not resetting or restarting the device.
Basically what I want it to do is this...
When using the phone, it doesn't lock (password lock, not button lock).
When I press the power button to put it into standby, then when re-activated, it asks for the password.
My last Touch HD was stolen, and didn't have a password on it. I don't want that to happen again, so want it to ask for the password every time it is tuned on (bought out of standby), but I also don't want the hassle of having to enter the password every time the "prompt is device used for" activates. I read ebooks on my touch and it's a pain having it keep asking for the password. If I set the delay too long however so it doesn't interrupt me, there is a possibility that if it's stolen, it will be unlocked when it is.

Screen lock: slide = yes.. but security code = NO

Hi - got an issue with Screen Lock - as in different than both my Diamond 6.1 ROM and custom 6.5 ROM..
My devices are setup to sync with an Exchange 2007 server, and which enforces a device lock policy (5 mins). I also have the devices setup to dim their back-light off after 30 seconds and turn the screen off completely after 1 minute.
On the HD2 every time the screen is switched off, be it either via the button or after the 1 min timeout, whenever I resume (even if straight away) I have to both do the swipe-to-unlock and enter my unlock pin code. Whereas on the other devices whether or not I have to enter the pin code is dependant on whether or not the 5 minute lock policy has elapsed.
For example, I might be actively working with a device over a period of 20 minutes. During this time the screen might switch off a number of times, but because I switch it on again <5 mins later then no pin unlock required. However with the HD2 it has to be entered EVERY time - a real pain.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
[BUMP]
Seems this issue gets more involved when moving to 1.48 ROMS!
To summarize, I'm after decoupling the native auto slide-to-unlock functionality from the security code entry. I like the fact the slide-to-unlock is engaged every time the screen is turned off then back on again, however want the security code entry to honour the selected timeout period (so as if the device is turned back on again within that period you only have to slide-to-unlock and not enter the security code).
Surely I'm not alone here..
Definitely annoying
This is definitely the most annoying "feature" of the HD2. Some customization for the logon screen (slide only, slide and pin, slide and pin after timeout period, pin only) would be very welcome.
So a thumbs up / vote for any solution to this.
I have tried the Disable Auto Device Lock.cab from this site, but that breaks all locks and I had several "automatic calls" + high battery drain because of pocket clicks. So I did a hard reset to get rid of this setting.

[Q] CM7 password screen... buffer time

I set a password on my phone (the pattern lock) and I don't see any option for a "Buffer time" or "time out" option. On 2.2.1 I had, I remember setting it to 15 minutes so that once I unlocked the phone, any time i have to re-wake the phone within 15 minutes of putting in my password, it won't ask me to put my password in.
With CM7, if the light goes off and I have to rewake it, it asks for pattern lock every single time. Even seconds apart. Is there any option around this or am I not looking hard enough?

[Q] Encrypt phone without a lock screen?

Hello everybody I just encrypted my phone and chose I believe a 17 character random password which includes punctuation. It's hard enough to remember and I only wish to enter it when I power on the phone. However it seems I have to enter it every time the phone locks itself. I don't want that, it's a heck of inconvenience. I just want swipe to unlock, not no pin or no pattern and only want to enter the big as password when the phone turns on. I am rooted and on the latest AT&T firmware.
Same question. Please answer
It should be right in the security tab and I've tried it and only requires password whenever I reboot the phone

Lockscreen security problem

Hi everyone,
I am having an issue with my S7 Edge because of the unlock pattern.
Normally, I always use my fingerprints for phone unlock, but as you know, additional to that you always need to input some pattern lock also for security reasons.
The problem now is that I forgot the pattern, I can still unlock my phone via fingerprint, but I can not change the lockscreen settings because it asks me for the pattern. I inputted it already 2 times wrong, first time I had to wait 5 minutes, second time 10 minutes in order to be able to unlock at all.
Now I am afraid to try anymore because it will lock my phone for longer....
Is there a way of disabling the pattern in a situation like this? (without having to do a factory reset via recovery)
P.S. It is a rooted phone
