[Q] Irritating short touch vibration - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi
I tried to find answer on forum but no answer for my irritating question.
Is there anywhere option to turn off this short vibrate on touch screen and on main four buttons?
ps
Really like this phone.
Satisfied First time android user with Ideos x5

Its called haptic feedback and its there for a reason but if u want to remove it just go into ur settings -> sound&vibration (or something like that, it could be different, depends what ROM ur using) then you should see "haptic feedback"...just disable it

Proximity sensor..prob during call

Hi guys..the above prob does not happen when during the call i use the slide dialpad..at that time screen gets locked!!
Is any settings that i have to change?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
It keeps your face from inadvertently pressing the cancel/end call button. To unlock screen during call, double tap screen.
But when i dont use the slide dialpad the proximity sensor doesnt work..thats the problem..

Any experts here..please help/suggest..currently i always use the slide dialpad to avoid touching my cheeks with the end call button screen..

Check the Android Dev section of this forum you might find some answers there... or...
Try flashing your phone again.
I'm not an expert so that's all I can tell you. Maybe others have better solutions.
I read other threads too..some guy is doing some kind of a experimnt..
Can u confirm if u r facing the same issue or not?

Got a task killer? If so, remove it and see what it does. Had something similar happen.

First step is to see if your proximity sensor works at all...
Go to the lock screen and press:
Menu Back Menu Back Back Menu Back Menu Menu Back
Find the proximity sensor test and press your finger against the phone just above the screen.

Disable vibration on "hard keys"

Is it possible ?
Yes
Go to settings >sounds > go all the way down the menu
Sent from my Desire HD
Thanks !
Of course, why didn't I thought of Sound menu ...
Easy to miss. But in the world of HTC, vibration is always a kind of sound...

I think it drains some battery, but not much. One of the first things i did when i got this phone was killing this.. this vibrating son of a *****. God i hate vibrations when it's not from a incoming call or game

Like thread name says, is there any way to answer to a call just pressing any hard button like home button?
i think there's such possibility in any custom rom based on CM, you can go to CM settings and set the power button to do this.

but i am using original SE 2.1 ROM
is there this possibility in this Rom too? i extremely need it.

I'm quite sure that root access is a must for key remap on Android. Ah I miss the WinMo days...

@Charmed .. so do I. I'll now try this, it should work on CM, but I think it's not working on stock ROM...
Tasker can do this and much more. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890596

[FIX] Vibrate + Ring on XXLPB based ROMs

1) Download Profile Manager from Market
2) Create a new profile
3) Ensure that vibrate is ticked
4) Apply profile
Incoming calls should now ring and vibrate. Notifications are still without vibration.
Setting should stick between reboots and switching to and from silent mode.
YMMV. Post issues if any.
Thanks
Thanks.
Whats also useful: smart vibrater app from the market. Its possible to activate sms vibration with it. You also can use vibration patterns, for example long, short, long or whatever you want.
i used the normal icon from the nova luncher on ICS and it work perfect sms and calls
thanks ! i will try try
Which icon from nova launcher do you mean?
Thanks! It works

Hi, I had that problem on xxlph and solved it with "Sound Manager" from the market and it works great! On the aplication you only have to go to menu/vibrate settings/vibrate whenever possible and thats all.
Hope it helps.
