[Q] answer incomming call by pressing a hard button? - XPERIA X8 General

Like thread name says, is there any way to answer to a call just pressing any hard button like home button?

i think there's such possibility in any custom rom based on CM, you can go to CM settings and set the power button to do this.

thank for reply
but i am using original SE 2.1 ROM
is there this possibility in this Rom too? i extremely need it.

i dont think there is, sorry.

I'm quite sure that root access is a must for key remap on Android. Ah I miss the WinMo days...

I was looking all over the internet for app or script for ending a call with back button and there was no way nay app would do that. But try this maybe

@Charmed .. so do I. I'll now try this, it should work on CM, but I think it's not working on stock ROM...

Tasker can do this and much more. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890596

Home button (trackpad) not working

Hmm, it seems like the trackpad (home button) doesn't work.
Well it works as a trackpad and can select items and open them and all that, but when I want to try and start the phone, it doesn't work. I have to use the power button for that.
It started when I upgraded from Froyo HTC Sense to CM7 Gingerbread.
Is there an app out there that enables it again?

you should go through and learn the CM settings, there are a few different settings that allow you to wake the phone and unlock it with the trackpad
menu>settings>cyanogenmod settings>input>then check trackball wake
and if you want it for unlock also then
menu>settings>cyanogenmod settings>lockscreen settings>unlock options and check the trackball unlock
Oh okay. I see it. One more thing, is there a way where I can make the phone vibrate when I get a text message? The phone doesn't vibrate when I put the phone on vibrate

Galaxy S, S2, S3... and others have the opportunity to answer to the incoming call with hardware "Home" button?
Is there ANY way for rooted GT-S5360 to do the same? I am ready to buy any app or to flash any firmware.
Help me, please.

there is a ****.kl somewhere in you can remap the hardware keys,
but you will lose the home button in favor of answer call button
There is an app named button remapper. You can change by it but as deathnotice said, you will loose the option of home key.

Using a remmaper is not a good idea...

You mean all the time or only in lock screen?
I do not know of any way to completely disable them.
Some apps, like Full Screen Caller Id, let you disable them while the device is locked.

You have been a member of XDA for quite sometime surely you are capable of using the search button rather than create a brand new thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191626
lol thxxxx for the tip, wasn t searchnig the right words (hard to be french)
after reading the topic, don t see anybody talking about long press on back button = kill current app, #confused
Another mod which works but your phone needs to be rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200369
i ve seen this one already but same it seems that long press = menu action not killapp
Surely double tapping on the home button is quite intuitive though? I think the mod you are after would mess up the long press back for menu (sorry I misread your first post).
dbl tap on hop open recents app (so far on mine) and longpress does nothing, here the trick is to create the menu app that is gone, not the killer task button. no rpob, we read all too many lines per day

This mod is very useful and I use it very much on my current One X. It is from one xda ROM for one X. I hope someone can make a MOD for ONE.

Enabling On-Screen Buttons

Is there any way I can enable the on-screen buttons on the stock GS4 ROM. I'm trying to reduce the usage of the home button because I'm scared it might break/stop working anytime :/ The tutorial in the dev section doesnt seem to apply for me.

I think this is non sense. You will loose a part of screen for the on screen buttons. The home button will not break/stop working. You don't need to worry about this. And in the worst case if this will ever happen you can bring it back for free repair or replace it yourself (very cheap).
Personally i highly doubt that something like this will happen.

You can try downloading an app called EasyTouch, that wont take screen space. Its similar to the accesibility mode on the iphone.

You don't even need that, as this is built in, just look in the accessibility settings.
But... You can always do that IF the button fails. For now, don't worry about the hypothetical failure you may experience one day, just use the hard button
