[FIX] Vibrate + Ring on XXLPB based ROMs - Galaxy S II General

1) Download Profile Manager from Market
2) Create a new profile
3) Ensure that vibrate is ticked
4) Apply profile
Incoming calls should now ring and vibrate. Notifications are still without vibration.
Setting should stick between reboots and switching to and from silent mode.
YMMV. Post issues if any.
Thanks

Thanks.
Whats also useful: smart vibrater app from the market. Its possible to activate sms vibration with it. You also can use vibration patterns, for example long, short, long or whatever you want.

Hi, I had that problem on xxlph and solved it with "Sound Manager" from the market and it works great! On the aplication you only have to go to menu/vibrate settings/vibrate whenever possible and thats all.
Hope it helps.

Sound on / Vibrate on

Is there anyway to have the sound and vibrate turned on at the same time for incoming phones calls only?

How then? I am new to Andriod.
What i want is sound off / vibrate on and vice versa. When i put my phone in vibrate mode, all notifications should be set to vibrate. Turn the volume back up and vibrate stops and sounds are back. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure it out.
Try settings profile in the market.
Another great app is just "profile" by noimjosh, it is a fully configureable profile manager. It also has whitelist functions and the ability to seperate sms mms and notification volumes to different levels. It will also control GPS WIFI, music volume alarm volume .. the list goes on and on. I highly recommen checking it out. well worth it. Hope this helps.

I find that this is good for everything. That's probably why it costs $4. I have this one turn on my wifi when I get within 1/4 mi of my house. I also have it change my wallpaper so when I'm home it displays a hot naked girl and while at work it will display something other than that.

Hey Acid, settings profile looks really good. Lots of control, i am wondering if you agree on this though. I am on call sometimes from 330 am and want to keep everything silent except for a call from work. So i basically set up a "silent" profile, then created a rule so if i get a call from a specific work number the profile will change to another profile called "work".which has an audible ringtone of course. Thus i should be able to keep everything silent untill work calls then presto i can hear that call. Sound right to you?

THESE instructions look like they run pretty close to what you're describing. I'm pretty sure you can.
Yep, I should have checked that turorial first, thanks for the suggestion, I might have to make the switch over!
Have a good one
Hey by the way, if you have Juice Defender and Settings Profile running in tandem I've noticed they can conflict on the wifi side of things.
Ahh, noted thanks!

ringtone volume?

not sure if this device specific but on my htc incredible in the options i had the ability to have set the notification volume based on the ringtone volume.
on this phone, they're 2 independent settings.
anyone know if theres a way around that?
i just looked and didnt see a way to do it... i had a droid1, dx, and d2 and where i would normally be able to change it (settings > sounds and display > phone ringtone) its just not there... there should be a checkbox to "unlink" phone ringtone and notification volume...
if its somewhere else, please inform
I downloaded an app called "Quick Settings" (really slick apps that gives you acess to a lot of settings all in one place) and it has a check box under it's volume control menu to "Use Ringer volume for Notifications".
Hope this helps!
I like that, thank you! It needs a widget, though.

i have been wondering the same thing. I had quick settings on my Incredible, don't know why i didn't think to download that.
Thanks.
I remember seeing that feature on my Eris after installing the KaosFroyo ROM. I think it's a new feature in Froyo, so we'll probably see it with our Froyo upgrade as well.

Not a widget but there is a setting to put in the (already too crowded) status bar/ pull down.

How to clear notifications with 3rd party apps

Hey when I use go dialer its not clearing out missed calls I have to go into the original one to make them go away using the latest cyanogenmod . Reason I use go dialer is that the original one don't have smart searching.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yeah, I just noticed this, as well, that it doesn't clear the missed calls notification. Strange, as it does work with Go SMS. Odd...
By the way, you're using a Desire HD? So do I and the original dialer does have smart searching. You can either press the numbers if you know part of the phone number or you can press the letters of a name and it will find that as well. And with press I mean 'tap' of course.
Are You talking about stock ROM or cyanogenmod when you say the dialer has smart search
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
The stock ROM. CyanogenMod's dialer doesn't support smart search.

Yeah it works but I want to stick with go contacts
I have the same problem. I'm using Go Contacts EX and its really frustrating to open native phone app, just to clear missed call notifications
still nobody found a solution? I'm using CyanogenMod 7.0.3-DesireHD
Download Titanium Backup, navigate to Go Contacts in the app list in TB, and long press it, then select "Convert To System App". That will allow Go Dialer to clear the missed call notification!

Alert slider mapping

I'm currently thinking of a remapping app (remapping as in changing a physical button's output) , but I do not own a oneplus two. Can somebody tell me what the alert slider's keycodes are?
If any of you is willing to help but do not know how to find such info, I attached an apk (that I built from an open source code) to this post. Please install and open the app then change the alert slider state, screenshot the output then send them to me. Also, please state what ROM version you are running.
When the app is finally released to an xda thread, I'll list all the testers there of course.
P.S: The Alert Slider is that new hardware slider that changes sound profiles, in case you didn't already know
Here is the screenshot, hope it helps, makes sense to have the silent mode in the down position.

Swapping the "none" profile and "all" profile was exactly what I was thinking.
Can you please tell me what the output of the other states of the slider was?
EDIT:What you actually sent me was the mapping of the back button
is it possible to map it so loud, vibrate and silent

That is what I am trying to achieve. If you own a One Plus Two, please download and install the apk and send me the screenshots after you toggle each alert slider state
The app does not do anything when toggling alert slider unfortunately.

Wow, that is a very unexpected result ._. I'll have to look into the source code then.
Thanks a lot everyone
This would be genius !
I'm ready to be your beta-tester
OPT with OxygenOS 2.0.2 with Xposed here.
Would be great if we could reverse the mappings, so instead of all notifications with the slider being all the way down it would be all the way up for all notifications.
Slider up: All notifications
Slider middle: Priority
Slider down: Silent
Strange idea, but what if for each slide matched a battery profile, like battery saver, balanced, performance?

I thought about having multiple layout options : battery modes;CPU governors; rotation change etc..
However I still haven't found the alert slider mapping file :/ This is becoming quite frustrating
Will have my OPT soon and will do anything I can to help out with this. Think the All/Priority/None options are not useful at all.
its taking a lot of time ...attached img is for priority ..ie key in d middle..

You just need to follow the instruction and enjoy the vibration.

While in call, the only way you can go about doing this is by going to homescreen(press the home button while on call)>settings>change the settings specifically. Or, you can change the phone mode to silent from the notification panel and then revert back.
it's strange that it vibrate in call,it's in all the 6.0.1?

Well yes, if you don't want notifications at all while you are on a call alone, you can change the settings from the phone application. Go to your dialer, then open settings and unselect the notify during calls options.
well i don't find the specific setting in call..where is it exactly at the nexus?

Anyone find a solution to this? Do I really have to use tasker to get this done?
Same issue here... there is no option in settings that I can find to turn it off. Its gone from annoying to infuriating... maybe its fixed in preview 5.... if the stupid OTA would ever get here
Drives me nuts, vibration should be off by default while in a call.
vibrate during call bug fixed
Looks like bug has been fixed and will be available in "future build"
I can't post url yet, google: Issue 220951: 7.0 Nougat vibration during call problem
I'm using a Huawei Mate 8 and have also run into this issue, on Android 7.0.
Using Light Flow (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite&hl=en) will allow you to work around this issue.
For each notification type (within Light Flow) there is an option to toggle "Vibrate in call".
