[Q] Postpone Screen Lock?? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi
Is there any way to postpone the Screen Lock in a Sense-free Gingerbread build??
With Sense you have the possibility to postpone 1, 3, 5 and 10 minutes. No-Sense builds lock at once.
I have my company mail on the phone, and the mailserver is a MS Exchange server that requires the phone to use a PIN-lock.
Runnymede build actually skips the whole security step and allows to use mail and not set any type of Screen Lock.
Thnx
Edit:
In my CM7 build (se signature) go to Settings - CyanogenMod settings - Lockscreen - Delay and timeout.
There enable "Slide lock delay", then you are able to set the delay for both the "slide lock" and the "Screen Lock"

I would like to postpone the Screen Lock for about 10 min or so, because i'm in the office here and i use the phone a lot. It goes in and out of my pocket at least once every 10 min and it would be nice to not have to enter the PIN all the time...

Automatic Device/Key Lock

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a way to get the Device Lock feature (appears as a padlock on the Today screen) to active automatically after a preset length of time.
I have WM5 on my ex-SPV/M700 and the feature is very handy for preventing false button presses whilst device in pocket etc but annoyingly can only be invoked manually.
Thanks in adavnce for any help/info,
LL
Slide2Unlock works for me; it locks the device automatically when the device turns itself off (see your power save settings)

but you must enter a password......
i also want an auto screen locker but without password...

Prompt for lock screen without waiting the preset time limit?

basically i got the password set to be asked for when the device isnt used after 1 hour but sometime i want to be able to lock the device instantly and then be asked for it without setting the time limit to 0 mins - when i just hold the lock buttn it doesnt prompt for the pass either - thanks
Any one got any ideas? or maybe some sort of different lock system entirely?
I used the lock feature today for the first time and had exactly the same thoughts. I'd like to be able to lock it at will too.
Throttle Lock seems to be a good alternative to the very annoying built-in function.

wow thanks alot !
just what I was looking for!
Tiny app does this perfectly
Found this a while ago right here in XDA Devs ... works perfectly on my Xperia
It does exactly what I wanted -immediately locks the screen when you run it (requiring password to unlock)
I use Slide 2 Unlock, and have my default password set to come on after an hour like you ...but sometimes I need to be able to lock it straight away
I have this little app as a shortcut on my today and thus can lock instantly whenever I need to -give it a try!
Thanks to slow23
Enjoy!

Double lock problem.

Hello. I have installed the wonderful Co0kie's Home Tab & CHT Editor. I have set the WM phone lock to require a PIN after not using the phone for 15 mins. I also want a lock (without a PIN) when I switch the phone on after it has been off, so I set the CHT lock on to do this. Now if I switch off and on, the CHT slider appears without a PIN - exactly as required, but if I switch off and leave the phone for longer that 15 mins, I get the WM slider and PIN lock (as required) but then I get the CHT slider as well. Does anybody know a way of (a) stopping the CHT lock appearing if the WM PIN lock is active, or (b) removing the WM lock slider whilst keeping the PIN requirement. IE, any way of removing two sliders. Thanks in advance.
Next time
This has been seen before in these forums take a look next time, but just for ease go to your home screen and hit menu, cookies home tab editor, lockscreen settings and flip the slider to turn off the lock screen you dont wish to come on (enable CHT lockscreen or Enable default lockscreen)
Thanks for your reply Tobiascrystal. The default lockscreen is OFF. The CHT lockscreen is ON and the CHT "Lock on standby" is ON to ensure that the CHT slider appears after turning the screen off and on within 15 minutes. The standard WM "phone lock" (in settings) is ON (and set to 15 mins) to ensure that a PIN needs to be entered if you turn the screen off and on after 15 mins. Are you saying that there is a better way of setting this up? What I require is: If you turn the screen off and on again within 15 mins (maybe by accidently pressing a button), just a slider lock appears. If you turn the screen off and on again after 15 mins, a slider lock and a PIN is required. The problem is that in the latter case, The WM slider and PIN appears, but when a PIN is entered the CHT slider also appears. I hope that's clear!

Thanks Crillz. I have now updated Co0kie's Home Tab & CHT Editor to the latest version and like you, all the nasty hangs and crashes have stopped. However, I cannot use the CHT lock now as it does not support PIN security! Oh well, let's hope there is another upgrade soon.

Increase lock phone after....time. Exchange

If I cannot remove the pin lock for the exchange setting on my DINC to the pattern lock....is there a way to increase the "lock phone after" under security for more than 15min??? On the WinMO there was an hack to set it to 4hr or more...
This interested me, mostly because it so happens that the default "lock after no more than" time on exchange 2010 (and i believe 2007 as well) is 15 minutes. I've only used my android device connected to an exchange server, so I'm not sure if, when not connected, you might be able to get more time.

I'm not positive, but I think the app Tasker allows you to change this.

It appears it can but need some plugins and the tasker has to be always running and a few steps to do it... a bit more over the top than I was hoping for unless that is the only option...
But thx I will bookmark it...
Digging this topic back up....
I am not asking to remove the pin but for an app that will extend the lock time when I can set to 1hr or 2, etc because I do want it to lock at some point.
I tried ExtendLockTime app and it does not work correctly and looks like the developer stopped.
Are there any options???

Lock screen timeout fix???

Ok so you know when your screen times out and shuts off..
Within 3seconds you can press the side unlock key and resume what you were doing before you have to use the unlock screen... I would like a setting or hard code it so the delay is longer like 1m....
I have a Asus Transformer and this is a setting in the display menu, how i would love to see that here.
Fyi, i have a exchange acount linked to my phone so i am forced to use a unlock pattern....
(currently running CleanGB)
Thanks for your time and input!!!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You can customize the delay with CyanogenMod, but this is the only ROM I know of that has this capability.* You can set the Screen Timeout delay and the Screen Turn Off delay (as in manually turned off) independently. While there is no Custom setting where you can put any number of seconds and minutes in, there is a very good list:
Immediately
1 sec
5 sec
10 sec
15 sec
30 sec
1 min
5 min
10 min
30 min
While running CM7, go to [Settings] >> [CyanogenMod settings] >> [Lockscreen] >> [Delay and timeout] >> [Screen Timeout] and/or [Screen Turn Off]
I like the stripped-down, yet customizable nature of CyanogenMod, so I recommend you look into it.
* I have only used SRF and CM, so I'm not familiar with other ROMs' settings.
I hear you. TW based ROM's leave something to be desired here. I, like AmericanJedi001, recommend you try CM7 to get the most customization options. I'm on CM7 right now and just totally disabled my lockscreen as it just slows me down. Not sure how you can handle the Exchange restriction though, or if it can be overridden on CM7. I stopped using EAS (Exchange Active Sync) on my mobile. Found it to be too intrusive to have work e-mail and calendar everywhere I go when I should be focused on my family or having fun (if it's something important work will call me).

I disabled my lockscreen for a few days too, but I got tired of inadvertently powering the screen on, then launching random apps, all with my phone in my pocket. I went back to a slide-to-unlock screen after that.
